I just opened Minercontrol with z-pool jason file in it... it's worthless to mine there. How much do you get with the opensource miner? Sorry for OT, haven't been in z-pool for a while, did they ever found that missing 20% of earnings? A GREAT DEAL OF LEGITIMATE CRITICISM FOR Z-POOL-- There were a great many well-documented complaints about missing funds at Z-pool. The owner's defense was "I am not a developer", and that he could not understand the workings of the pool's code. The Z-pool BitCoinTalk thread was closed after complaints were aired there. I don't mine at Z-pool any longer. --scryptr

Pretty sure the pool skims, I posted a complaint in the thread back when it was around like a year ago.. You lose 20-30% of your profits compared to what it's showing as 'actual' profits, even if your hashrate is spot on.

Neoscrypt has been a pretty consistent earner and a strong coin, has anyone looked into improving DJMs miner?

(skein) i'm trying it, but i don't have the fastest miner, only 360MH(400 with oc) on a 1070 but at 100 watt or lower per card, zpool say 0.015 per day with 2.5GH, let's see if this is true

You know it's a shame some of the bigger old coins are unprofitable to mine now. While they have a pretty healthy trade volume, their blockreward reached a point where it's not longer profitable to mine. Feathercoin for instance has healthy trade volume every day, but easily gets saturated by a handful of miners. Cryptonite is also in this boat.
Conversely, if emission is too high in smaller coins that don't have healthy volume they're easily crapped on by miners dumping minted coins.
I've thought about this over the years I've been mining. Someone really needs to release a adaptive block reward that relies on healthy trade volume. So if the coin is starting to die, the blockreward goes down and reduces emission of coins and keeps supply steady and of course if the coins is flourishing, it increases the emission to a certain extent. Volume is just an example, obviously more factors would have to play into this then just daily volume.
That is a immensely complex problem, but definitely could be done. No one has tackled it yet though.
Literally a idea for a big coin in a nutshell right there. Quote this post when it happens.

But the rewards should not be too high. Look at LBRY for intance. The coin just crashed..But now the mining reward is decreasing slowly, and the price on the exchange will pickup. I will launch a big coin soon. Make sure you mine with me in the early days. Pure POW, No premine, Fair launch, fast optimized opensource GPU miners at start, No bullshit.

I will launch a big coin soon. Make sure you mine with me in the early days. Pure POW, No premine, Fair launch, fast optimized opensource GPU miners at start, No bullshit. That was the whole reason I was talking about an adaptive emission model. If the coin is unhealthy, it will inevitably fold under the weight of mining, if it's healthy and can support miners it should also do that as mining generates interest, visibility, and productivity as well. There are some coins who solely exist because miners are perpetuating them. Currently coin emission models follow a linear distribution that is often arbitrarily decided before the coin is ever launched (or it gets a lot of negativity if it's changed later on), but that never takes into account what happens to the coin later on. That's also why I've talked about a flat distribution model after an initial ramp up period (pretty much what Zcash is) as there is almost no way to decide how to distribute coins later on. That's why you need an effective and dynamic system to take into account not only the health of the network (which we have already with difficulty retargeting), but also the health of the coin from a monetary standpoint (exchanges, volume is a generic indicator I'm using right now). No coin currently does this. Developers are often times keen on the technological aspect, but never on the economic aspect... Even the biggest current gen coins such as Ethereum and Zcash (Bitcoin and Litecoin are antiquated first gen coins) don't take this into account. How much money a country mints every year is not set in stone and for good reason.

If so, that would be weird as you'd be incentivized to keep a highly optimized miner to yourself and release a much slower one.

Yes of course .. but the price is worthless now.. oooo well.
The diff is falling again now.. After I released the new cryptonite miner, an hashrate of about 500 gtx 970's where added to the network hashrate and the coin became less profitable than ZCash. Nicehash also released a miner that is 30% faster for Zcash, so it makes sense to change to zcash... But I'll never see that .05 btc. If you make a new release plz put the -d option in and intensity setting plz.

that's the point of the coin, and probably supported by a closed-kernel with a def fee 2x accumulation. It should be fun, anyway. The more, the better. He has an incentive to invest on it in the long term, and it's not a bad thing

Zcash already did this... I mined on the launch day with 10 000 sol/s with a modded tromp miner. Now I have 100 000 sol/s with the same power. Somebody had a 10x faster miner at launch, and they made alot of cash. I am certain of it. But the launch was fair. The equilhash algo was published 6 months before launch.
The opensource will be published before launch for you to optimize. And I will make a testnet just to make sure everything works before launch..

But some users report bether rates with -i 32 and oc memory and core.

I dont understand the max mhs with xcn on gtx 1070 , is 20 , 30 , or 40 mhs for card ? .
With my version #3 20 is max on the gtx 1070. A 750ti can do 6 so the 1070 should do 35.. so you hold back 20% in the build. More profit in your farms. Less profit to small rigs. .05btc takes me 1 weeks to mine. Was making .065 btc a day. With the 750ti @6 and 1070@18 the 1070 is only 300% faster than the 750ti. With zcash the 750ti does 60 and the 1070 does 340 650% faster than the 750ti. Cryptonite is most profitable on the 750ti.
