You probably got banned because the system thought you were geo spoofing. The system has to be extremely secure so that no one can geo spoof all the coins and withdraw them. There is over 10,000 $GEO on that site and that number will grow and become more valuable.

How can this be fixed?

Pokemon go solution is to ban you if you go faster than 15 kms.

I would suggest a better way to prove you got the coins without geo spoofing would be to take a picture for people to verify. These coins would be able to be withdrawn after 1 day. Other coins might have a 30 day wait period before you can withdraw them.

The unfortunate truth of all cryptocoins is the technology does not exist yet to really do all the amazing things we want it to do. It will probably be years before $GEO is being used all over the world without bugs.

the coins were at the middle of a walking only bridge. i got there on foot Smiley and no matter what the tech is, the basics of this coin don't function. no working wallet/blockchain etc. or if it is working the info is not here for me to read. i wonder how the transactions are even taking place. i'm looking to get out of my position on polo. will be back if problems get fixed.

It looks like the blockexplorer is dead.

There is a block explorer here:
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/BlockExplorer?coin=GEO

Maybe this coin is dead... not sure.

If your wallet isn't connecting to the source try adding some nodes.  Help > Debug window. Then enter these commands one at a time

addnode geo.suprnova.cc add
addnode 198.27.81.25:9748 add
addnode 37.187.27.4:9748 add
addnode 54.89.21.44:9748 add
addnode 212.129.1.77:9748 add

My wallet says 5 active connections and is up-to-date, hope that helps

Maybe the dev got sick of doing most of the work and not having the potential to make much money. This happens a lot with these 0% premined coins. The dev only took like 35,000 coins. Even if this coins goes to $1 a coin that is only $35,000 for the dev.

Should we hard fork in more coins for the dev? And maybe some 3rd party dev bounties. Maybe turn this into a DAO where the DAO manages the new premined coins made in a hard fork.

The only other option is to wait until the devs have time to fix the site and build more features. I think we need a profile feature. With an avatar you can see in augmented reality. Of course a feature like this would cost a shit ton of money like $50,000.

The other option is make a donation fund where people donate funds to the dev or a GEO DAO.

This project needs to upgrade to an Android app as well. HTML5 isn't good enough for this project.

why don't you guys try and build Geo Blockchain App on top of popular platforms like lisk or eth, it would get you the deserved attention and could only benefit GeoCoin project.. you could swap GeoCoin for GeoTokens on Lisk for example. just idea i had on back of my mind. Potential is sure there with recent Pokemon fever  Grin just get exposed.

I think this could switch to a $SHF or $EXP token. They're both doing a lot of good work lately to stay up with Ethereum. It would also give 3rd party DApp developers like myself a chance to acquire enough of the gas fee payment token that we wouldn't need to worry about paying the gas fee for everyone.

The reason I'm here today is because I need a GIS question answered by the experts here. I need map data.
Where's the best open source map data?
I'm familiar with sqllite. Something like that would be useful for creating Geo Go. I can probably work with any map data, sqllite isn't required.

For now the map data should probably be extremely basic. Think something like minecraft map data but for the real Earth. Fancy stuff can come later on.

The best source of open source map data I can recommend is OpenStreetMap!  I found a blog that offers derived OSM datasets, you are likely looking for the Land Polygons dataset.

http://openstreetmapdata.com/data

The most important thing to consider is what map projection you are planning on using.  Those listed as WGS84 will be using lat/long as the units, whereas the others listed as Mercator are using the Web Mercator projection perfect for building your own Google Maps, OSM map or any other major online mapping company (Bing, Yahoo, Apple etc.)  All the files on this blog are available as shapefiles.  If you need some GIS software for viewing these shapefiles, I highly recommend you use the latest version of Quantum GIS (QGIS) which can be found at http://qgis.org/en/site/

Just wanted to add that if you're looking for a minecraft style, you can check out this plugin for photoshop.  A colleague of mine referred it to me and it looks pretty cool.  http://www.3d-map-generator.com/

If the dev is really skilled and smart, they should have no problem getting an investor who would buy a lot of $GEO for cheap and then work hard to make it $10 mil marketcap or something like that. So the number of coins is not the problem, rather the lack of market enthusiasm in the coin is. That tells there's a lack of marketing and charm in Geocoin. Even if the dev had 20% of the total coins, it would still be just $20k at current marketcap.

Having wallets disabled is fine with me. At least I know my coins are safe. Many of the new big coins like $STEEM and $LBRY control withdraws of coins for security reasons.

Withdraws are currently disabled on steemit.com as well as on geocoin.cash
