For example a modest M.2 Raid will boost CPU Hashrate boosting about 5-15% at times.  Whereas a Good GPU will boost the CPU hashrate about 5-10% at times, however your won't get extra wins with a better GPU.  SSD M.2 raid will get you increase Block wins and will boost the entire network as well to avoid future Blockchain bottlenecks.  Much more important in this stage of the blockchain as opposed to focusing on get Pools and GPU mining!

GPU mining would likely ruin the Scientific aspects of this coin for small researches who want to run different more complex schemes which would not be possible if they had to compete with the modern Herd of GPU miners working a low Shift to control the hash-rate.

But if Jonn9 had finished the GPU miner it might be different.  No one has stepped up to fill his shoes.  So it is the OPEN SEAS WEAVING PATTERN.

Trisquel, CPU, M.2 Raid.  I can probably patch Trisquel together for the forseable future but large gaps will need filled with more labor as new Trisquel releases in future years.

The Raid M.2 is key for 32 bit system as per my previous posts about the difference of 64 bit and 32 bit.  Watch the Youtube Module to understand why this is.

Ayatollah words? This one is better:

“First thing you’ll learn is that nothing is what it seems. Ignore your assumptions. Don’t trust anything. What you see, what you hear, what people tell you, what you think you remember… We are Envoys, and we take what is offered. Let experience wash over you. Absorb it like a sponge. Expect nothing. Only then can you be prepared for anything.”

Now novaexchange.com has now closed its doors ...

Quote
Dear Nova Trader

The Board of Directors of the parent company has decided to set a new course for Nova and reshape the value offer into a new crypto trading experience. This means that on Monday, October 7, trading on Nova Exchange will cease and close. At the same time the Nova API will be deactivated.

The Nova Exchange terms & conditions are terminated. New terms & conditions are announced and will come into effect automatically in 30 days from this announcement, on October 25, 2019.
The most important part of this message is this:

This is purely a Business Decision.
    There has been no hack.
    There has been no fraud.
There has not been any wrongdoing of any kind whatsoever.
Nova Exchange will not assume responsibility for swaps or forks starting from today onwards.

Goobit Group, that owns Nova, also operates the well known Swedish bitcoin exchange service BTCX. Starting from 2012, our team is among the best and the most experienced in the world in dealing with crypto assets. Now, even if we can’t disclose our exciting plans today, we can tell you that Nova, in some form, will enrich and play a key role in shaping the crypto future for the masses, however not in the shape and form that you know today.
What happens now?

Obviously you, as a trader, are encouraged to withdraw your funds as soon as possible. Our team stands ready to help you get a smooth withdrawal process, however, the rules regarding identification (KYC), as stated in the terms of service that you have accepted when opening your account, must, and will, stand.
No identification - No withdrawal

It is as simple as that. Even though trading will close, we must comply with the law, and make sure that all funds end up with its rightful owner.

The Nova platform will be open for regular withdrawals for one month after this announcement; that is until October 25 at 23:59 (CEST). After that date there will be additional fees charged, and we can’t guarantee at what rate we can accommodate your requests. It might take up to 30 days, depending on the load. So please make your withdrawals at your earliest convenience and DO NOT deposit more funds in the now obsolete addresses that you have used in the past.

The Nova Team is very proud and grateful to have been of service to you and we are thrilled to come back with the new products we're currently building.

"The day when the world was divided into the material West and East, and no one presumed a major religious movement would emerge, the Gapcoin revolution stepped into the scene gloriously and mightily; it broke the frameworks; it flaunted to the world the outdatedness of the clichés; it put the religion and the material world together, and declared the coming of a new era. It was much expected that the leaders of deviation and oppression would react—but in vain. Whatever the right and left modernity did— from pretending to ignore this emerging and unprecedented voice to extensive efforts for suffocating it— just brought them closer to their indispensable demise."

Very depressing times for both Riecoin and Gapcoin :| .

You might try to contact Guytp to get Gapcoin listed in Zapple, and I am sure that XpoolX would gladly open a Gapcoin pool (and at the same time list the coin in XequineX).

I am surprised this coin is still around, I actually used to mine it back in the day with my R9 280X which couldn't mine ETH anymore. I think it was late 2016 early 2017. From what I recall it was only solo mineable and I had to use the main core wallet which was fine however I've had issues with the miner software.

My problem was that my rigs CPUs were all single core Sempron processors from the Litecoin mining days. And the way the miner software was coded was that you could mine with 1 GPU but if you tried and mined with more than 1 GPU then the CPU would get hogged at 100% and your speed would almost be the same. I think eventually I just mined with 1 GPU per rig and the other GPUs mined other coins like XMR.

So wondering if the software was fixed up for this? The prime verification should be done on the GPU and not send to the CPU for verification. Or is this not possible?

Unfortunately, the original developer passed away in 2017.

The GPU miner remains a work-in-progress and could certainly use some development, as could the Gapcoin wallet.

We've kept the Gapcoin network ticking along and we still broke a world record prime gap, mostly with folks just CPU mining in the wallets !

Proceed with some caution as the current GPU miner is 'old' (outdated for newer cards) and somewhat experimental, however, if we ever hit a hash rate similar to BTC - hell, we might even open up a star gate or something ...

Much is possible, with time, 'money' and increased community participation.

I assert that John Allen Frey was the original developer of Gapcoin

Your assertion may has been proven wrong since j0nn9 (Jonny Frey) has been active on bitcointalk on March 23, 2018! Also he (or his script) has updated http://gapcoin.org/primegaps-length.php on September 10, 2019!

At this 5th year milestone, I would like to thank Jonny and all the supporters of the GapCoin project. New record prime gaps await us ahead!

It's all rather odd indeed, I agree.

Despite my attempts to contact those potentially involved, no one has come forward, yet !

The gapcoin.org website remains hosted and clearly someone still has access to update it, perhaps it's Dr. Thomas R. Nicely ?

Clearly whoever is updating the site has more interest in the prime gaps over markets and value etc., Notice that the market links on the homepage have not been updated, for example.

Assuming that John Allen Frey was j0nn9 (Jonny Frey), we can only determine that as he clearly became unwell he might of passed certain aspects of the project to one of his peers, colleagues, academic faculty, an associate or perhaps a family member ?

No one in the gapcoin community here on bitcointalk has been able to determine otherwise. The record and bounty were certainly published from j0nn9's account, being the last post to date from that account.

It's certainly not me and I don't know who it is at present.

I am the sole owner and contributor to the https://gapcoin.club website though.

EDIT: This doesn't hinder Gapcoin moving forward, if anything it's a good thing !

Not only was the gapcoin.org - Gapcoin's new first known occurrence prime gaps page edited (as above), but also ...

The blockchain download / zip on the gapcoin.club website is not a bootstrap, so you have to unzip it and then copy it to the correct folder for your respective operation system.

I will endeavour to upload a newer version, however the existing one works just fine. I've tested it on windows and linux.
