How many of you guys running S5 over clocked?

How is the result on power consumption and HW error side?

Also, OC, you definately need 4 PCI-E plugs connected but for normal stock operations anyone running S5 with just 1 PCI-E connection to each hashing PCB?  We know it works, but again, being curious if anyone is successfully doing so on the customers end.

Please DO NOT burn the chips while OC them.  Keep them plenty of air flow and keep them as cold as you can be.  RMA techs may birth a cow or two when they see burnt BM1384 chips

I received my S5 yesterday. Damn it was a LONG day at work. 
Anyway. As I am STILL waiting for stock of the Raidmax RM1000. I decided to give my Gigabyte 730w PSU a go.
1x PCI-E plug per blade. Runs for 4hours stable @ 175mhz @ 42C. Funny thing is ambient temp last night was 38C. Weird.
I dont want to push it and damaged the S5 in anyway.
Going to try build a 'vertical' case for the S5 this weekend.

Why on Gods green earth are you crunching diff 2048 shares ?

I would recommend setting the S3's at diff 256 and the S5's at 1024.

Yeah drop down the S3 difficulties and you'll get more balanced earnings.

Are you sure it would change his earning? From what I understand, it shouldn't. He'd only get a more accurate hash rate reading pool-side.

Average earnings will be the same, but he'll get more day to day variance, and hour to hour harder to see if units are behaving or not. [Potentially a minor reduction in earnings due to more stale shares.]

38C is not a problem, I've tested my unit up to 45C and it doesn't make a huge difference over 35C. Some weaker PSUs [100% loaded CX750Ms] start to drop out, S5 fan RPMs are maxed but temps are still acceptable.

[Actually answering your question this time, misread ] Do both blades report the same temps?

Apparently this is pretty good I am lucky that I am in an area where it is freezing out and will be for the next little while. I have an insulated unheated garage and can keep the ambient air temp at about -3 C. When summer hits I will have to dial it back.

I can absolutely guarantee that you didn't find 6 BTC blocks with a single antminer. I had various generations of Bitmain miners "find" dozens of blocks according to the miner stats. Unfortunately they were simply errors on the stats page.

Hummmmmm 6 blocks.  It can be possible but if you found that many, you might want to go buy a lotto ticket just in case.  Your luck may be super high!! 

We've seen people finding blocks with even S2 like bang bang bang, all of a sudden in a shared pool and seen some with USB miners hitting a block in solo mining.  But wander if those 6 blocks were BTC block or altcoins or unfortunate firmware bugs.

It is not an error, it is simply an artifact of how pool mining works. Workers are working at a difficulty far below the network difficulty. If a worker "solves" a block at the assigned difficulty or above it will report a block found in the stats. But when the stratum server gets the block it will not submit it unless at or above network difficulty.

What you're describing is the number of accepted shares, which is different than found blocks. If he only found six diff4096 shares in four and a half days, I'd be sending that S5 back for replacement.

He's using Nicehash though, so it's possible he's found 6 blocks on an alt chain with a much lower difficulty.

In the Netherlands it's hard to buy a Antminer S5, shipping cost from the VS is insane..

Since EURO looses its value towards USD Antminers are getting more and more expensive since Bitmain sells them for a price based on USD.
Beside the fact that Bitmain has risen the price from 310 to 370 USD the Euro lost ~10% of its value. It will be hard to find them much cheaper and so it does not make any sense at all to buy them if you are hoping for ROI some day...

I will wait until a S6 is out and perhaps i will buy that one

it's nice hash    or west hash need i say more .i have yet to hit one BTC block any place I'm ware of, but all ways hit alt coin blocks all the time . at west nice hash hes alt coin mining , on CKpools he would be mining noting but bitcoins they seem to hit one or two a day there .on Eligius Pools it looks like BTC and Name coins. on mining.bitcoin.cz notihng but  bit coins that's the impressive one it can go days and hit btc after btc and then some weeks one or two a day if there lucky . and some of them are ten min or less blocks i saw a 4 min block there once then bang it hit another etc

The second blade always seems to report 2-3C lower temps.
So far 42C @ 175mhz. Waiting for new PSU before i turn up the frequency to 350mhz.
