I heard a rumor we had a dos attack on bitcointalk.org earlier and that's why we could not connect earlier.
Who handles this site in the event of an attack?
Who ever handles it got us back up rather quickly.
I would assume theymos, and/or other admins/mods

I'm not convinced the forum had a ddos attack, more like google fubard one of the net servers while trying to get their advertising platform back up. I was having difficulties opening preev, at the same time as well as a couple other site forums for cars. I heard a rumor we had a dos attack on bitcointalk.org earlier and that's why we could not connect earlier.

from your prediction's date and time we have done very well. We just may break the bank with this luck. yeah from nov 7 to now nov 14 we made 13 blocks. in about 1 week. we should have made 4 . pretty f'ing good luck. 13 vs 4 is very nice break for us. Would be interesting to see if we do it an extended time period... Say 100 blocks made when we should have done 60… If we do a consistent high luck number for a long time it would indicate that Kano's + CK's no merged mining method has a benefit. This would need to work for a long time for me to think it is true. But what the fuck in the meantime I am having fun with it.

Last 15 Blocks all under 100%, most under 20%. Gotta love the colour coding I have to say that i appreciate the big hitters, ANTPOWER, MELANCON, LIGHTSWORD and FLS for keeping the faith and staying with this pool. Without the big hashers, we may still be floundering in the water. Im guessing that you all also appreciate that it is being run by probably the most knowledgeable bitcoin experts out there who have put together an excellent, transparent (honest) pool and I am also grateful and appreciative of all the efforts. As a long time reader of Bitcointalk, its also great to see a lot of those that have been mining for a while come over here and add the hashpower to what I think is going to be one of the biggest and most honestly run pools out there. Ive only got 2 x S3s pointing here, but it all adds up eh. Anyway, lets hope the good times keep rollin. P.S. if Con or Kano come to Canberra, the beers will be on me.

yeah... another block found 329931 nice...
Lets hope a few more hit with the bright green colour on the blocks page, much better than those dark colours even though any colour is good in my book. i hope 1 or 2 more blocks will be found today... cheers....

Yes, I appreciate the top 10. Especially, the top 4 in the Stats as well. And yes, I appreciate Kano and CK putting this all together. I sure as hell couldn't do it. I would be concerned with how to war off attacks if any should happen. That's mainly what keeps me from wanting to ever try it. It takes a hack to beat a hack. All good mate, get some sleep, this will all still be here in the morning when you wake up. Cheers.

What do I need to set the minimum diff for in "worker management" anyone? It seems like I heard someone say 2024 in another forum before. Just curious if that has changed?
Don't set it. Ckpool's defaults are always the best. If you don't know what you're doing there, don't touch it.

Also, how often will the "Workers" menu update to see each rigs stats (Hash rate, etc.)?
Currently, hash rate updates about once every 10 minutes (that will change to 1m in the future) Everything else is instantaneous e.g. you'll notice that "Last Share" can say 0s.

Also, the reason I like GHash #2 in my list is because they let me know if a block is found. Which would mean CKPool is down. I got a notification from GHash approximately 2 hours ago telling me a block was found. I looked and saw we were down here for a few minutes.
Could not have been long cause you see my payout.

No, the pool wasn't down. Please limit your posts, or I'll start deleting them. You have 8 on this page already ...

Currently, hash rate updates about once every 10 minutes (that will change to 1m in the future) Everything else is instantaneous e.g. you'll notice that "Last Share" can say 0s. Okay. Thanks Kano!!! Although you deleted the actual post I was gonna reply to, I'll reply to this one instead The pool 5m hash rate shown will sometimes be pretty erratic when you start mining. We're changing that (the 1m comment I mentioned above) and that should make it more stable. However, you can check in cgminer for a more reliable hash rate as long as the driver isn't counting work incorrectly. Con's releases of cgminer using the drivers he and I wrote are usually pretty accurate However, if you aren't sure that you are getting the right hash rate based on accepted shares you can check that in cgminer with a simple calculation: A: * 2^32 / Elapsed A: is the diff1 accepted shares Elapsed is how long it has been mining at the pool If cgminer was started mining at the pool and only been mining there, then that will be correct for your payout hashing speed. You can also get that from the API summary command. A: is "Difficulty Accepted" Elapsed is "Elapsed" "A:" and "Difficulty Accepted" is what the pool has said - "yep those shares are OK" Edit: of course a small Elapsed will not be very accurate no matter where you check it, cgminer or the pool.

dmward- I imagine that the worker statistics page just hasnt had a chance to "catch up" in terms of your average hashrate, as I believe that the hashrate in the worker windows is calculated by the hour, which might explain why you see the hashrate you would expect in the top right (5 or 10 min calculation of GH/s). I could be wrong, but thats just my guess. I suppose kano should be able to give you the best answer but I figured I'd throw my two bits in.
edit: keep in mind that just because you have been hashing for 90 mins, doesn't mean that the pool is on your same schedule. What I mean is, say the pool calculates 1 hour hashrates every hour on the hour, and you happened to start mining minutes before the hour, that might explain your worker hashrate for your S4 being "low"
