Just watch how this is about to change. It s obvious people see Factom as the next in success line, after Ether.

Since Ether s already big time pricey, people go after Factoids, hoping they can repeat Ether price jump. Having in mind the fact Factoids are limited in quantity for now and Milestone 2 should be finished soon, I d say they re right.

I know I spend every satoshi I have to grab more Factoids while I still can.

Also, any form of dev team support, posting, info communication at this point would be very useful.

Now many people believe in Ethereum, now many are starting to believe in Factom, so that in the near future we will see more price rise FCT, especially when it is presented Milestone2

I d say I have more faith in Factom then Ether. Why?

Factoids ve got very clear and specific every day usage, if developed as they should be. Also, factoids cannot be mined so there no everyday supply of new coins ATM.

Very potent combination, IMHO.

Let s see what happens over the next few days and weeks.

As the Entry Credit (EC) price is fixed, a higher Factoid price will increase the number of EC's per Factoid; so the higher FACTOM market cap is increasing the available number of EC's.

It's as good as a currency to me, I'd be happy to get paid in Factoids.

Most likely you think is correct, how else does not explain such a large imbalance with China FCT prices (+/-82,5%). Good time for to buy FCT in China and sell at Polo Exchange.

Thanks, the page did not open for me on Google Chrome but IE11 worked. Downloading Factom blockchain now. A bit weird though that there is no Security Setup on the Gui Wallet? Is it not possible to set it up with a password ?

Next to numbers/money bitcoin transactions can include a short message in the blockchain.
These can be considered a public record of having written something at a certain point in time/timestamp.

These messages can include fingerprints (hashes) of longer files, which wouldn't fit in there http://proofofexistence.com (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6809929 )

Factom also wants to store hashes of files in the bitcoin blockchain messages.
But to efficiently only store a combined hash describing the whole factom storage tree (hash of hashes of hashes),
assuming that the single hashes actually representing proofes of a file&date each do NOT need to be stored on every single node of a blockchain like bitcoin but
only need to be stored as redundantly/securely as the respective authors/owners wish.

Ethereum and Factom are not necessarily more related to eachother than any other two blockchain projects.

Valuation of blockchain projects can be difficult.  Some could be worth several times more others rather less.
- Yet compared to the last days, weeks, month, the price and volume is either pump & dump or insider-trading.
The chinese exchange is still at half the price just as Factom's competitior Emercoin.

I bought a good FCT stack some time ago and welcome the price increase.

Two questions:

1) Is there any news which have caused the 100%+ increase over the last days? I have followed the thread but I could not identify something that could be the reason?

2) Factom uses the Bitcoin blockchain to store data. How is Factom affected through the current Bitcoin blocksize and consensus debate? Could it be fear for Factom?

Web GUI wallet was released only in one trial, so do not use it safely! This is just a trial version not for everyday use. You use it at your own risk!
