Thank you Herb! Ditto. EDIT: One block reward (for me) at today's spot will pay my hosting bill for six weeks at the Hoth Ice Planet. I'm not worried.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

I have heard of this Hoth Ice Planet a few times but when I search for it, I cannot find a physical mining farm - just Star Wars and StartGate... I am assuming that you do not really have miners beyond earth's atmosphere, right? Of course cooling it would be a piece of cake! I suspect this is just a newbie not getting a time honored bitcoin reference... If you have a definition (or the web site if it really is a physical location), I would love to be enlightened! Thanks much and mine on!

Getting a couple S9's online, 14TH batch. Any way to adjust the fan speed and Clock anymore? cold basement and chips are 68-71. I'd like to turn fans down for noise and run chips around 88-92. I remember seeing a URL link to still access the fan and clock settings, latest shipped FW does not have those options anymore.
http://miner.ip.addr/cgi-bin/minerAdvanced.cgiThat's as good as it gets but not fan speed directly just a small amount of control over the max frequency Well that sucks, I was able to run a quiet 2900-3200 RPM in the past, now these suckers stay at 4250. Don't know if I can take the humming Issue solved, my son built me a arduino based modulator/controller that spoofs the fan speed to the miner at 90% and I can enter any fan speed I want. For me 45% is perfect, quiet and temps between 70-75. Actual RPM now is about 3600 and miner thinks its 90%. What a difference in noise. If anyone wants one of these fan speed modulators, please PM me. It spoofs the speed to the miner so it keeps hashing and allows you to enter any percentage you want to run, realtime edits. Watch your temps and keep dialing down the fan speed till you get he sound and temp to where you want them.

I was checking on my miners earlier and notcied the s9 i have pointed here that every minute or so its ramping up and down on the fans. The other miners pointed at different pools arnt doung this. The temps were 71 69 and 69.
Any reason why?

Nope, unless your machine is doing some kind of internal ramp up or down trying to find the best Freq, it shouldn't be doing that though.

Mine does that now and then, no idea why. Sometimes I reboot it and it stops. Shrug.

It happens to my 2 S9s as well. Though I guess it's due to miner's firmware acting up due to change in temps. No idea for sure.

Yeah there's been someone sending a bazillion logins at the web server for hours. Unfortunately when I enable logins again, it immediately shows they're still doing it. The API still works OK, but logins are disabled until they stop doing it. This of course has no effect on mining.

I jumped ship from Antpool because of the great reviews I read about Kano Pool. So far, I have had two decent rewards, but no consistent rewards. Wednesday was a week for me on Kano. My 30, 60 and 90 day average with Antpool was $10 a day. My average here is about $2.50. I am waiting to see what the next block reward brings here and then I will probably be jumping ship. I mine to make money, if we aren't getting rewards, there is no point in mining here. Hopefully the next block reward will shock me, but if not back I go to Antpool. I have two new miners to pay for.
Good luck!

Yep - back to lower expected rewards you go e.g. this month AntPool would be charging you a 16% or higher fee. If you look across the year of mining, monthly, some months are low, some are high. That should make it pretty easy to work out how to get better rewards If you must get paid a fixed lower amount every single day coz your electricity bill has to be paid daily, then indeed you need to mine PPS.

Don't you realize "antpoo" does not pay transaction fees to you the miner? You are getting robbed when you mine there...and they don't use any vaseline!
