SwCpoker - THE BEST  bitcoin poker room I mean design (it look like poker room for real money)
but every time when I run it I've got message "The client must be restarted. Press OK and restart the game client."
I uninstall / download a fresh copy and reinstall, and in 2 days I've this message again, is it normal? I'll get this message always when new version appears?

Hello, I can´t play.
My client always asks to upgrade. It starts to update and do that, but when I try to open the client it upgrades again, and it keeps doing that.
I've tried desinstalling the client and deleting swcpoker file, I install again but I find the same problem.

Thank's for your help, I hope you can help me.

uninstall / download a fresh copy and reinstall.

This, if you can get it through, has been solving most issues.

please post here if you still can't get back on after the recent updates, describe your issues.  ST7 is monitoring this thread and most users report stable playing once the new client is installed.
Hello and thanks, but it doesn't work for me. I've tried following nomnomnom's instructions for virtual machines too, but not work. It keeps upgrading and upgrading.
I'll be seing this threat for more help, thank you very much

Latest attempt within the last hour. clean install of win7 in virtualbox with default settings (1gb ram), fresh download of setup file. Client installs, when opened for the first time prompts 'client software must be upgraded', press ok, client begins to install. Goes like this; 'preparing to install...' requests admin access (press ok), 'please wait windows configures...' and it quickly disappears before the bar fills, when i attempt to run the client this process repeats.

Second attempt using the same install of win7 with the ram turned to maximum possible (1954mb) and network adapter setting changed to 'bridged adapter' as per nomnomnom's suggestion; uninstalled client in control panel, reinstalled using the same setup file. results were identical.

I hope that helps a little bit.

Are you able to start the client directly? Please try running swcclient.exe in the program folder.

the client opens (showing 0 players active the whole time) and promts 'client must be restarted...' which closes it.

Micon,

As you were a member of ST6 I am asking you to help make this right to affected players.
Thank you

Please see my latest post in the sealswithclubs thread here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40077.6080 and quoted below.

"I have been a loyal player on seals for a while now. I knew while playing that some days collusion happens, but I trusted seals would do the right thing as they always have. In June I received  ~ 300 chips in collusion refunds. Since then players have received NOTHING!

We were told the backlog would be paid out early this year.
This 8 month backlog still has not been paid out to affected players and I played a lot during this time.

*SNIP*

I am asking you to make this right,
Thanks
"

You got 300 chips??? I got 27 chips all time and i played enough over 2 years to accumulate 200k krill........

+1

A few days ago, I had two programs with the beginning "swcpoker..." in Control Panel - Programs. Now, I've only one,
swcpoker.exe, the other one (swc-msi)  doesn't appear.

edit: after several tries, I've got login and now i'm playing.

1)  We just applied an update to further increase stability

2)  I understand the install issues are still affecting some.  This is being actively worked on

3)  I have read the requests concerning old-Seals collusion payments.  Realize I have no control over old-seals.  If I am ever in contact with them again I will pass this information on behalf of the players.

I am not sure if they changed something serverside, or if the changes to my
virtualbox guest made it work, but if you have a vm and it still not working try:

-Give the vm more ram (i upped it from 2GB to 4GB)
-also up the videoram to max
-switch the vm networking from NAT to bridge-hostnetworking (so that the vm has same ip like other devices in your lan network)

Now it seems to work fine here!

I also use virtualbox and was having trouble getting SWC to run in it after a week or two of not playing.

I fixed it just by switching the networking from "NAT" to "Bridged Adapter". I left the RAM at 2 GB and don't think I've ever looked at the video settings.

I figured this might help others experiencing the same problem. Here's how my VM looks now that it's working again:

Edit: I should also mention that I had to uninstall the old version of the client - it wouldn't update itself correctly. I saw two things in the list of installed programs: one "swcpoker" and one with like "swc_msi" or something. The one with msi in its name uninstalled cleanly when I asked it to, but the swcpoker one would flash up a big window for a tiny fraction of a second but then the window would insta-vanish and the swcpoker item wouldn't go away. I ended up blowing away the swcpoker folder from inside Program Files using the file manager. After I did that I downloaded a new installer binary and installed it. Then when I tried to log in nothing would happen. No error message, but no tables showing up. That's when I changed the network mode from NAT to Bridged and it started working.

@gat, @smurf, The failing update is indicative of a problem with our auto-updater. The shortcuts to SwC Poker launch this updater, which checks for a new version then launches the client.

Are you able to start the client directly? Please try running swcclient.exe in the program folder.

--

@others, Those in VMs experiencing a message at launch that the client must be restarted are likely to find resolution by using bridged networking or more video memory. Please write us if that does not help, or if you are seeing a restart message and are not using a VM; we are still on the case.

Hi, I have tried all of these and still no luck. I am running windows 8 from parallels on osx host

Well, this worked.  And it was just that.  I didn't change the RAM or video settings.

I am also running Win 8 on Parallels on a Mac.  Doesn't work, although it used to work a few weeks ago.

Late Deep Turbo in about 2 hours... plenty of time to download, sign up and deposit if you need to.

Also, 10 minutes after the Late Deep starts there's a 15 chip NL Holdem Freeroll.

There should be 3 separate threads for announcements, technical difficulties, and people complaining about there being no HTML or DOS client.
So much to read through looking for a krillroll announcement, I guess I need to follow Micon's bitcointalk profile or twitter.

After this latest stability fix (more to do, but the big hurdle has been lept) ST7 has more time to focus on the cool stuff, like clients & krillrolls.

We are working up krillroll functionality.  Expect them back in a few weeks.
