PHS has been one of my go to coins since July of 2013, minting about 15-25 a day now. Always been nice and stable, and the qt looks nice and works good compared to some.

how long does the 50% or 64% interest carry on for? this does not sound sustainable long term

also is POW finished totally now?

will this coin move to POS3 in the near future? like black?

I collect a lot of POS coins.

How many regular members does the community have?

Is the dev palm detroit quite active and visit the board quite a bit?

Hi.
Current client code has no rules that would lower the interest rate. Palmdetroit is active and visit this thread regularly
and he already assured that  it's easy to implement these rules that would reduce interest rate later. I guess we need to come
to common terms on what these rules should be.

It's hard to say how many members this community have, most people just mint and wait for prices to go higher on the next
cripto hype. I think it's a good idea to make a poll about what scheme to use to lower the interest rate and invite people
 to the poll via alert system in the client. It will show how many active people here and what the majority thinks.

POW finished totally more than a year ago.

There is no any plans to move to POS3 as far as I know. And I have doubts that Palm would implement changes that
 requires lot of work if price of PHS won't go higher.

thanks for you replies to my questions.

This coin seems to have a lot of nodes active which is a good sign.

I like the coins name and i like the fact it has been around for so long.

The interest rate seems very high but i guess that depends how many people are staking .

POS3 seems a very good way to ensure people keep the network healthy.

Anyway I'm keep hold of my phs for now and hope the community will grow over time.

Yeah we are still alive Cheesy im coming here from time to time to watch if i need to download a new client or something, but its the only coin where you have to do nothing than staking silently and i really like it Smiley
The bad thing is, that its only been traded on cryptsy, i just hate theese market since the new tier-rules and their damn withdraw problems .

On MintPal we where short before getting added but than it was a scam ...
Is there any way to integrate PHS on some kind of de-central market maybe?

Greetings

An extra exchange would be nice indeed! But which one should we target?

- It's great to see your interest in developing services on PHS!!
- What is the "nothing to stake problem"? the fact that you need PHS to start earning interest?
- Changing the size of the message is a good idea if it's for good/interesting services. If not:
  • if it has a small impact on blockchain size - fine that makes no difference
  • if it has a sizeable impact on blockchain size, I don't think it's a good idea. PHS works because many people stake, a big(ger) blockchain may be a hurddle to installing/using the client/staking

blockchain working? not connecting for me...

Block explorer seems to be offline, PalmDetroit will have to check into it.

But as far as active connections go. I am showing 17 currently.

Add this to your.conf file and then restart PHS
addnode=82.9.77.178
addnode=52.8.14.111
addnode=74.118.195.134
addnode=70.176.24.131
addnode=68.106.253.56
addnode=145.132.199.173

Firewall Tip for Windows Users,
My Connections after doing this went from 5 active connections to 15 active
Windows Firewall blocks ports for wallets sometimes, to make sure this is not an issue for you.
Windows :
Click start, click control panel, click Windows Firewall,
Make a note on which network is connected Home/Work or Public
Then Click on Allow a Program or feature thru Windows Firewall , click allow another program, click browse , then go to the folder with PhilosopherStone-qt64.exe , select PhilosopherStone-qt64.exe  , click open, click add ,
It should then be in the list of allowed programs with a check mark to the left and a check mark on the right side under home/work or public (you want it to be on the 1 that showed as connected), Click OK , and then reboot and restart PHS Client, so your active connections will double or triple.

I'm connected. But only to 4 nodes... Lately I'm experiencing this network behavior,  very few nodes available to connect to.

 Cool

I'm currently running the PHS qt-wallet on a AWS VM... Grin

I added the nodes to the config file and the firewall was already set.

But I can't get past the 4 nodes  Huh

Can you please share your .conf file?

Hi everyone, with the actual criptsy problems perhap would be interesting to try to add a really nice coin like is PhilosopherStone to another exchange for avoid the risk of get without exchange, too i think we should try to add this coin to some pool stake like coinwallet.co or similar.
what do you think about it?

So far, I had no problems with Cryptsy.

But having an alternate exchange can only be a good thing, right?

Sorry for late answer.

Changing the maximum message size itself won't change the size of blockchain at all. The size of blockchain depends
on how many people use the coin and the way they do it. PHS blockchain is tiny now because very few people use it
and almost all blocks have information about two standard transactions only.

If lot of people start to use PHS, the blockchain size would grow dramatically, but so do the PHS price.
And transaction fees would prevent blockchain from spamming.
