OK, my bad, so a little more expensive, but assembled and cheaper to run... I know which I bought.
Indeed 15% would be great IF we can get there, but if we go for 15%, thats our div money reinvested to get us there.
If we get saved I think its from 28nm, not our current chips.
Who cares about assembled and ready to run? It takes maybe 30 minutes per full unit, maybe an hour for the first one. I don't know about you, but my time isn't worth $300-400/hour. It's natural for you to defend your decision to buy Ants, they are good units at a fair price. They simply aren't the least expensive anymore. FC knows what it takes to run a large mine and is intimately familiar with network growth. I don't believe that he would have stated 15-20% if he didn't think it was obtainable. I'm betting on it.

What am I missing, other than optimism?
There actually aren't cheaper ready assembled units for sale and FC has stated a 15-20% total network self mine goal. The market is incredibly thin so if you don't already have shares, your only hope is to knock a few straggling weak hands loose. Good luck! edit... link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735728.msg8311953#msg8311953FC had that goal about 12 months ago. What happened in the last 12 months. The shit hit the fan unfortunately and we got paid virtually nothing. Best laid plans of mice and men and all that .....

Also, it only appears he has gone back to the self-mining plan because the OEM deals have failed to bring in the buyers. Doesn't sound great to me, more like "last resort".

Wow, I gotta say the price on Havelock really is recovering hard. But I believe it will go back at some point, if only for a bit. But until we actually see dividends, a lot of people will remain only half-in, I guess
At the Salon, didn't FC said he has started mining and will be paying divs regularly? Yup, mining since the middle of July (not full power) and hopes to start paying divs in Aug. Not likely FC would lie about something like that. Expect divs in August then. He only said he hoped he could start paying divs in August. based on that, I certainly wouldn't expect divs in August, an outside hope at best. The days of FC under-promising and over-delivering are well gone.

Yeah, it sounds like "Fuck it! I might as well hash the shit out of those chips myself" :-) But my reaction to that is "Yeah, let's do this!"

I think he was saying that hew owned said domain and is willing to sell it to ASICMiner. That's what's called domain-squatting FC won't be amused ^^

To suggest that FC is in constant "Fail mode" and that everything that he does is some sort of "Last Resort" seems like a myoptic conclusion.
He sells the chips bulk until they are more profitable to sell in assembled miners. He sells assembled miners until they are more profitable to just mine with. He stops mining with them when he has a new generation of chips to sell in bulk. Rinse, repeat. It's not rocket science. You move to the next phase where your maximum profit exists, and only when it exists.

+1. This was done in plain sight. FC is moving like a nimble cat.

looks like bitmain is outta business.. S3 is a great success product and almost sold out. The sale of S3+ is 0.58 BTC each including the international shipping, which starts on September 20th, 2014 or earlier. Sales open in the Beijing Time tonight 22:00 (UCT+8:00 Time Zone). We strongly believe it is best choice of mining bitcoin for both the mining farm and the home miners. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=330665.msg8329235#msg8329235eheheh preorders and S1 kit? ^^ Bitmain surely seems desperate to squeeze each tear of profit..

The second I saw spondo was taking pre-orders I knew it was good to ignore them. And then there is this GAW place spending millions on a domain -_-
FC always had it right to focus on the core of the business.
