I talked on QQ. During this salon they will announce gen3. (It is under a successful trial run already) . They will sell this directly through their own website as wel- their new website is live already.

Can you clarify what is meant here. "During this salon they will announce gen3". Gen3 was announced long ago. "They will sell this directly through their own website as wel- their new website is live already." Who's website?

"salon" means technology seminar.
I guess AM is making effort on searching a better(more effiecent) miner solution with BE200

The term "salon" was used before, when rockxie gave the AM presentation here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.msg2689383#msg2689383 (out of date info)

If friedcat is truly attending this seminar to speak, it really makes one wonder what topic(s) he will discuss/announce after these long months.

So to confirm friedcat does not have a website still recall that's correct if they do then  Huh how was that missed so long
And if friedcat does go to a seminar that would be neat.

direct source :http://weibo.com/u/5195261989?from=myfollow_all#1406260962126

Google translated:

Quote
Under the force of the times [million] T operator bitcoin line salon notice: The event is organized by the industry's leading mining machine development company ASICMINER, scheduled for: August 2, 2014 13:00-18:00, place in Shenzhen City South, Nanshan District No. 7, seven high-tech digital technology park, 5th Floor, A3 starting coffee; AM companies invited to participate in the discussion of many of the industry elite, under Bitcoin T operator force millions of times, there will be what Bitcoin industry opportunities and challenge.

Can we get a better English translation?

What exactly is a "salon"? FC is not going to become a hair stylist is he?

The translation does not say much. Salon is a meeting/conference not a hair salon. the point is marking occasion of 100,000 T hashrate expansion and expectancy of exa ages they wish to talk about opportunities and challenges bla bla, they give the date and the directions, lineup, -- Friedcat plus some other industry bigwigs speaking there, like from bitcoinchina

anyway the important part for shareholders.

I During this salon they will announce gen3.  (It is under a successful trial run already) They will sell this directly through their own website as wel- their new website is live already.
You were wrong.  FC will annouce new miner device using Gen3 chip(BE200) not Gen3 chip on the coming seminar  .
Following is the source http://www.btc798.com/article-5039-1.html
This is the first time FC appears in public, He will also introduce his team.
hah, Just waiting the "salon"

Gen3 is dead. We need a gen5 chip from AM. Other chips have twice the efficiency and AM is having trouble getting the price at a competitive price point. At .5BTC/TH we could move some product, otherwise we need ot look at the pipeline.

Which chip? Bitmain's 28nm chip reach 0.58 W/G while S3 's efficiency is just 0.77 W/G.

What exactly are the rumors?

Are you referring to the conference AM is holding to discuss the age of the exahash? (6-9 months from now)

I'd say it's most likely legit considering it was forwarded by zhaodong.

Are you joking?

How do you figure gen3 is dead? BTCgarden can't even keep up with demand and hashratio is adding more PH every week.

I'd love to know which chips are capable of 0.3w/gh at the wall since AM immersion cooled chips can do 0.6w/gh at the wall.

I also doubt chips are still being sold for more than $0.3/gh. If spongebobtech is correct then they are being sold for $0.2/gh.

Is there any chip manufacturer that is selling for less than $0.3/gh? or $0.85/gh for completed miners?

I was under the impression that 'cost' was not known.  I do not believe your question can be answered at this time.

Just announced:

https://twitter.com/RockMinerInc/status/486895634503311362

Anyone have the specifications?

That is just 2 R3s wrapped in metal.
Multiply the R3 specs by 2 to get the specs.

I sent an e-mail to Rockminer about the specs on the R4 because while the specs were incomplete (or non-existent), they were reported as having 96 BE200 chips in them.  The reply stated that someone else would answer that question and after a couple more days with no reply, I went back to the site and saw it had been corrected to 48 BE200 chips.  So in reality, it is NOT 2 R3s wrapped in metal.  It is one R3 wrapped in metal.

Ah, I guess you are right. I had the figure of $0.19-0.22/gh in my head, which I thought came directly from FC, but going back through his post history it would appear that he only gave the selling price range (unless it was edited). The 0.19-0.22 figure was likely an educated guess (from more knowledgeable people)  based upon typical manufacturing costs and projected profit margins, given AM's target selling price (originally stated to be $0.50-0.99/gh from FC)

Regardless, 1 RMB is $0.16 (according to google). Given everything we know, it would seem likely that is close to cost, would it not? Is it possible that these chips could be manufactured for sub $0.10/gh?

well, it depends on the quantity i'd guess and the relationships with the foundries. 60ph seems quite reasonably big to have one of the best production costs of the market tho. anyway, no one knows, thats the part of FC's cooking recipient  with no incentive to reveal all of it.
