The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

if you're talking about bitcoinmax account, you need to wait for payb.tc to get up and handle the payments

Hi Otoh,

isn´t that made automatically?   last week i think it was right at 21 UTC with interest already included in this weeks balance when not withdrawn.

Isn ´t your account with the captain directly?

D) ask pirate about his reasons

my guess is that increasing consolidation of his accounts due to pass-throughs has led to him paying more coins for the same amount of borrowing. (i.e. it's more expensive for him to pay 7% on a few large accounts than 5% on many small ones totalling the same amount).

because he doesn't want to waste his time for a customer support related work.
so my guess would be: the fewer questions you ask him - the better deal you'll get Tongue

Will be waiting to hear from you on the state of things with the changes.

Seems like the changes mainly affect people who deposit directly with pirate that aren't a trusted account holder but I'm sure you'll have to contact him directly to clarify.

As it is now, the bitcoinmax page [shows] 6.9% interest for the upcoming week/next payment so it would be nice to find out.

The BS&T official thread mentioned that trusted vendors rates will be 5%+ so it seems like he's trying to get away from managing and tracking accounts himself towards having it done by people who run pass-throughs.

someone703 - I would agree.  That's what it seems.

I don't think there should be any rate change until the date he specified of 8/1/2012

The changes aren't going through until 8/1/2012, so until then nothing needs to be changed, much will be disclosed before then and we'll have a good idea of what is going to happen by then

Yeah, I just kinda realized that myself.  I saw 8/1/12 and thought 1st of the month and since the 1st just passed that the changes were effective immediately.

Lazy skimming on my part.

I look forward to hearing your take on the interest change.

In the meantime, thanks for this weeks interest and prompt payment.

Awesome work!

You're quite right, it was made at 21:00 UTC as were previous ones, don't know why I had 24:00 hrs jotted down (edit: I think that I had it confused with my local time or something), very much appreciated too pay.bc - I think that BitcoinMax will be a big winner from these new pirate rates as will his pass through investors.

Yep, I have a full 7% account with pirate but also invest through BitcoinMax so as to leave my pirate account constant without making any withdrawals or even PMs so hopefully trouble free for him, for 0.1% less I'm more than happy to pass through here & if I needed to make withdrawals & adjustments to the total invested would rather do it here - it's like a savings account & a checking one though actually I haven't needed to take any out of the checking & don't plan to soon but nice to have that flexibility if needed.

Since pirate's top rates are now going to be for deposits of BTC5k + I may well move most of my pirate investments here next month depending on what BitcoinMax offers, I also buy some of the GLBSE PPTs & goat's TYGRR.B-P ~ the more the merrier  Smiley

it's like a savings account & a checking one

anyone attempting to use bitcoinmax as a checking account or online wallet, will quickly discover it's not suited to that purpose at all.

although i try to pay out withdrawals as quick as I can, they're always subject to availability and may take up to 24 hours even for small amounts, as i may myself need to make a withdrawal from BST.

It's more like an online depositing wallet for me - I throw in micropayments from my desktop mining proceeds too.
