If your intention is to imply that BCX's opinion counts (as anything except possibly to the contrary), I am flabbergasted.

What the guy said has not come true, so in my books whatever he says from then on, is just air.

This is the exact thing the Auroracoin devs  said right up until a few hours before I predicted the TW would hit.

When it did, geez did the convo shift over to "Hey BCX, we're all civil blah blah blah, we didn't mean all those bad things...."

I said 22 days which is October 11-ish into early Oct 12 GMT

500 BTC challenge is still open to you

Let see just how sure you really are.

~BCX~

Hey, BCAss,

I'm not civil.  I meant every thing I said about your drunken lying lonely ass.  You can look 'em up.

And I'll still mean 'em on the 11th, and on the 12th, and every day until you check into rehab or wherever people with your problems go.

BCX, we'd like to formally respond to this -

So what was your reason for attacking Monero and refusing to allow devs to fix your exploit?

They claim they've already TW proofed XMR and do not need any help.

~BCX~

In your post on September 17th you stated that you had found very specific exploits in Monero. Immediately, and in direct response to you, we asked if you could disclose the vulnerability to us privately so we could fix it. You did not respond to our request.

Subsequent to that post, in which you stated that you had no need or desire to attack Monero, you announced that you would be attacking Monero, and gave us 72 hours notice. At no point since we asked if you would disclose the exploit privately to us did we, formally or informally, claim that we had "TW proofed XMR". As it states in our ANN on Bitcointalk: "the official core team members are (in no particular order) - tacotime, eizh, smooth, fluffypony, othe, davidlatapie, NoodleDoodle". We cannot control what anyone else says of Monero, and if anyone has implied or stated that a TW-style attack is impossible that is not a view that we share. We are not naive enough to state that Monero is anything-proof, and we cannot categorically state that you do or do not have an exploit as you have not disclosed any details to us.

In addition, we have said and continue to say that Monero is alpha-level software, and is nowhere near the level of maturity Bitcoin has (and Bitcoin itself is considered beta software by its developers). We regularly have people providing assistance to the project, be it financial or direct effort or the imparting of some unique observation to us. We warmly invite and encourage assistance from everyone. We would never reject the offer of help unless we had a very specific reason to do so, and we most certainly do not reject your offer of help. We want to continue to make Monero better, and so any assistance you or anyone else can provide is deeply appreciated by us all.

Therefore, we openly and kindly invite you to disclose the details of the exploit to us privately so we may analyse and fix any exploits that may exist. You may do so by sending a private message to this account, sending a private message to any of the named core team members as listed above, or sending an email to dev@monero.cc

You say your dick is bigger but mine actually is.
My dick is big.  I believe in xmr.  Buy xmr.

Back on topic from these two longwinded trolls.  Any news on BCX?  Is he still saying the attack is on?

Now its time to make sure this piece of shit get banned after OCT12

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=815678.new#new

Nobody is getting banned LOL

You remind of the poster LTEX from Auroracoin, posting the same things in complete denial a few months back.

Go back three years and you even sound like ViperJBM from 2011 in Solidcoin

Or maybe a couple of those TRC bastards from a couple of years ago,

Every coin has a Nekomata and it always ends the same way.

Them eating every bravado post they made in reference to me.

You'll be no different.

~BCX~

Except that you didnt attacked shit and are just lies.

Annnnd the man is in the house.  Still motivated to give it a shot bcx?

Nemokata dude. .. facts on the coins he mentions back him up.

Why do you refuse to respond to the dev team showing all your demands have been met, and instead focus on non dev-team members comment towards or about you?

I will soon scramble my forum password hopefully for the last time (if God could only grant me discipline!).

If anybody has anything they want to say to me, please say it now.

I would like to make three points for the record.

1.  Based on what I can see cryptonote is the best anontech so I own some xmr.

2.   Risto, amorix, and friends do nothing but make me cringe.  Funding the devteam is the ONLY positive that I can see them bringing to the table.

3.  I sold off half my stash (again cut of bcx ... thanks for changing up time line there buddy)

4.  I own some bbr but have less faith in it being widely adopted.  If xmr has a 10% chance then bbr has a 1%

Four...four points for the record.

We thought we had found one, but when she saw your picture, she backed out.

We found a blind one, but when she smelled your breath, she backed out.

We found a blind one with a cold, but she couldn't prove she was under 14.

We did try.

Yea ... well I disagree.  I think there's enough room for ONE anon coin and one smart coin.

I do agree with you that it is probably less than what most people think as far as possibilities.   Xmr has a better shot than bbr

Bitcoin will die eventually when it gets to the point of needing to rely on fees instead of miner rewards.

My, oh, my, the emotions in this thread....

It's only money, people.  And really it's only maybe money.  It's alpha-test level software/protocol.  It's all speculative.

Let's all just hang out in the free-for-all and have a good time!

BTW, BCX, I "marked" you in the Polo trollbox.  You now own some BTM.

Expect pruning of ring signatures from XMR. That could be a major development. But I've already anticipated that. It is not sufficient by itself to elevate XMR to a Bitcoin killer.

But please allow me to point out an egregious flaw in your logic. Satoshi was mining when no one else was, so he got 100,000s of coins using only a few PCs to mine with. That is equivalent to a premine.

I don't consider it equivalent because when he was doing it Bitcoin was worth exactly zero, and its immediate prospects for ever being worth anything were remote. It was huge gamble to even bother paying for the equipment, setting it up (my recollection is that his setup was speculated to be more than a few PCs), keep it going, pay for electricity, etc. It is possible he "borrowed" resources from an academic lab or something, but still it took time to set it up. It literally took years before the coins could be monetized at all, even to buy pizzas. I don't even know if, without the benefit of hindsight, what he was doing was a good investment on his time and (maybe) money. If he was running a scam, it was a very, very long con, and a risky one.

Today, the situation is different. Pretty much any coin can expect to be listed on some exchanges relatively quickly (some right from the start) and have a clearly established and monetizable value, making easy for a pump-and-dumper to make a few big announcements and cash out, with no real intention to use the money to develop the coin. In fact businesses exist that do this on an industrial scale. Thus the entire model is horribly tainted by the market for lemons problem.

The other problem is that even with the above (or perhaps because of it), the amount you can cash out even with a premine is pretty small. Zoidberg said he is getting about 750 USD per month from his deferred premine, and that is after the price of BBR has been pumped. Before recent development it might have been 100 USD per month or something (not sure of the exact numbers).

He could have done a non-deferred premine instead. Assuming the liquidity to cash that out at current prices existed (which it doesn't), he could only raise about 27K USD that way. Hardly enough to fund a project. Even increasing his premine from 1% to 10% would only be 270K USD, with vastly greater liquidity issues, and still not really enough to soundly fund such a project.

So as far as I can tell premines are a magnet for pump-and-dump scams and don't work very well for funding legitimate projects anyway. A better approach is needed.

There are a few exceptions, if you have a very high profile and can generate huge hype before you even start, like Ethereum.
