Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

There also needs to be a turning when just a few people keeping buying up every month and start spending because by 2018 PoW phase is over and then you survive on fees for mining . The downside of spending is it pushes the price down but is only way to generate fees for miners. With nlg as price grows so will the power behind the coin grow. Every coin has its opsticales but I know both will do well for the purchase they serve.

All right! Mind that the pow phase continues forever thanks to loyal mining. The oerushield serves to protect the network so we could even descend to GPU mining, don't worry about that.

Price of EFL will rise thanks to absent inflation. NLG will have to take in 57600 NLG worth of Bitcoin every day the next sixty years. Where will that com from?

it looks like the cli is not using the values set in egulden.conf and I have to specify them in the command line: this worked:

egulden-cli  --rpcport=21015 --rpcuser=xxxx --rpcpassword=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx getbalance

is there a specific reason for this?

thanks

The conf file for egulden is against all conventions named ~/.egulden/coin.conf

This coin will be delisted from Bittrex soon. Volume too low, community too small. Expect 100k market cap.

Whomever bought all this EFL today. Better pump soon, or else it will be too late.

thanks - I guess that goes hand-in-hand with all the remaining references to 'Litecoin' littered throughout the source code. Smiley

Well you saw one or two using cli maybe. Stopping the server. We are not hiding our origins. Others do.

Bittrex has it's hands full delisting coins that suffer double spends. e-Gulden is the only Altcoin in the POW shpere that tackled that problem.
All right, you might include checkpointig, but that is a laugh. That is a blockchain that needs external supervision.

So what are you talking about?  Rather read something about it: https://e-gulden.org/index.php/The_e-gulden_oerushield

All-right for what it is worth. The comment of @bittrex on our oerushield extension: "coo, like fonzy".
We are listed since april 2014 and never failed any requirement. Again, what are you talking about?

Hello, dev. Who is the owner of guldenplaza.nl? This is a official site from developers, or not? Thank you.

Guldenplaza is a private initiative. The official dev publication site is https://e-gulden.org. Mind that e-Gulden is a countrycoin and that we strive to service and educate the Dutch market.
Specific core issues are translated, such as https://e-gulden.org/index.php/The_e-gulden_oerushield. On core level there are no secrets. If you have specific questions please ask.

The main e-Gulden parameters can be read in english on our bitcointalk-annoucement: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=843017.0
Our opensource code base is off cource international and available at https://github.com/Electronic-Gulden-Foundation

Thanks for the Good luck.

You probably missed the message "Make sure your wallet connects to one of our servers".
Just add the following line to coin.conf and restart (create it if it does not exist):

addnode=dnsseed6.egulden.org

Gulden did not solve that problem. It copied "checkpointing" from feathercoin. So feathercoin was your saviour. Checkpointing is a quick and dirty solution though. Gulden is like a blockchain that needs to be supervised by something else. Like an infant chain.  Good luck with pow2. We saw the functional design but dare not look at the outcome.

Hi, I am a bit confused of this pair Electronic Gulden and just Gulden (NLG). How are they differ in the value they offer to the Dutch society?

Hi Naska,

It is very confusing. It's deliberate obfuscation of the Gulden-team. e-Gulden(EFL) came first (block 1 = 2014-03-19); Guldencoin(NLG) came later (block1 = 2014-03-29). After the large e-Gulden media campains guldencoin hitch-hiked on that.
September 2015 Guldencoin changed their name to Gulden obfuscating the difference even more. They market specifically in the Bitcoin-spheres presenting themselves as the dutch country coin but their main expressions are in English. In the Netherlands Gulden focussus on convincing merchants (about 100 now (of about 2 milion businesses)) to be named as acceptants. The e-Gulden-foundation focusses on education and expresses itself mainly in Dutch. You can clearly see the difference in content by comparing https://e-gulden.org/index.php/nieuwsbrieven with https://gulden.com.

The different styles of operating are also quite visible. A few examples:
- Gulden hijacked e-gulden.com and redirected it to gulden.com. The team looks, feels and smells "commercial". The e-Gulden Foundation uses the .org domain and is founded by community volunteers.
- Gulden promised to donate 90% of their premine to the Dutch for educational purposes, but they are using it (60% already) to boost their marketcap. They removed all premine accounting. The e-Gulden foundation promised the same and they stick to that promise presenting accounting up to the satoshi https://e-gulden.org/index.php/campagnes
- Gulden (NLG) total supply will be 1,6 Billion, e-Gulden (EFL) total supply will be 21 Million. No problem but they should have called themselves Cent, knowing EGulden already exists.
- Allong with changing their name they also removed blockreward halving and dropped the blockreward 90%, clearly to the benefit of first-year miners. The next sixty years there will be mined 55.000NLG daily. Seven years from now there will be mined 1 EFL daily. Current price is about equal.
- NLG resorts to a Applying a future pow2 concept which is a merge between POW and POS combined with supernodes. A technical monster :-) . e-Gulden implemented Oerushield, favouring loyal miners and eliminating 51% attack/double spend problem, and enabling infinate operation. A loyal base of GPU-miners will do.

Thanks for detailed clarification. I wonder which one gets mass  adoption in Netherlands. I have heard that  merchants over there maintain  strong  adoption of NLG. But what about e-Gulden?
