Why litecoin diff
So high every 3 days
New scrypt machine?Huh?

imho all the guys that were mining dodgecoin and other scrypt have moved to Litecoin including the major multipools due to the 'bet'
that they think that the halving in less then .what is it 60 days....will make that a better bet

thus again imho it is all of them coming from the other ALTS and flocking to Litecoin for now

Also again imho ..... folk may be turning on old scrypt equipment and running it on an electric loss vs coin production on the 'hope'
that LTC will pop back up to 5 bucks etc

anyway my guess

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

"Based on recent Bitcoin and Litecoin price, a dual-mode SF100’s revenue equals to a 2.8-3.2T pure Bitcoin miner, which makes it 0.3-0.34W/GHS power efficiency."
Bitmain sells S5 batch 5 for about $0.31 USD per GH/s. Why should SFARDS price a more efficient product lower?
So I bet the price will be between $870 USD and $990 USD (exluding shipping).
Well, I'm out at that price. I could care less about the scrypt half of the chip  Undecided

yeah it is NO go at that price (imho likely on the mark)

well unless I want to get a 'used' one maybe sometime in say nov/dec as a space heater ....might be justifiable for fun

(you laugh my Titan last winter up till jan 1st knocked off 35 bucks a month to almost the cent over the previous years gas heating bill budget)

so it all comes down to with me

1) when and what price to get a used one at the end of the year

2) how good a space heater is it for heating my basement shop so I can play in the basement all nice and toasty mining Smiley

(heh ..always an angle to justify silly asic toys)

group buy ...you say? hmmmm LINKS
Haha - well there's bound to be one, at least.  I'm certainly not hosting one - though I'm more than capable of doing so, I simply don't have the trust in that field to suggest myself for the number of units and likely amounts of trade involved.  Besides, shipping from around here (DE / NL and the occasional BE depending on where I'm at) is ludicrously expensive.  Best left to OgNasty cq Malatesta or other reputable contenders.

I might be getting one, but truth be told I'm more interested in J4bberwock and potential others' designs.

Any updates of the Price of the SFARDS 100 ?
Only rumors, several of which are most likely not even rumors but an attempt to force SFARDS hand and elicit a response.

But hey, somebody on aliexpress is trying to sell dev kits, at least Wink

It's so strange that SFARDS don't want for review of some test unit to appear here... It should rise the sales and it will be very good for SFARDS positive image...  Undecided

yep I'm out..

makes no sense..you can get used spondoolies sp20's on ebay at 1.7TH for less then 500 bucks
you can get a 50mh scrypt miner for probably 200 bucks...sure the electric cost is high but they are in hand
in 2 days and with the halving coming up for scrypt ...

well none of this makes any sense to run the above USED
equipment at these prices and point in time difficulty and other wise
...can't see the logic that they think a new combo of such above would work any
better at that 1129 usd price point! it is a wash..neither would work in any sane miner matter imho

sheesh.....

they are not even trying ..its gimmick to get a 'product' out there  for their real efforts on future bulk chip sales and the use mostly I'd bet on their own data farms
type equipment arrangements...

that price makes no frigging sense at all otherwise for this hardware either for home use or data hall use nor with my above used equivalent ebay examples nor
their new product...so anyway imho thats what I see from all this

anyway my current take on this if the offer above is legit

And you need to wait 6 weeks but let's wait a bit more, maybe they will change their price or someone else will come with something better if they buy more then 100.

seems a bit risky to buy this machine just before the reward of litecoin halves..  if the price does indeed double again we could have tons of epic dumps.. Remember there are many holding still with $4 - 45$ ltc.. Ive second thoughts about this now as the market is going to get very volatile over the next few months.. I think its best to sit back and see what happens. Ill continue to mine with what ive got.. at 7.5 cents per kw im still running the gridminer a1's...  Ill keep an eye on this to see how it progresses. If a group buy ever does come about in the US please let me know.. Ill see how conditions are then.Smiley

Why would Sfards sell one of these machines for less than it could make mining ?

A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.

If you read the post they say they did burn in. >>>> say it is true.

They are selling sets of 100 at a time >>>>>>>>>> say it is true.

So if they made 1000 or less and mined them for 2 weeks which would mean a big place to mine them.

a 1 mega watt farm  1000 x 1000 = 1 mega watt.

We all know coins go up and down in price.   So  the risk of running a 1000 unit farm is high since based on diff of btc and ltc it does not look like they have been doing it for months.

My guess is they made about 500-1000 pieces and they can run 100 or 200 at a time in house.

So if they sell off a few sets of 100 they are close to break even.

I will be nice and say it does as advertised.

So lets say the built the first batch of 1000 for 1 million. which due to having the  chips made is a big underestimate.
They may have enough chips left to build 1000 more or sell some chips.
They are looking to get back the 1 or 2 million (low estimate) they laid out to build this .

Once they sell 4 or 5 sets of 100 they will be at less risk.

I want one but at 1179 I can buy a script miner used that does 60 MH and a KNC miner off Ebay Used or could the other day that according to the Seller worked at 3 th for around 500, total cost for both a little less then this one, uses more power but I'll make more with faster speeds, won't feel Ive been cheated .

They will sell it just not to your every day player.

I'll wait for for bitmain there prices are more reason able .

Agreed, that is a bit egregious of a price, and we don't even know if that is with shipping or not (my guess is probably not).  Then everything else you need to run the miner.

I have also not gotten an email response in two days about running a group buy.  I guess for this first batch they are more concerned with people who will buy and use all 100 units instead of having to gather the money from others.  My guess is that they have quite a bit of interest from some big time miners who can buy 100+ units at a time and don't need to bother with the little guy.

I'd probably buy a few of these if SFARDS can get the pricing down to $800, and offer individual unit purchases vs. 100 unit MOQ.

I would also like to see some test units sent to trusted veterans on Bitcointalk, so we know what we're dealing with.  Otherwise I'll hold out until Bitmain launches the S7.

At that price point so am I .... still hopeful it is a number plucked out of thin air though ...

If the reported bulk buy price of $1129 is correct (I assume it is FOB), then there is not a chance in hell getting single units at $800, at least not in the next 6-10 weeks (if ever). Saying that, I'm still trying to get that price into my head ...
