I have only used this service once or twice, but it worked out well and I am a big fan of what it is here to accomplish. Well done.

Heya all. I tried the "Download PDF flyer" feature today. It looks good but there is one issue: Accented Greek letters and the letter sigma (the lower case one in word-final position) don't appear correctly inside the PDF. Other than that, congrats kangasbros once again for the nice service

Other than that, congrats kangasbros once again for the nice service Thanks for the bug report, added to the TODO list I'm a little bit overworked right now, but I'm pretty sure I'll manage to push out more new features next week. And also for those willing to look for "good deals", check out this feature: https://localbitcoins.com/advanced_search

We got that reports of scams from user "kickerbat".
Please keep in mind:
- LocalBitcoins.com is meant for local cash transactions, not western union/paypal/bank transfer etc deals. - If someone suggests that you send the money using these methods, it might be a scam - Look at the price. People usually don't give money for free. Sometimes there might be bulk sellers, who want to get rid of lots of bitcoins, but that is pretty rare. - In case you are doing this kind of deal, look at the ratings/profile.
Other than that, we will keep developing the site further and making it easier (and safer) to use. Thanks for the users, and for all the feedback/suggestions.

I'm noticing the number of countries and cities increase. Can you provide an updated total of active traders? Maybe broken down as total (buying), total (selling) and total (buying and selling) (which would be less as a person that both buys and sells shouldn't be counted twice)

However on the statistics side I won't invest any resources there, since making the site better otherwise is on much higher priority IMHO. Sorry for the slow updates. We are kind of overworked right now, but I still believe in the sites future and plan to continue developing it.

I want to register my otc account with LocalBitcoins, but my OTC account was done with GPG and not a Bitcoin signature. Is it possible to regster my OTC account? I've tried submitting my GPG signature and it doesn't seem to work.
|
Do not waste your time debating whether Bitcoin can work. It does work.
"Early adopters will profit" is not a sufficient condition to classify something as a pyramid or Ponzi scheme. If it was, Apple and Microsoft stock are Ponzi schemes.
There is no such thing as "market manipulation." There is only buying and selling.

You have to add bitcoin address to your bitcoin-otc profile. ;;changeaddress <bitcoin_address> http://wiki.bitcoin-otc.com/wiki/Bitcoin_address_authentication

Hi, a security issue was found with the localbitcoins.com transaction feature, and therefore all outgoing transfers are now handled manually. The site can still be used, but you have to use direct methods for doing the transaction (mobile/laptop/paper wallet/etc). Please not that all customer funds are safe - just don't use the transaction feature. http://localbitcoins.blogspot.de/2012/10/localbitcoinscom-transaction-feature.htmlTo make a claim, log in and contact us through this form: <deleted> This way we make sure that it is the right guy requesting the funds. Provide your bitcoin address so we can send the funds to you. We sincerely apologize for the hassle. Edit: the issue is now researched, fixed & tested, and the transaction service is up and running again.

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

Can anyone log in at all? I can. Strange. No, I'm not getting successful login. I was able to reset the password but even that new password didn't yield a successful login. Browsers tried: Chrome v18, Firefox v15.

Browsers tried: Chrome v18, Firefox v15. Been researching the problem, it might be performance related. Might also be something else (something related to the session cookie, or server running out of session space). In any case we are upgrading the server ASAP, today or tomorrow. Edit: sometimes clearing your cookies help.
