It's always easy not to have any proof, no matter how simple they are.

And then claimed his intention to destroy the 16.3 Gapcoin Repository history?Huh?

Cause idiots obviously don't understand the "Alpha/Beta" &  "Pre Release" part.
There is no script, backdoor or trojan, as i know, you're totally crazy.

Transactions from 0.9>0.16 or 0.16>0.9 works fine for me.
0.9 works fine for me.
0.16 works fine for me.
Gapcoin works fine for me. If i see something, i point it out.

No problem, except your harassment to the project here.
(See the diff between an 'incident' and a 'problem', cf. ITIL: Incident management vs Problem management)

Mr. Higgins did the GH Primegap List Project web site, working with S.Troisi and the Mersenne Forum members.
Mr. Higgins did the GH Gapcoin Community-led Project web site.
Mr. Higgins did the Core client.
Mr. Higgins submit all gaps records !
Mr. Higgins is working on the amazing ACME.
Mr. Higgins is interested to help with the nvidia miner.
[...]
It was the Gapcoin's community that asked him for his help. And he's f*****g clear on every subject !
I myself consume a lot of his time ! There is so many questions.
But I produce some records, on a regular basis.
cf. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/gap/block.dws?1407005.htm

What have you achieved ?!  Huh

Have some respect, ****. Chill out and come on Discord if you wanna talk !

I myself consume a lot of his time ! There is so many questions.

1. Latest commit to the prime gap list - a couple of very solid Gapcoin record merit improvements. (Notification also added to the in-progress community web site.)

2. It's a pleasure

3. Thank you for your support.

Cheers

Come on guys, the hashrate is rising and no one is happy about that ?! (48M PPS peak yesterday!)
Thanks to those who joined the pool.
I want to hear some joy expressed.  Cheesy

There are always too few miners in the high shifts.
Absolutely no one wants to test ?  Roll Eyes
I can help you there.

'Member to visit https://gapcoin-project.github.io/

Technical HOW-TO compile and use optimised-to-CPU GMP and MPFR libraries

I just opened a Gapcoin Discord (invite).

For posterity, here are the lines that I use to cross-compile Gapcoin Core 0.16.3 for MSWindows.

Note: All the published pointers to the in-development 0.16.3 client are to my own repository
Currently, my plan is to make the gapcoin-project 0.16.3 client a minimalist upgrade, preserving only what's absolutely necessary for a Gapcoin port of Bitcoin 0.16.3 (i.e. the obvious cosmetic changes and Gapcoin-specific chain parameter values, some necessary changes to the block structure in order to carry the prime gap data, the replacement of the proof-of-work code, the difficulty modifier code and the reward code). This will make things usefully simpler for anyone else who might want to work on developing the core Gapcoin 0.16.3 client.

As for my own enhancements to the 0.16.3 client, I will offer a separate “de luxe” client with source code and binaries available from my own repository.

I feel this approach better reflects the decentralised nature of this domain - as I observe elsewhere, there is no “official” this nor any “official” that.

Cheers

Graham

Hi
I like your work. You put in a lot of hours into this projekt and I can see that. I have tried to to solve some blocks but I think I have only found so far 12 gaps with merit 28. Still hoping to find bigger merits.I don't have a AMD card so I use my CPU. The last one I found was this one today.

Nice !  Smiley

Indeed, to calculate a gap with merit > 28 is difficult. 'Logarithmically' more difficult. (or you need some kind of 'Luck')
And, in shift 33, you will find gaps, but you'll not hardly improve the existing records* of these Prime Gaps. Kind of a waste. (But not useless, Low shift = High hashrate = Higher network hashrate = Higher Difficulty = Higher minimum merit for gaps (and higher rewards for everyone))
* cf. Prime Gap List

For example:

Your record (block) is :
5740,C??,28.677447,Gapcoin,16-04-2021,87,845673412451...
and the current record for the Gap 5740 is :
5740,0,C?C,Gapcoin,2019,29.5399,85,2451301016220...

401091+ blocks were mined at shift 32 and around, so the gaps around have already been improved again and again, the chances of improving them are reduced. (With the same hardware and miner)
Of course, it's still possible! :
6514,C??,29.378649,Gapcoin,12-04-2021,97,1968898235788..
6594,C??,29.765900,Gapcoin,08-04-2021,97,16168707142690..

See the Discord invite in my last post.

Don't hesitate to try to mine using the CRT, to find records like this (better than current records):
10696,C??,30.172495,Gapcoin,13-04-2021,154,902067920..
23730,C??,26.761068,Gapcoin,16-04-2021,386,127206495673873...
23832,C??,29.046292,Gapcoin,02-04-2021,357,214488270708355..
24232,C??,27.320439,Gapcoin,14-04-2021,386,15836400496139...

Mining in the upper shifts increase the compute time and reduces the shares sent to the pool (and therefore the rewards), so if you want to get a few more gaps, it's better to mine in solo when using the CRT. (With a decent CPU, 8+ Cores). But current records have weaker merits, in general.
So, to compensate, I would be happy to compensate anyone who posts new (improved) records here, or on discord. (with a gap address)
Let's randomly say 50 Gaps
per record. (for the first 2000 Cheesy)

PS: GPUs are stuck (hardcoded) on Shift 32 (for now). Only 'gapminer-cpu' can vary shifts. And only 'gapminer-cpu' using CRT can go (efficiently) above shift (~)128.
For the CRT Miner, it's unclear but, tests/s are probably your 'hashrate'. Not the PPS. (Need to be proven)

Good Luck & Have Fun.

Thanks for your respond.

I have been using other shifts but decided to try shift 33 because according to the published statistics there were no work done on shift 33. It's also low enough numbers to find a decent amount of gaps per day.

I have tried the CRT miner but decided not to use it. It's not about it's lower reward but the fact that it puts a heavy load on my CPU. I don't have a graphic card for this code. So until then  I will put the effort at lower shifts that have not been searched and high enough to be possible to find a new record.

To me the hardcoded shift 32 is easy to change. To write gpu code for a newer GPU is much harder to do.

Have a nice day.

Crystal clear and Good logic, nothing to add.

Just see this, fyi. There are some 'Tipping points' with shifts and compute time/difficulty.
For shifts <=64, your hashrate is safe. Big drop @shift 65. (~-25%)

https://github.com/wizz13150/GapcoinStuff/blob/main/Data/%5BData%5DPPSDrop_Shift64Blue-65Red.png

The Gapcoin community thanks you. Smiley

PS:

Indeed.
A CUDA version of the required files "already exists" in another github repo. Need to implement them into gapminer.
The most important change required for the miners will be regarding Getblocktemplate, at some point.
Optimizations are another game, but definetly possible, I think.

I assert that John Allen Frey was the original developer of Gapcoin
Your assertion may has been proven wrong since j0nn9 (Jonny Frey) has been active on bitcointalk on March 23, 2018! Also he (or his script) has updated http://gapcoin.org/primegaps-length.php on September 10, 2019!

I have to agree. BitcoinFX’ assertion falls in the face of considerable evidence to the contrary to what is, after all, a very tenuous string match.

In addition to the contradictory evidence already identified by PrimeObsession and previous honest assessment :

1. The soubriquet “j0nn9” was in use in April 2014 by someone calling themselves “Jonny”, working in the crypto arena “Building MaidSafe on ArchLinux”, bylined “Gepostet vor 30th April 2014 von j0nn9”

2. The GAP donation address listed on gapcoin.org has seen activity in 2019.

3. The gapcoin.org website page for “Gapcoin’s highest found merits” carries the headline date “as of 2020 March 31”.

4. The DNS registration for gapcoin.org was renewed on 2020-04-30. The server hosting gapcoin.org is now located in Denmark, according to the DNS resolution, previously the DNS resolved to a German location.

5. The posts, code documentation and comments testify to someone for whom English is a second language. (No implications other than that, j0nn9’s English is a damn sight better than my basically non-existent German.)

6. “Jonny Frey” is not an unknown name in Germany - an example

This is my mininginfo. Program changes some parameters after some running times. currentblocksize, currentblocktx, pooledtx.
All quite normal, blocksize will vary (to a maximum) with the number of transactions included in the current block and the poledtx reflects the txs in the mempool waiting to be included.

I don't think most of these people who have mined GAP over the years and keep mining, care too much about profits.

Yeah I see that, and True of course. That's, I think, the Gapcoin's spirit  Cheesy

However, I'll be really happy to see old miners come and take a profit! I'll even support this profit taking.
Or at least 'something' if not a 'profit'. To pay elec(or another card/cpu  Smiley).

But now I'm mainly thinking of distribution. If none comes out, it's not really good.
I think the network would be the winner, in the end, if they move.

Now, the price can/should attract a few cpus or why not a few rigs.
I'll support the new miners (even if they don't care about the maths behind it). Within the limits of common sense ofc..

Unlikely. Native English speaker for one and also the depth of experience displayed and sophisticated coding approach taken in the 2014 CRT code (esp. the Evolution code) suggests otherwise.

I will be deploying some mini Nodes to run off VPS for Gapcoin Version 9 series.  I would advise everyone to switch to my Linux Asic Wallet miner or stay on windows 9.2 version if you don't care about security.  The Johnny Frey Version 9 Gapcoin miner can still be used with my Version 9 Linux ASIC wallet miner!

https:www.gitlab.com/gapcoin/gapcoin      This is where the repository is located for new Version 9 Wallets.

I should have more than enough time to deploy enough VPS to off-set BitcoinFX switching to Mr. Higgins' and before anyone trusts Mr. Higgins to code it perfectly.  Anyone who trusts him within 6 months is foolish.

I would advise NO ONE to use repositories that do not have a traceable record!

Mr. Higgins is Cloning other Bitcoins wallets and Rootsocking Gapcoin onto it.  It is good theory.  However it should be done by a team not 1 person.

He can hide any sorts of hidden code that is impossible to examine.

EVEN, if Mr. Higgins is the most upright person, is not the issue.  The issue is that that possibility should not even exist unless the person trying to wield it's use in a non-proper way.  There is no reason to try to hide ones work.  Open Source.l....ect....

Probably no one has the time to even check commits to Source Code Repositories anyway!

So it does not really matter except for an examiner to come in later when they find code malware.

Mr. Higgins is working backwords to hide the examiners from finding the coding logic!

Yeah I see that, and True of course. That's, I think, the Gapcoin's spirit  Cheesy

I'm not a Doctor. I have seen your lies about Graham when I checked out the thread. I would advise even you against using your wallet. The reason is that you have not any skills. Only a very dishonest prson woul attack another person in such evil manner that you are doing. Your wallets are not safe for use.

If you had the slightest skills then you would  understand that "inscriptionText"  does not mean that there is a script running. Trusting you with a wallet would be like letting someone fix my clock with an axe and a hammer as tools. I have used trace assembler so I know there is no way you can hide any evil code that I can't find. I can also sand box it. I have not examined Grahams code. I trust it in that way that I run it in a boxed enviroment. I have seen a few small bugs.

This thread is about a math coin and not about your problems. Please keep it in that way.

It's the "Logic" that is the issue.  Defend what you want, I don't want nor need a "doctor".

I have been using updated code using Gnu/Linux for 3 years now while there has been no alternative.  I don't care what you say or who you are!

Defend your only hope I don't care.

If everyone follows Mr. Higgins I don't really care either way.  But Gapcoin will never be an open source project!

People are pathetic.  I don't have time for such immature thought processes.

If you don't have the time to comprehend the discussion over several pages than don't try to jump in without understanding!

I do understand that you managed to compile a wallet by following advices from Graham. It took you a few months. Still great work. I will not take that away from you.

The problem is that you are lying about him.

You don't pay for his work. You don't pay for the block explorer. You don't pay for the website. Still you think that you can run this projekt.

I will give you a advice

You don't need to like Graham. You don't need to follow this projekt. And more.

You can pay a lot of money to take control of the most pow work but that will end up in that you are mining on your own fork. No exchange to sell to and more.

Or, which is cheaper . Clone this projekt. Pay for your own explorer and other things and it will be cheaper for you. Good luck with finding a comunity that likes ppl that lies.

All projekts needs a developer and a community. You don't need to agree with all that they are doing but until you can do better you should not bark.

I don't like ppl like you. Hiding without showing your name. Attacking ppls honor and work. Your lack of insight and skills is easy to see. I don't know Graham but seeing a real man taking all that shit and insults from a loser and still meeting you with some respect is amazing. That makes me trust his work and person more.
