BTW, I tried to log in from my cell yesterday.  It just jumped to portal site.  There was no way to go to game site.  Clicked 3 bars on left top, clicked character icon, clicked forum to jump to the game...none of them worked.

Yeah, I've mentioned this to Ana too but it doesn't hurt to remind him. You can manually change the end of the URL to /login.php to get to the login screen.

Looks like something crashed on the server and I can't access the backend, I contacted the host so hopefully they have it back up before too long.

They provided me with another account to upload my stuff so they can migrate it but all the data from the last 24 days is gone.

I'll do my best to get it going again, just bear with me.

I would have thought they would provide backups as part of their hosting service (I mean, better than 1/month or whatever). Hopefully you are able to find a lot of the work you've done one way or another so that getting back to where you were yesterday takes less effort than you think.

Byet.host / Ifastnet.com / hostgator has a pretty bad reputation.

The best would be to mirgrate over to a new host-platform.

They provide backups yes, but just like the last time this happened they apparently don't have one.

Also just like last time, they blamed it on me saying I deleted the server or that I was hacked but in order to hack into the server itself they would need the unique password for it that has only ever been used on this computer.

It appears your VPS server may have been hacked or you have removed all data recursively unknowing, I am unable to see any data on the server. I have also check and there are unfortunately no backups available here.

I can reinstall your VPS for you and provide you login (a new empty secured VPS) or you can use this 1 month free cPanel account to more easily reinstall your websites then reply here to ask us to migrate them to your VPS.

When I manage to get DKV back up I'll be freezing it and will allow players to make withdrawal requests for the coins they have in game. Gameplay will be disabled until I can get everything sorted out.

FWIW, some of us may have cached pages with information if it would be any help. I left my system on overnight so I have final coin balances, all my stats, potions etc.  But if it's more equitable to just roll everyone back in certain respects I understand that too.

It sounds like this is pretty tough to recover from. If you need to just walk away from it for a spell that's understandable. Even if you just do a flat rollback to March 2, it's not the worst thing that could happen and I think most of your regular players would shrug it off after the initial disappointment. And the enhancements you've done since then will be easier to recreate the 2nd time around since you have a good idea what you did.

I'd miss Valeria if it's gone for good, but best wishes either way.

The game code can be rebuilt sure and should be playable from my backups, my concern is coin balances and deposits since the 2nd. One giant clusterfuck for me.

On the bright side, this might be a good opportunity to remove the Truce item from the game. From what I've observed (loosely speaking), only one person in the entire game uses it regularly, and that person is ironically in the running for DKV2's public enemy number one.

Anyway, hopefully, we can be back and running soon. I won't be of any help as far as browser cache is concerned, as I regularly clear my cookies on the browser where I play the game.
