So someone just purchased 12,000 BTC in less than a minute but it only went up 30 cents during the buy.

How does that happen, some kind of bot putting up new asks in response to sales ? If so it was pretty fast to do so.

I noticed immediately after this large buy someone listed more than 1000 BTC for sale at less than $60

Edit : my figures only accounted for half the buy due to Gox cutting me off from the live feed on the Clark Moody website.

Was it 12,000?  I saw 5000 or so on CM, but then it derailed and disconnected
