Hello, PaulC here from swcpoker.  I was bored so I searched my screen name.  I found a few posts about the time I was disconnected during a krillroll a few months ago.  Here's what happened:

I disconnected and when I tried to log back on, a very untimely update came up.  With no other choice, I chose to continue with the update.  My pc crashed and it took a while to shut down and start back up.  Finally, I was able to finish the update and logged back on, only to discover that I had been eliminated one spot before the money.  I just thought I was blinded out, but the post I found here said that I still had a few blinds left and was on the button.  I'm just now finding this out and am wondering wtf happened.

After that, I contacted support and they compensated me with 10 chips and a nice apology, for which I'm grateful.  However, finding out that I was removed from the tourney when I still had chips and free hands coming up has left a sour taste.

IMO, as long as SWC can get their Android app out before Betcoin their traffic will come back. If not, I think the room may be in trouble. I know SWC is working hard to do so, and hope they can pull it off!

Why would the room be in trouble if Betcoin comes out with Droid App before SWC?  Both rooms have a lot to offer so I doubt either room will be in trouble just because one room came out with a Droid app before the other.

I think there is some evidence of habit and brand loyalty in software (in general) and in internet poker (in particular).  If a Bitcoin poker site releases an Android client first, and has a head start of ~ 6 months, the other site would be at a noticeable disadvantage.  Android is a big deal.  Android is the OS that I always have with me.  I would prefer to see SwCPoker take that advantage.

I doubt it.  They've been trying to get the basic functionality of their "upgraded" software going for almost 10 months now.  As I recall, poker mavens worked well on all platforms and gave them huge dominance.  Someone somewhere decided to get "better" software that only works on windoze and is apparrantely a bitch to maintain and can't seem to be interfaced with anyone running a proper OS.  I hope it turns around soon.

Also, I miss Micon.

Didn't the old software work really well? I'm pretty sure I had played using my phone back in the day as well...

That was my point entirely.  The old seals had specific clients for Android, GNU/Linux, OSX, Windows, and anything which could use a flash player.  The new SWC has working software for ... it seems like 0 platforms, given the complaints I keep seeing about the Windoze client they've built.  I just can't fathom why they don't go ahead and boot up poker mavens and get their player base back before we're all gone.

I personally hate the look of Poker Mavens (it just looks cheap) but using it as the backend and just having a client that looks better relaying the info is good to me.

Isn't that horse dead yet?Tongue

They specifically stated that there were security issues with the old software going forward.  And no we don't have to speculate on what that means.

Uh, well, what I recall is sealswithclubs suffering no break ins and having lots of customers on all platforms.  It seems like under the new, "more secure" scenario, there are about 20 of you guys who run windoze binaries and apparantely it's crashing all the time for going on 11 months.  It seems to me that if the "old horse" is dead, the newer one is already buried.  I miss the days when it worked.

+1 from me as well. I've yet to personally have an issue with it. I believe most of the issues people have are with Win 10, and that just seems to be screwing everyone (it's the most complained about thing in the gaming world, dev. world, etc. right now, so it's not just SWC, Bitcoin, or even poker).

That said, I liked being able to play on my phone. I'm mobile a lot.

It seems there is no update about Android app since my last visit, but i see complaints about disconnections.I don't want to repeat "10 months bug fixes" messages, i will just add some thoughts.
At first, the "great security" issue: a "very secure" client running on Windows only it's a bit contradictory.I think everyone knows what an antivirus is and on which family of OS-es only runs such software.
Secondly, i noted an ironic message saying that website creators are not quite programmers/coders.I will have to inform that person that Html/JavaScript/Php etc. are actually programming languages.Focused on web development, yes, but still using syntax which is similar to C, Pascal or any other language that "real coders" use. Also, web development is not anymore writing an  index.html page.Take a look at Node.js/Jquery/JavaScript and related and you will  see that "web developers" are creating powerful programs, often better than programs created using traditional programming languages. In some applications, the Nodejs environment beats the classic Apache/Php environment..it makes it KO actually.
As i said, i am not much into programming and such, but i know that it doesn't exist a language "good for all things" and if an application requires a different language, because it fits better, usually is wise to use that language, not forcing the thing you know better to do things that can't do(well).
In this specific case of Swc, i think buying and trying to readapt Grid poker was a mistake, knowing that was designed for Windows only and in a language that is less used for web applications (as a poker room software requires). Not saying that 'it can't run' just that 'won't perform well'.
That being said, i don't expect to see an up and running(well) Android app very soon. And i say it again: not having multi-platform clients is wrong.Be that html5, android, mac, whatever that can connect to internet must access with ease Swc poker, otherwise Swc poker will remain an obscure poker room in a dark corner of the internet.
