101  Other / Politics & Society / Re: High inflation is causing GLOBAL protests on: August 21, 2022, 11:59:42 PM
How long before the US joins in?

The great reset is upon us.

Anyways, these protests are frivolous. They will only backfire and will do nothing helpful. The government's hands are tied and everyone is suffering the same fate(thanks to corona). Instead of holding a banner, how about applying some brain and create your local businesses efficient by cutting unnecessary cost thus increasing profit margin and subsequently your wages too.

Force your management(through unions maybe) to adapt efficient methods and use it as a basis for wage increase. Protests will help no one.
We have to help each other in this tough time else no one will get through.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 21, 2022, 11:50:27 PM
What happened to tsitsipas in today final he was doing good on the first set against coric and he was leading 4 2 after managing to break coric serve and then his performance started going down he lost his serve and lost 7 0 in the tie breaks not to mention the second set that was a disaster, either way coric did well today he seem in a great shape a totally deserved win.
Tsitsipas gave hard fight, and he looks so tired. It was same as the set against Medvedev, but things didn't worked out this time. If I'm not wrong, Coric have pre-planned the match after the defeat of Medvedev. In the past we used to see only certain players in the finals. Now those scenario have changed. In the doubles semifinal Tsitsipas and Rune have given a walkover which according to me seemsto be out of injury or being tired don't let him perform.

Tsitsipas wasn't into it at all. A 2-0 win by Coric is shocking. Odds must be like 8x?

Anyways, he deserve to lose Smiley Check this out : https://www.reddit.com/r/tennis/comments/wubdbt/interestingly_tsitsipas_is_on_toilet_break/

He was getting coached again by his daddy during the break(which is not legal if the player is off court).

Coric's recent climb is magnificent, from #159 to #29 is amazing. Proud of him Cheesy
103  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Hong Kong consider Bitcoin? on: August 21, 2022, 09:53:35 PM
CCP butchered Hong Kong's economy. HK used to have the most open and free market before CCP couldn't keep their nose away.

They don't need bitcoin, they need god. HK is done. Their leader is on China's payroll(Pikachu aka John Lee)  Smiley Forget about it. CCP holds all the cards now.

HK did see a rise of reforms, when they were protesting but then covid came(how convenient) and CCP took advantage of the situation.

I won't be surprised if this recent development in Hong Kong is the reason for Taiwan taking such pro-independence stance now.

Astralis lost to a rank 200 team and it now says they are eliminated from the major, at least in this set of matches.

Astralis is ass in online matches. This time it was Farlig's fault. He was missing easy shots.
They need a better awper(Device Wink )

They still have got one more chance to qualify.

Faze easily beat EG but still maybe the +round difference bet would have been nicer odds.  I went with the simple win
I went with Faze -4.5 handicap in a parlay. Odds on straight ML weren't that good.

And we finally have the winner of the Group C as well!

I must admit that I'm surprised with the result. Because FaZe have been a really unstoppable team for a long time. Even NaVi have struggled against them in many final matches in big tournaments. They performed nicely until the final match of the group actually and defeated Heroic once also. But Heroic were so ambitious that they made it to the finale and this time beat FaZe. This is a surprising result after the results of the first two groups.

Now FaZe will need to beat two opponents consecutively to be able to move on in BLAST Premier. NaVi have become more successful than FaZe so far despite not having s1mple in the matches.

I wasn't expecting Padian and his troop to outmatch everyone. W against Big was expected, but a win against Faze was totally unexpected.  No longer onliners ig lol
105  Economy / Services / Re: [PAID TESTERS NEEDED] Zenland Blockchain Escrow Platform | Up to $30 (open) on: August 21, 2022, 09:12:27 PM
Update: Payment received

My review for the Zenland platform:

The main website has a nice design, no complaints here except for a few suggestions:

Browsing the "How it works" sections isn't very intuitive. Some kind of indication (like an arrow) to the scroll will be helpful to the users.

When I submitted my Email address in the footer section, I wasn't greeted with any acknowledgment from the server. The page just reloads, nothing more.

Moving onto the app.

Maybe the info dialog box of "Due date" can include the fact that a contract can't be disputed until the Due Date is expired.

I encountered a bug(if it can be called one) during the deployment of contract. After creating the contract on Metamask the button changes to "Confirming" text(as it should). If you reload the page during this phase, then it will change back to active "Deploy" button
Maybe it should remain in the "Confirming" phase even after the reload. Some users may make the mistake of deploying it again.

The app could have an option of Browser notification(to notify about events/chat when users aren't on the website itself) and maybe an alert sound too(a small beep or dong like in localbitcoins).

The contract/chat head navigation buttons are too small.

The header of contract table doesn't seem responsive (https://i.imgur.com/GiViTBX.png)

Maybe it should be replaced by a "Sort by" dialog box on small screen instead of keeping the same design.

Other than this, it seems like a solid and professional platform. I will be wary of the fees tho. I am guessing it's like 1.5%. This platform could become a contender to localbitcoins too(for p2p trades, if you choose to expand in that direction), which has a fees of 1%

9/10 - It delivers
106  Local / India / Re: Cybercell Hold Bank Account for Certain Amount Solution? on: August 20, 2022, 09:16:39 PM

I forgot my pass of idlipuri account.

I have checked all transactions few traders done third party payments like on child name and company name.
If someone makes a payment with different name(whether child or relative) ask for their ID. Try not to accept payments from accounts with company name.

same thing happened to me. you have to call the particular cyber cell and speak to the investigating officer handling your case in order to remove the freeze

Can you PM me how to overcome this.

Have you visited your Bank's branch?
They should have all the information regarding who or which jurisdiction requested the hold on your account. Talk to branch manager if clerks are of no help.

Act desperate & clueless when you are at the brank. You have to be stubborn to get things done in SBI branches.
Make the branch manager help you with the details and ask him the procedure to get the hold removed. Do as he(the manager) directs you. Try to get as much information as you can from him.
107  Local / India / Re: TDS on Cryptocurrencies [Explained] on: August 20, 2022, 09:01:26 PM

Q1. What if I buy/sell coins from/to foreign person?
A1. TDS provisions are only applicable if the seller is a resident of India. If you buy coins from a foreign person (including foreign exchanges), you aren’t required to deduct TDS.  Conversely, if you are a seller, the foreign person is required to deposit TDS but since it is not practically possible, NO TDS applicable when you buy or sell coins from or to a foreign person.

So If I sell my cryptos to someone in US, and ask them to wire me the money.
Then I will be paying Zero TDS + Zero GST

Damn, I guess I will find a buyer in US since the government seems to have no problem with it  Smiley

TDS on coin conversion is pretty stupid, and it will kill all Indian exchanges. I would rather exchange it at foreign exchange instead of paying 1% on every conversion to some Indian cex.

In a way, they didn't directly ban cryptos in India but they killed it with a knife to the back.

108  Local / India / Re: What would be the best way to buy a hardware wallet in India ? on: August 20, 2022, 05:52:07 PM
Here you go buddy, this might help you a bit. I've been using Nano X for quite some time and virtually zero problems so far.

This is their twitter handle https://twitter.com/EtherbitHQ  shoot them a text if you got any confusion or concern or try their website directly.

etherbit is legit vendor in India. In past (2019) i have ordered few Nano X from etherbit for myself, father-in-law and couple of friends, everything went okay and delivery was also very fast (less than 24 hours) but ofc it would depend on the location too.

Check etherbit site during black friday sale (25th Nov-2 Dec), you might end up saving 2-3k rs.

Thanks for the link. Seems like etherbit is a good option if we want to buy from India based seller.
I like the fact that it is delivering the product in less than a week. So the chances of tampering are way to less when compare to delivery from official website.
Although it has a good reputation and reviews do you think it is a good idea to buy from resellers and not from official website ?

You are worrying too much. There will be no tempering. Hardware wallets are not that easy to be tempered with(when it comes to the internal hardware).  Albeit, if you purchase from a source which isn't official then they may include a compromised key. Many have fallen to this scam.
If you buy Ledger, then you can even authenticate it with their tools
https://www.ledger.com/how-to-protect-hardware-wallets-against-tampering

As for custom duty, yes it can be 100%
10% constitutes basic custom duty alone.
You will be paying an addition 18% on (Cost +basic custom duty on that cost)

And the the cost includes shipping price too Smiley
It will almost end up 80~100%

Anyhow, you will be storing substantial amount of cryptos so it will be a onetime cost. Don't let the custom duty be a factor here.
Just a heads up. As I have wasted my time in the past on trying to remove/reduce the duty by talking to India post(even went to the Post office and wasted more money on cab fare lol), UPS, custom office, etc but I always ended up paying the initial amount lol, you don't have to waste your time and it won't come as a shock when they come asking

Prefer official website.

What an effort by Astralis today!

After losing against NIP, I thought that this wasn't their tournament. But they made an insane comeback after that. They beat OG and NIP consecutively and managed to destroy Vitality in the finale as well.

Actually Vitality had a good advantage in the finale but Astralis never gave up and won by OT. It made me start thinking whether Astralis were bringing back their good old days. I can't wait to watch them in the main tournament later.

Yea, that was completely unexpected from Astralis.
I was expecting them to lose Mirage from everyone but they won twice against some good teams. It shows that they are definitely grinding and working for their paycheck!

Very disappointing performance from OG. Degster did alright. Seems like Nexa is the problem(just like he was in G2  Smiley ) .

Exciting matches today. We will get to see JKS in his new home.

Before anyone places their buck on navi, keep in mind that s1mple isn't playing.
110  Local / India / Re: What would be the best way to buy a hardware wallet in India ? on: August 19, 2022, 10:05:36 PM

The second question is if we buy directly from the official website would there be a risk in delivery ?
May be the customs can keep it under their radar or tamper it or raise legal issues against us?

No, they won't tamper with your device.  Just make sure to reset the device and use your "own" keys.

But be ready to pay 100% of the cost of product as custom duty(there's custom on shipping charges too in this stupid country Smiley ) And you will have to pay else forget your device.

Buy straight from the original website, if they can ship to India

>localbitcoins
Someone definitely concluded a scam and made you a part of it.

The cybercell is doing an investigation into that scam, and you probably received victim's fiat while the real scammer got your "bitcoins" in exchange. You should send an E-mail to the cybercell as a record, explain how you are oblivious about the reason of this freeze and would like to know more.
Or make a call, like synthia331 said.

They will be interested in knowing about a certain transaction.

Provide them will all the details(like who initiated the trade on localbitcoins, time, if you have their phone number etc).

Were you accepting third party payments?
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In a world of financial oppression Bitcoin is the the only escape route on: August 15, 2022, 09:37:50 PM
This is ridiculous. They just need an excuse to make you pay more taxes. 10,000 isn't a big amount, even for a small business in US. Imagine paying 50 dollars on a each deposit of 10,000 while trying to run a business on slim margins, it will be infuriating!

I am not a US citizen, but I used to have a bank account with WF through a C-corp. I used to beg for discounts on each invoice to keep it profitable, but unfortunately it still went down. if I was made to pay 50 more on a "deposit" during that time, that would turn me into hulk mode lol

Close your bank and buy some silver if you are old and retired lol (NFA DYOR)
118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Expect The Bear Season. on: August 15, 2022, 09:10:16 PM
Considering the principle of the market, if the number of investors that will sellof outweighs those that will HOLD, what do you think will happen to Bitcoin? I will leave you to answer that.

The market may witness bear for a few days, but it won't do any permanent damage(as in won't last more than a month). Bitcoin isn't some kid in front of a self-driving Tesla, it won't die. That's for sure lol

There are a few things which I believe will happen for certain like:
->Media spreading FUD with baity titles to generate maximum ad revenue on this news. Will have a negative impact
->Not all Trustees will sell their coins. I am expecting like 20% of the coins to be in the market.
->Whales know economics, they would never "dump" an asset in a short period of time. They would be taking an unnecessary hit by choking demand with their own supply.
->Many will sell for cash and leave for Mexico or some SEA country lol

In conclusion, it will be just another day with red closing candles like a mature woman on her zillionth period.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency = The mother or father of all scams and bubbles on: August 15, 2022, 08:45:42 PM
Also, he thinks that blockchain is a simple thing and blockchain is nothing more than a sheet in "Excel"!
His brain is nothing more than a lump of carbon compounds.

Seems like he can't comprehend the concept of decentralization. He should attack the people(DoKwon,3AC,etc) instead of the technology.

He was born in a rich family with traditional wealth, Bitcoin feels like a threat to him for obvious reasons. People who are on the top, will try to deter changes which can topple the current status quo. No surprises here.
120  Economy / Economics / Re: China's debt bomb looks ready to explode on: August 15, 2022, 08:30:14 PM
Is it possible? Yes. But that dosen't mean that much because most of the issues can be offset by givernment meassures. It's not the first time a big player like that had economic issues (great depression wink wink), and in some cases they got through it even stronger.
But this situation is unprecedented. More than 30% of China's GDP directly depends on real estate market and that's a lot. These events will set china back by a decade and it's certain to happen(Probably by mid-September)

I believe they have to make a lot of redistribution so the balance tally, but they have a huge income and they are not going to let their system to fail easily.
You can't write money into existence without even worse consequences(inflation).

Why would US help them tho? A failing Chinese economy will be golden for US here, they will get the goods for cheap and favourable terms in future deals.
If anything, US will try to accelerate their fall else it will be US in the meat grinder Smiley
