I tried tweeting to all the team members.  The only person who responded was Boxxa and he told me that his involvement ended after the first few weeks once the main development work was done.  He doesn't know what has happened since with the other team members.  I didn't see this mentioned anywhere on this forum (I suppose I could have missed it) - would have been nice to know this earlier.  Perhaps this was a deliberate attempt by the remaining team members to hide this rather important information - if Boxxa was the main person doing the development work then it seems rather short sighted to let him go without replacing him since so much still needed to be done - (e.g. marketplace etc.).

Also Penn, Dadon and everyone else, I can't see how this can be saved either.  We'd need someone with sufficient programming/coding ability and some sort of plan for what to do as a substitute for the social media advertising aspects (which is obviously under the control of the dev team).

That is a cop-out by Boxxa big time. He was one of the main devs and spokesperson's for this coin. Whatever.....no point in continuing to complain. Might as well suck it up and move on and take this as a very painful learning experience (kind of like my ex wife  Cry)

Well whatever the internal politics of it - as far as I know it was never made clear that he had left - I can only assume this was deliberate.  I suspect that his leaving has a lot do with the missing of deadlines and the original promises vaporising - without a proficient coder on the team it is only a matter of time before a coin will fail.  Anyway that doesn't really change anything now because the remainder of the team have bailed without the balls to even let any of us know or provide us with an explanation.  I think the best we can do is avoid anything that these people ever do in future and warn those who are unaware of their misdeeds with SMAC - they may have gotten away with this but they shouldn't be able to do it again.

A slow agonising death after the dev team disappeared.  It may not have been a scam originally but the fact that they had the ICO funds and buggered off without a second thought makes it the same in the end.  I wonder how many BTC they each made from basically doing nothing.

I would urge everyone affected by this to at least tell the individual members of the dev team what you think on twitter (seems to be where they are most active) - the handles are all listed above in a previous message.  They may not want to listen or care but this should at the very least not die silently without them getting any flak for it.

There is no saving this coin, it was a poor idea to begin with.  Good marketers don't need and ICO and a coin to make money marketing.

This coin might p&d but its a terrible idea for a digital asset.  Profits will be minimal and go straight to Devs as coin price bleeds to death.

I'm amazed that this is still on Bittrex - August 28th has come and gone.  Is there some secret reason it hasn't been removed?

I don't think the admins wait around patiently to remove all the shitty coins.  No volume means any attention is a waste of time.  I'm sure they just set them aside and remove dozens of markets at once when they have nothing better to do.

I know but this has been pending for ages and the wallet has even stopped syncing so it just seems like a liability.  I know they used to do a removal every couple of weeks for multiple coins.  Perhaps they haven't reached a critical number of coins to remove and that is why it hasn't happened.

Dear Community, the SMAC team wants to sincerely thank everyone who has supported this project we are very upset to state that this project will now be closed due to the social media account we acquired being suspended after twitters most recent purging of accounts that violated their TOS. We have contacted twitter many times in regards to getting our accounts back but the chances are not good they say we have violated the TOS and will not be restored access. We have one instagram account left and are in the process of selling that. The funds that we do get from that account will be given back to the community to hopefully salvage some of the loses that may have been experienced.  Again we are just as upset as you are considering we have almost 300,000 SMAC coins that are now worthless. This project is official closed.

What a load of bollocks.  If this were really true then why not inform people earlier - by going completely silent and disappearing for weeks  - YOU are what killed this coin.  So FUCK OFF and never show your faces in crypto again.
