Hey guys could anyone enlighten me on how private Cloak actually is with an available block explorer?
I just want to silence my own FUD.
Transaction sources seem well hidden as well as identities of wallet holders from what I can understand.

Not trying to ruin the triumphant gif parade but I just wondered if someone with enough skill could write a comparing script to check balances between addresses for a given block time frame and determine which wallets lost X amount of cloak and which wallets gained....
Would kind of defeat the purpose of the off chain mixing and such....

Tell me Im wrong please.

Transaction details are well hidden. I like that comment. Well hidden is understated by the way. It’s algorithm is incredibly complex. I hope you and others continue your efforts to solve the privacy issue though. This is how bitcoin evolves. Keep on trucking bud. Gltu.

Deepend, I'm the same guy who just asked you this question on telegram an hour ago, you don't need to respond to me like I'm cloakcoinscam.

I've invested a lot of money in this coin and I just want an explanation.

I did not do any such thing. The reason I responded was due to the fact that I showed you how complex every transaction was. What I showed you is available to everyone through the help console.  I have no interest in causing any ill feelings whatsoever.  I am a software engineer that solves the problems you discover. Not talking down to you at all.

The entire reason I got interested in cloak was due to a potential evolution in bitcoin. I believe this is gonna be a tough solve by those that may try to compromise it’s security. We will see!

Ok no problem, Yogi provided some clarity on Rocketchat recently.
The addresses he posted (not sure if it's only because it is testnet) cannot be detailed with block explorer 2.
No results are returned, from my understanding this is due to stealth addresses.
Only wallet balances are listed.

If this will be the case in the future my confidence in this project is back at 100%.

Thanks for taking the time guys excellent work!

In the light of recent good news and the imminent opensourcing of CloakCoin Enigma code, we would like to thank the community for all the support through these exciting times.
There is a bright road in front of us, an ascending one, that would not be possible without people who put their trust, money and time into this project.
Once again, a big THANK YOU for standing with us and for being on board.

We are striving towards providing a true currency alternative - a decentralized, anonymous, private, secure and untraceable coin for everyone.
Community involvement and opinion is extremely important in following the correct path - security audit and opening the source code to public is just the first step towards improving the concept of a globally accepted digital currency.
CloakCoin wants to hear from everyone - we are by no means perfect or all-knowing, common needs should produce common goals, which can be achieved with your input, advice and help.
Your voice will be heard and considered, your opinion will be noted and evaluated, your thoughts and ideas pooled into creating a roadmap.
People with different backgrounds bring different views - diversity of culture, education, social environment only makes us stronger and smarter as a team.
Ask questions, engage in constructive discussions and contribute in any capacity you can.

What a time to be alive, eh? Smiley

Sincerely, your dev team

Hey, so I asked this question in the cloak chat but never got a response and then had to leave, so I'll ask it here:

Is there any chance that I can run a pruned node that is staking, similar to certain Bitcoin nodes (probably not, but it's worth asking). I'm thinking about trying to start staking, but I'm not sure I want to sacrifice a bunch of hard drive space.

I'm starting a technology blog T4CH.top, check it out!

There could have been a keylogger that nabbed your password before it sent the wallet file. Sorry to hear that.

You can start a node using the daemon or the qt-wallet. Send coins to your wallet and wait. your coins will start staking. Once your wallet finds a block your get a reward, max 6% of the coins you hold in your wallet.
There is no minimum amount of CLOAK you need to have to be able to stake, but don't expect small amount to stake many times a day.

When they have your password/passphrase they can move your CLOAK. Did you check your address with the explorer ?
