Any news regarding this project?

Yup.  ZRC merged with GoCoin.

I believe that you can use your ZRC "Points" here:  https://www.gopaywin.com/consumers/

ZRC (the altcoin) is barely alive at this point. More like it's on "life support".
I still hold pretty much all the coins I mined, on the off chance that one day I get to spend them, rather than speculate & trade, as is the norm with altcoins.
GoPayWin is the new face/brand to the project, though even a simple brand consolidation has not been done, as far as I can tell.

Not really the pace I had in mind when I got introduced to ZRC, but it is what it is, and at least it does look like merchant adoption remains the focus and some slow and steady progress might one day bear fruits... On the upside: there's no room to drop much further  Grin

"It's dead Jim".

"No block source available". Surprisingly enough, the wallet did update. So not totally dead just worthless.

I mined some of this cause it was easy. Sure glad I never bought any. Zifter coin went down the shitter coin. No surprise.

Story is you can exchange them for OK Coin shopping credits....or something. (Not OKCoin the Chinese Exchange.)

They wanted to build up merchant participation first.

Haven't seen any announcements lately.

What say you, @ZIFTERcoin?

I had stopped looking for any updates on this a while back, but coincidentally, checked reddit just today and found one post that might be of interest for some. I would not get my hopes up just yet, but maybe, just maybe, there's still some chance for this one to succeed.

GOOD FIND, THANK YOU!

Here's the Not-an-Announcement:

Quote
Hey Guys,
I was able to reach out to Michaela Wiggins Director of Project Management to get an update on Ziftr. See below.
Hi Brandon,
Thanks for reaching out, I’m responding on behalf of Bob and the ZiftrCoin team.
Yes, we are continuing development on the ZiftrCoin/GoPayWin platform. In 2016 we spent over $1 million in development costs. We recently reacquired all of our technology (the payment platform) from GoCoin and dissolved the merger.
Our team is in the process of merging the code base into a shopping platform that will use the ZiftrCoins as a point reward system for mainstream merchants. It is still our policy to not hype the coin or pre announce events, which is why you haven't heard an update from ZiftrCoin in awhile.
We took a look at ZCoin and the symbol shows as XCZ?
In summary, we are still working on the project and have high hopes in our long term vision of bringing blockchain technology (through ZiftrCoins) to the general public!
Best,
Michaela Wiggins Director of Project Management michaela@ziftr.com

Hey folks,

I had a good call yesterday discussing the future of GoPoints.

In summary, not much will change from when you originally purchased ziftrCOIN.

In the merchant dashboard on GoPayWin, the merchants will have the option to select the % amount that they will accept of an order's price redeemable in GoPoints.

The minimum value for the GoPoints they accept will be $1 per however, the merchant can set it higher.

That % of the order acts exactly like a coupon, essentially giving a 5% or higher discount.

The merchants will be competing with each other to drive consumers to spend their money at their stores with competitive discounts using GoPoints exactly like a site-wide coupon!

In addition, we will be loading each GoPayWin consumer wallet with 100 free GoPoints.

Each merchant wallet will be receiving 10,000 GoPoints (or more) to distribute to their customers.

For the time being, GoPoints will be exclusively offered in a "closed loop". That is, those GoPoints issued to merchants in the GoPayWin network and won by consumers will be the only points available in the GoPayWin wallet. We anticipate enabling the deposit feature, once our merchants are comfortable with the process and see the benefits of attracting customers that acquired GoPoints outside of the network.

This is a temporary measure that will be lifted as the network grows and starts transacting.

We will begin rebranding ZiftrCOIN to GoPoints sometime next week and begin requesting additional exchanges accept the newly branded coin.

Thanks,

-J

Any news on getting this added to Exchanges? I found "Zrcoin" [ZRC] on hitbtc.com, but I don't think it's the same as this. That's the only Exchange I could find with any relation to ZiftrCOIN, ZRC, or GoPoints.

For anyone looking for (or interested in) the original Presale ANN Thread for ZiftrCOIN, I believe it's here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=894605.0
