EDIT: Welcome back, Gyrsur  Grin

Thank you brother in arms.  Grin

Looks like Black Rock & Co. are buying massive amounts of physical BTC OTC and are hoping not to trigger the ATH again. Some nasty players build massive sell walls against the buying pressure. I smell conspiracy for not lifting up the price too soon before the Halving.

Suckers.

Let's recapitulate:
The massive sellwalls, as intimidating as they might appear, help to keep the price down, which is not the worst thing pre-Halving, because it makes Bitcoin look more attractive, price wise. On the other hand, drying up OTC markets will do us an additional favor later in the cycle.
Blackrock (and co.) is aware of and trying to delay the unavoidable supply shock. This is fine, because it will come anyway.
If only the mt.gox coins were already released, to take away future uncertainties, but i watched the wallet tracker yesterday and there was null of movement, so the recent twatter news (currently known as "X") about payouts, even double payouts must have been fake.

Watching the chart of BTC distribution chilled my concerns instantly, 10 millions of BTC in private hands, the ETF hyenas are currently running for their lives.
Now isn't that really sweet?  Grin

EDIT: It's just useless to look too negatively at things that cannot be changed. Embrace.

Maybe it's just me, being overly positive today, because my new astro-camera arrived today.

I was planning to install Solar system in my home for last 2 years because electricity prices are too high and there is lots of load shedding specially in summers. Temperature goes high to 40 - 45 Celsius  here (Pakistan). This bull run is a blessing for me as I have acquired necessary funds to finance a solar system that can run 2  Inverter Split AC. I feel so happy while placing the order today.

Big thanks to BTC and an example of how Bitcoin is helping people in improving there living standards.
Hopefully it is ONLY a small part of your BTC stash since it does not seem to be a great time to be selling BTC... to each their own.
JJG I know it's still too low to sell bitcoin but trust me I badly needed financial assistance for my solar system installation. Reason I have already mentioned. This summer me and my family will chill thanks to BTC
Don't worry I still have bitcons that I well sell only once Bitcoin strikes 100k.
Moreover, our journey with Bitcoin is never ending. We won't stop accumulating bitcoins no matter what circumstances are.

According to your forum registration date, you are ONLY barely 4 years into bitcoin, so yeah, maybe I can give you a break on the solar panel system, but still I can hardly consider that you would necessarily be in a position to be selling very many BTC, especially since you are claiming that you are still in accumulation mode.. so why sell with one hand and buy with the other.. since you are the one who says that you are supposedly still accumulating.

Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to yuck your yum, but selling BTC does not seem to be a mode to accumulate more BTC... #justsaying

Certainly not.
When reading WatChe's explanation i remembered when i was offering my brother in law 0.2 BTC for roofing (i wanted to help his poor heroin-addicted ass), i think the price was pretty low, not much after the mindrust-event, when he replied "BTC will never go over $10k again" and refused, while he happily took the equivalent amount in fiat money. Well, months later, at a very similar stage of last cycle, i still had the 0.2 BTC, sold them with another 0.4 BTC which i had invested in the early bull phase ($9k to $25k-ish it was from in to out, rougly), which were destined to help financing the house extension, because Covid drove up the material prices (only by about 2x so far, lucky me).
However, i was aware that selling this early wasn't the way to accumulate more BTC, but it was helping to raise the value of our home (in case we have to sell our home some day, to leave the EU) and increased the overall quality of life at home.
I wouldn't do anything different if i had a second chance, though.

(EDIT: I mixed up the numbers a lil bit, beacuse i remember i got out more than 0.6x$25k, when revisiting the chart i must have sold at $38-$42k/BTC in 2021)

But, yeah, JJG, it is what it is: A tradeoff (in various ways i won't cover explicitly).

In the case of WatChe, i can just congratulate him that he doesn't put the fiat from his sale into more or less useless, needless things and/or services, while keeping the BTC would have been a little better (in future hindsight, practically), but don't forget: YOLO.

@WatChe: Take care for proper cooling (airflow! for better performance) and spacing (for repair issues) around the panels. And electric security. A burning roof is not a good roof Wink We're speaking several hundreds of Volts with a good Amperage.

Thanks!

Modern day "AI" fucking sucks.

I was wanting to beat JJG in post length, but it's not possible. I don't have the time or the interest to do it myself, so wanted to be clever and use "AI".

I asked that racist piece of crap Gemini:

Quote
Make a 1000 point bullet list of why you should in invest into Bitcoin, positive reasons only.

And this is the piece of shit answer

Maybe you should just ask here in the forum....?  Wink

Sorry, but EXPhorizon won't answer, i fear.
The Cuntonian is banned, Roach is missing (not really missed, though)...

EDIT: I misread your answer, but you get the idea?

What the fucking Oppenheimer JayJuanHeimer!

I think this is the first time I merit a post that I wasn't able to FULLY read.

i have literally worn the rubber coating of the scroll wheel on a mouse off from this thread, i think i uploaded a picture of it a while back.

Not surprised at all... but... what I really wonder is if dragonvslinux will try to reply back... or just concede the "fight" to JJG.

All the bets are against him right now tbh. I don't remember anyone surviving the impact of a wall of such size.

While many of the wall's building blocks were quotes...
But still, even mass-texters like Nullius would be impressed.

Some good recovery imho

Pretty steep recovery. I wonder what's going to happen at the top (ATH).
But at this pace it should be easy to push through. At least easier than yesterday.
This smells like real pre-Halving FOMO. Sweet!
111  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 06, 2024, 06:48:41 AM
We finished Tuesday (UTC) well over where we started Monday... one day up, one day down but basically up.

I can't believe how many crybabies seem to think it was some horrible big dip. It was just a little short-term long squeeze. No big deal.

The ETF boys are not going to stop accumulating bitcoins just because some fools prefer fiat currencies or like gambling with leverage.

More ATHs please.

I also had a glance over current MSM news and i only came across articles about breaking the ATH, not a single word about the correction.
Aside of that, as usual: Risky, volatile, backed by nothing, Satoshi Nakamoto, ETFs vs. SEC.... blah, blah.

Looking at the charts, people seem to continue to buy. If i were a bear, i would start hibernating through 2024.

EDIT: Got Bitcoin-earrings made of wood in my mind today. Need to make veneers first. Olive, Ebony and Redwood are on my list. We'll see how this turns out.

112  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 05, 2024, 08:36:03 PM
Just a 20% ish haircut

We are used to get those….
Meanwhile watching season 2 of Halo and I like it.

Even being used to it, it still hurts. This is pretty typical behavior after a market top, which is concerning. Ignoring the outside factors and just being a chartist, I would say we will most certainly gap back down to $59K and retest which way the market wants to go there. If it defends the double bottom, it could go back up. I think the market wants to go down now though. If I were a trader I wouldn’t try to fight it. As a holder I just have to try and not panic if we head all the way down into the 40s, knowing more money and a halving is on the way soon.

In fact, hodling is max easy. You do nothing in the face of anything.
No fear, no panic, no decisions to meet.
Go figure.

EDIT: Problems start after you decide to sell. Questions arise: When? How much? Where? As long as you buy&hodl everything becomes a no-brainer.

Just happened to request account deletion at an EU regulated exchange service, which they followed after a short Email reply.
I was informed that they will keep my data in an encrypted database for 10 years because of various laws demanding to keep records of business data.
However, i registered to this exchange service as a beginner in 2017, just to find out that they charge you the amount of fiat for the coins you wanted to buy by the time they receive your SEPA payment on their bank account. I found this useless and embarassing for dealing with Bitcoin at its given volatility and never used the service for any transaction, settled with a less known broker service where you pay the "now" price and get the coins after they got your money.

Pretty fucked up, because their duty to have detailed business data ready over the course of 10 years directly interferes with "the right to be forgotten" of EU GDPR Art. 17 & 19  Angry
Well in this case, you are forgotten after 10 years. How messed up is that?!

As of the correction of the overheated BTC market, zooming out is the way to go and make things look more positive again.
If i would have had access to the part of my coins on exchanges, i would have sold a small amount to get in at $5k lower or so, but i was away and i do not do anything Bitcoin related from my smartphone other than price checking and WO reading. Sucks a wee bit, but i'm not really grumpy about it.

EDIT: Checking my stats i'm still up 10% since a week, 45% since a month. Pretty good in the face of another Bitcoin death  Cool

114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 05, 2024, 06:54:00 PM
The mempool has started creeping up a bit over the last week. This is pretty typical after a price increase as people move coins to exchanges. Elevated levels of interest I’m sure play a role as well. The ETFs are running the show right now, otherwise I would say we’ll see some consolidation and a return to a falling mempool before another big leg up. We’ll see though. ETFs are back sucking up BTC in 6 more hours.

In case you didn't notice, tomorrow it's D-Day for Blackrock's first Shitcoin Spot ETF at the SEC.
When i watch the BTC/ETH creeping upwards slowly, i guess some speculative folks are trying to get a share of ETH from part of their BTC in anticipation of a stronger move, following whichever statement from the SEC. If the SEC decides against the ETF, which i think is quite likely, those people will lose quite some amount of their BTC stack, when Ether goes down after the (imo, good) news. Some will be waiting for a sell-the-news event in case of positive confirmation etc. you know the story.

Sorry, but i was wrong. The correct date is 10th of March. I don't know why i was under assumption that today was 03/09.

Bitcoin BTC is going up forever?

You think

No chance. Its dead

That's one of the most fascinating facts about Bitcoin, it goes up forever despite dying hundreds of times. They could call it "Deadcoin" as well...

It's very OK if we enter the infamous pre-Halving correction today.
In the end, it's a ripple in the ocean when zooming out.

I didn't expect to break ATH so easily. Think of all those Losers crying "I didn't manage to sell the top!", (EDIT: In 2021) they set their sells around ATH to compensate for their "losses".
Sells are losses anyway, from a Hodler's perspective.
