1050 exahash wow, do they have a pen that holds enough ink to write that many numbers Smiley
Omg, our equipment is becoming useless.

Well, its a 1.05 Exa spike. Not 1050. We're at 1050 Peta hash. The true hashrate of the total network might be closer to 930 Peta hash, so reaching 1 Exahash is one or two difficulty jump away.

I thought people expected the hashrate to go down with this price drop... guess not.

Nice contest !!!  Thanks Kano and avalon, this will be fun.  I do have a problem with this part though :  "If for any month, the miner isn't won, it will continue into the following months until someone wins it."

If we dont find a block for a month Sad

250THs coincidentally odds to about a month for finding a block (~23 days).    gotta make you wonder if it's a coincidence  Wink

Steve0 and Steve1 already doubling his odds lol  Its possible he already was split or is two diff people tho..Smiley

Kano can you check the large users and see if they split up their accounts Smiley  lets keep it fair  .. be nice to go to a smaller miner guys:)

Sorry, been a while since I have been on here.  Steve0 are all my toys.  steve1 are miners that I own 50% with a partner.  I just split them so I could make accounting easy.

I sense people are renting hashrate for that avalon...heheheheh I know I did (well just a bit, for a little bit).  Dont think its going to pay out, I paid 0.0046-0.0047...so no blocks found yet.  On another note, my s7 got a 2.7billion share today, so i've got that going for me Smiley  Come on people, there are blocks to be found !

Hey ,

No worries at all.  I hadnt really payed any attention to the user list till the contest was announced.   Sorry if i came off wrong in that post.. Seems after a couple years in the btc world you get rather defensive after being scammed and seeing others be scammed time and time again.. Thanks for being honest and speaking out when you didnt have to.. Appreciate that:)

People can split up their workers to two or more account if they want:

I didn't say anywhere that he can't do that if he wanted to.
He's had 2 accounts for ages since he joined anyway.
That's not something new.

The point of the upper limit is so that someone with 500THs, who doesn't really care about winning one miner, wont win one.

If they do care, they can of course make a worker with 50TH if they want.

The lower limit is coz I don't want to attract hundreds of tiny miners to the pool.
The pool hashrate vs workers is very good. Lots of tiny miners makes that not as good.

I honestly see no issues with this (not that my opinion matters, kano is the almighty ruler). I'm just happy to mine here, the giveaways are just an added benefit to help the pool grow and reward the members.

Thanks Zach i did miss that post,

Kano or -ck was wondering if everything is alright with the block propagation its at an extreme today or maybe there is a glitch with the site..

what struck me as odd is f2pool isnt at top of the list. but now eligius is and they are not setting any records on getting out the blocks

edit  i also find this odd that it coincided with a 500 peta jump in the network  it this some sort of a new attack?

When the price started increasing back in November my calculations said, for the first time in a long time, to run my SP20s at full speed.  I've been running them at full since despite the difficulty increases (being optimistic) which, due to pool luck, has really paid off!

Now my calculations say they need to be at the lowest settings and it is time to start looking at new gear.  This would be a perfect time to win an Avalon6!

Wow this pool has grown!  There was a time not that long ago when my 6TH was 0.5% to 1% of the pool, but now my chances of winning are around 0.045%!

Hey, I can just look at my block % for my chances of winning! Cool Wink I'm running an sp20 as well. OT question to anyone willing to answer(delete if you must I understand)  Can I split my sp20 between Kano Ckpool and SoloCKpool simultaneously somehow?

Not simultaneously, however within cgminer you can set the balanced option which will cause your miner to mine on both pools (never at the same time, it'll switch back and forth).

I don't have a good answer for the second question.

These stats are obviously wrong.  If you scroll down you will see the eligius block stat is repeated on several block finds with the same time.  This of course threw off all to calculations to follow.  It seems to be working again properly now but it will take some time for the average to update.

Well, the balanced thing would be fine but I don't believe the sp20 allows any flags. I'll try and get back thanks.

I think I once read (don't remember where) that it is possible to do  balancing by editing cgminer.conf.template, but if I recall correctly the balance percentage was ignored so the balance couldn't be tuned and it couldn't be done with failover set up at the same time.  I never tried it.

Ugh. Yeah what I really need is access to standard cgminer interface, but I have no idea how to do it with the sp20. I need to connect to windows because I want to set up a full node and point my miner there as well. Sorry I'm way off topic. If anyone wants to help me out please pm.
--load-balance will mine on all pools listed at the same time.

i.e. as per the cgminer README
Quote
MULTIPOOL

FAILOVER STRATEGIES WITH MULTIPOOL:
A number of different strategies for dealing with multipool setups are
available. Each has their advantages and disadvantages so multiple strategies
are available by user choice, as per the following list:

FAILOVER:
The default strategy is failover. This means that if you input a number of
pools, it will try to use them as a priority list, moving away from the 1st
to the 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and so on. If any of the earlier pools recover, it will
move back to the higher priority ones.

ROUND ROBIN:
This strategy only moves from one pool to the next when the current one falls
idle and makes no attempt to move otherwise.

ROTATE:
This strategy moves at user-defined intervals from one active pool to the next,
skipping pools that are idle.

LOAD BALANCE:
This strategy sends work to all the pools on a quota basis. By default, all
pools are allocated equal quotas unless specified with --quota. This
apportioning of work is based on work handed out, not shares returned so is
independent of difficulty targets or rejected shares. While a pool is disabled
or dead, its quota is dropped until it is re-enabled. Quotas are forward
looking, so if the quota is changed on the fly, it only affects future work.
If all pools are set to zero quota or all pools with quota are dead, it will
fall back to a failover mode. See quota below for more information.

The failover-only flag has special meaning in combination with load-balance
mode and it will distribute quota back to priority pool 0 from any pools that
are unable to provide work for any reason so as to maintain quota ratios
between the rest of the pools.

BALANCE:
This strategy monitors the amount of difficulty 1 shares solved for each pool
and uses it to try to end up doing the same amount of work for all pools.

Thanks Kano. I had read the README but was unsure how to access the sp20 via cgminer with ssh. My wording was unclear. I was informed via PM that I could use putty to do so, BIG thanks to everyone!
Yeah I don't know how to get into an SP20, I gave away the one I was gonna get as a pool prize last year Smiley
But my point was to say that yes that option does what you want.
