To value Litecoin only as a currency is short sighted - its value lies in its network.

Some benefits that comes to mind:

- Litecoin is capable of 4X the amount of transactions per hour, compared to the bitcoin network.  
- Litecoin is a better candidate for colored coins (NASDAQ, Overstock Medici project, etc).
- Litecoin code is at par with bitcoin code (rev 0.10.2.2 - June 16th release).
- Litecoin SPV development is also very alive - Electrum-LTC is at par with Electrum-BTC, same for the Electrum-servers code.
- Litecoin is supported by hardware, multi-coins and multi-signature wallets (Trezor, Ledger, HW1, with Encompass / Electrum-LTC / MultibitHD / Hive)
- Litecoin has a strong mining network

Check point warning is longstanding annoyance, but doesn't seem to interfere with functionality.  Version 1.5.2 is not syncing for me too, the older QT is.

  i'm trying the 1.5.2 ver also - up to yesterday 5:pm  blk # 337907 sf ...

can you share you conf? peer? I can't seem to sync...

Brief Overview

It is'nt the prettiest but it works.

seems the code likes to drop connections after a few 1000 blocks.
so yes pain in the arse to download.

I have spent several days.  Loading. Closing when it seems to be spinning its wheels, and Restarting.
You can not just let it run.  You have to on/off sporadically.
I am a 57 days left to go after starting a down load from the genesis block.

   i got back into mega, so here's a new BC archive for those that can use it. this is the full roaming folder (without the .dat ofc) so you should be good to go, not sure exactly when i quit, but should get you up to ~ 07/14/15. my staking session went fine with plenty of peers

Got mostly synced up.

It appears there is an issue that if you leave the wallet open but not unlocked for staking the sync gets stuck.

I suggest unlocking for staking while you leave the wallet open.

I am also staking (last time I checked was on 12th). Just fired up the wallet again, mostly synced (2 hours of blocks left). Then it will start staking again I hope.
