The docket container is still work in progress. You could set up a node through an AMI in the meantime. Both MongoDB and Scala are seeing heavy use in recent years. Look them up. I don't know what AMI stands for.

I don't know what AMI stands for. It's an Amazon Machine Image. It's a way to set up a Synereo node without having to download and install/build anything on your computer. http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/AMIs.htmlIf you have an Amazon account, these are the details for setting up a Synereo node: Region: USWest (Oregon) region of AWS. Image name: SynereoDemoNode. Image ID: ami-6fae845f A couple of our community members have already set these up and are playing with the code. Join our slack channel (slack.synereo.com) or the weekly hangouts if you want help or to talk to us about it.

I'm poor so I can't afford Amazon. I was using a digitalocean plan with 512MB Memory, 1 Core Processor, 20GB SSD Disk, 1TB Transfer. It ended up running out of memory.
I will keep upgrading to see how much memory is required to run synereo.

We'll have a docker container allowing easy local installation soon.

Is there a block explorer? Is it safe to move my AMPs into a paper wallet?
What about this?

What about this? There is a block explorer at https://omnichest.info. And it should be ok to save your AMPs to a paper wallet, they use a bitcoin address. Although you can only send and receive them via Omniwallet or an exchange.

is the Dockerfile + needed scripts/files ready yet ? i want to try it
is it helping the network when running synereo node ?
|
not hashing, folding and curing (check FLDC merged-folding! reuse good GPUs)

just something i though about
don't know if you know about Synereo AMP token (suppose to be distributed social network) it is a Token using mastercoin
since AMP is using Bitcoin blockchain, and also FLDC is using Bitcoin's blockchain (XCP). maybe you can contact them to distribute some AMPs to folders
can be a nice POW phase for the AMP token and maybe will promote folding@home
actually anything using bitcoin bockchain can be distributed used FLDC merge foldings. including color coins and mastercoin assets ? as long as the folder have access to his private key (not using an exchange wallet)

Yes! The more nodes we have, the faster and more reliable the network becomes.

Hey Elokane, do you have the record? You were talking about subjects I'm interested in. Unfortunately I missed the hangout and I would like to watch it. Thanks.

We've run into some difficulties WRT the Docker container which has thrown a wrench into the plans. The work with Ethereum (see latest hangout for details) has also diverted some of our attention. I'll post about a timeline as soon as we're back on track.

From what I can tell, it looks like Ethereum is going to be outdated once Synereo is out. Scala looks impressive. Why are you working with Ethereum so closely. Ethereum isn't very impressive.

They need more funding. They talked about it in the last hang out.

They need more funding. They talked about it in the last hang out. We still have enough to release our first app along with the means to easily host a node! We'll definitely require more funds afterwards, though.
