I expect these rigs to be no less than $500.00 USD each [including shipping].  That would be $50,000 minimum ...

You didn't hear from me, but try tripling the price - $1500 USD...

lol, if that is the case, i think they will not find anyone who is dumb enough to buy that miner.

They argue:

"Based on recent Bitcoin and Litecoin price, a dual-mode SF100’s revenue equals to a 2.8-3.2T pure Bitcoin miner, which makes it 0.3-0.34W/GHS power efficiency."

Bitmain sells S5 batch 5 for about $0.31 USD per GH/s. Why should SFARDS price a more efficient product lower?
So I bet the price will be between $870 USD and $990 USD (exluding shipping).

good guess I don't see much cheaper.  basically if the go as low as 600-700 I think bitmaintech would start a price war with them.

Well the S5 has been out for a long time and people are buying them used for much cheaper than new, I think they would either have to push their new product to price war with Sfards.

or sfards sells at 1500 and like avalon does not attempt to go to war with bitmaintech. (most likely case)

they self mine and sell the gear at a high price. thus they escape the attack from bitmaintech.

Sense they are all in China it may never happen it's like one big family there or seems that way .

They still have a code there . but time will tell Smiley .

Maybe the only way we will ever see any kind of price war's is if a A company in the US started up making there own chips  etc . then we Might , because that's how we are.

In china i honestly believe it is more a code thing then anything bit main was the first one  etc  ...

Since its a well established fact that home miners make a very minute market for most equipment manufacturers, the case being made for sfards pricing the SF100 for the home miner in relation bitmaintech's pricing is a non starter. That not only because sfards are a different kind of beast to bitmain (what with the dev kits, offering the chips etc), but more pertinent that if the SF100 is solid enough, even bitmain's much vaunted upcoming S7 won't affect the SF100's uptake, and that because it would require bitmain to undercut themselves on the S5 to the point of giving them away, even EOL'ing it.

I think this will be priced between $650 - $800

Won't it depend what the S7 does and price . id like to see this at 450 to 600 to me even that price ( $650 - $800) is to high sense the Avalon4.1 still sells https://ehash.com/product/avalon4-module-1t/ for 1.95 btc + shipping.

i only want one or two of these . mostly for the Script part .

The S5 is kind of at EOL any way this is the last S5 Batch being sold now unless they decide to make a s5 + there wont be anymore S5 made after this batch sells out .and to move stack once the S5 + if there is one or S6 or S7 depends if they still like home miners which i hope they do the now S5 left in stock will be priced to move.

at this point we wait and see time will tell .

There is another option that occurs to me. Sfards could partner with Bitmaintech for a new gen Antminer powered by the sfards chips... Their announcement was vague enough that this could already be the case. Two chinese companies will already understand the dynamics of price wars AND collaboration. Both have been quite successful in their niches (yes, I realise that Sfards is technically a new company, but it's built on Gridseed's proven record).

I very much hope and believe it will be the bottom end of my range (creeping to the middle with shipping).
Yep the S5 is literally EOL, but that they are still manufacturing them (and have a stack in their datacenters) gives it ample time to exist. I can not see the S7 being the same form-factor as the S5 with the S5 still on sale, and if the SF100 forces onto market (even heralds) the S7, then bitmain may have a dilema on their hands.
Ofcourse, bear in mind that home mining is a very small market for them, but that is where they'd be looking to offload their S5's to else literally give them away to a bulk buyer (aka wage a price war with sfards).

reminds me  of my days in the navy hurry up and wait.

well I cant see under 800 but WTF do I know.

I know this much the price war between sp-tech and bitmaintech drove the price of btc down and it has yet to recover.

So I would be stunned to see this gear offered at a cheap price.

After reading comments and thinking further, it makes more sense for them to price the rig from $750 to $850 in the beginning.  Then, if they get in a price war, they have given themselves room to come down on price in a price war at $600 to $700.  Just my thoughts.

The SF100 does not have PSU.  This is added expense on the buyer for PSU's and PCI-e cords.  Surly, they are taking this into account when coming to a price.

Yes, it's more efficient than the S4+ and S5.  They can take this into account when pricing as well.  The fact that less money is spent on power compared to those rigs.  That could make them go to the $800 to $900 range at first release.  It's still hard to say.

There will be a rise in difficulty soon as well.  Starting out with the price at $800 to $900 gives them room to lower the price as the difficulty increases and the price of BTC remains the same.

I have emailed Sfards about buying units and was told that they are doing limited batches and that a minimum order size is 100 units. I asked about the price but have not gotten a response yet, but I also asked if they offer any type of volume discount if 200 units are ordered.

In any case for those smaller miners, I would be more then willing to setup a groupbuy so anyone who wants less then 100 units can buy them.

That's not going to happen. Each mining company only has value if their chips are good. Investing in another's chips means you're not investing in your own, which means you will eventually fail. Its all about chips, chips, chips. You've also got the case where when you have the best chips, you sure as hell aren't going to share them.

I would say, I have to agree with you, dogie.  It is all about the chips!!!

Could SFards, sell their technology?  Certainly.  BUT... It would come at a heavy price!

If anyone in the US manages to get a group buy together, I might be interested in 1 of them.  Already have an Antminer S5 chewing away 24/7.  Depending on the Price Tag of course.

Why litecoin diff So high every 3 days New scrypt machine?
It's not even at the level it was back in January.  There's probably a bunch of cards pointing at other altcoins now that took a chunk out of the hash rate for Litecoin.

But yes, there's shiny new hardware from SFARDS - rejoice, for you may be able to purchase one out of a group buy coming to you this summer.  Or despair, if your current mining rig is barely worth the bother now Smiley

Limited batches with 100 minimum.... That almost makes sense....Instead of getting say 1000 into 1000 peoples hands to eval and get feedback on they would rather sell 100 each to 10 people and only have 10 people give feedback... Obviously they are confident that it works like a charm and there will not be any bugs with the firmware -- Huh
