Why is the chain broken? My wallet is not syncing and CANN is down for maintenance on Bittrex. Upgrade happening? Fork?

According to Bittrex status page, a double-spend attack. Keep pants on.

Where is your wallet getting stuck?

I cannot get past block 1061756 when trying a full chain sync, checking the debug.log the next block has not been sent to my node at all.

Last block in debug.log
Block 1061756 000000008b4910ff2c3dc86de55e6a5b2892b3f3621ff6e61dfb109b3db130d5

Next block shown on https://chainz.cryptoid.info/cann/ not seen

Looks a little bit off. The explorer says no blocks created from 3/16/17 to 4/30/17 but if you go to the blocks themselves there seem to have been blocks created then.

So right now showing no blocks for the last 3 days, but maybe when the blocks reappear there will be blocks that were created during that period. In other words somebody may be creating blocks but preventing other computers from advancing the chain. Then when they are ready to release a whole bunch of blocks the missing part of the chain suddenly appears, like with 1credit a while back.

Or maybe it is just a caching issue with the explorer?

hi all, complete crypto noob here  Grin
how is $cann value still fluctuating since auto-maintenance started?
Blockchain explorer says it is worth 560 satoshis when it was 516 a few days ago.

Also, i got in at 499sat, set tp at 549sat, what's gonna happen when bittrex allows it to be traded again, knowing $cann was at 519sat on bittrex when it entered auto-maintenance?

Looks like something more complicated https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@kingscrown/double-spend-attack-on-some-proof-of-work-coins-stopped-by-bittrex

reads like a steemit/bittrex/eth advertisement but is probably accurate

Upcoming changes will be made to increase hash and security for the CannabisCoin blockchain.

Mandatory Update CannabisCoin 0.8.7.0 will be announced when released.

Servers:
Two new CannabisCoin Seeders servers have been added (Done)

Supply:
Inflation model will be fixed, halving happened prematurely resulting in almost zero block reward and low network hash power. Model will be the same as Bitcoin in that the reward will halve when half the remaining coin supply is reached roughly every four years. For CannabisCoin’s supply of 420 million coins and Bitcoin’s inflation model the original reward should have been 70 coins per block. The reward will be set to 70 coins after the hard fork and the first halving will be at block 3, 969,725 and then every subsequent 3 million blocks.
CannabisCoins (CANN)

Rewards:
Mining Rewards will be set at 70 CannabisCoins (CANN) per block starting at Block 2,282,000.

Halving:
Block halving will be at block 3,969,725 and then every 3 million blocks after.

Wallets:
Windows, Mac, and Android Wallets will be updated and compiled to the listed specs.  For linux you can use OpenSUSE to compile different distros from source.

Coinbase Maturity:
Coinbase_maturity  will be increased from 30 to 100, this is the number of confirmations required before newly minted coins can be spent.

Other features:
Checkpointing will be enabled to protect the blockchain history
CAlerts is enabled for future use to notify clients of future updates
Updated seeder software for automatic connectivity

Github Source will be updated to the latest.

Announcement Page will be updated to reflect current changes

CannabisCoin Windows Wallet v0.8.7 Released for download Here: http://cannabiscoin.net/wallets/CannabisCoin-0.8.7.0-setup.exe

Thanks a lot CANN team for your efforts.

Was having a feeling that CANN would be missing out on the crypto bull run which is ongoing right now, where every xyz coin has been rising and accumulating their market share.
Hoping Bittrex would resolve their maintenance asap and allow normal trading to take place, so that we can join the craziness.
Long way to go but feels like we can see the positive sign on other exchanges where CANN price is improving significantly.

So will CANN rise in price!! #YESWECANN

CannabisCoin Windows Wallet v0.8.7 Released for download Here:

Hello,

I just started trading CANN and downloaded the new wallet for Windows.  It's been three days of running straight and it still says "synchronizing with network....  84 weeks behind"  - it started at 169 and has been slowly getting lower, but is this normal for first time use to take so long to sync?Huh?

Thank you!
