Bill Gates: "I'm not bullish on Bitcoin"
https://twitter.com/BitcoinMagazine/status/1501667762552324099

WO-gang: We don't f*ck**ng care

Translation: Bill Gates wants to buy more Bitcoin on the cheap.

Todays goal: Feel good.
Progress: Merely able to open my eyes.

EDIT: Hooray! Hit my sub $40k buy target. Feeling 10% closer to my goal now.  Cool

So the Barts are back. These manipulators can only come out when buy and sell volumes are low. So I figure that the only buyers now are us LTH DCA types, and we aren't selling ever, so we need some other buyer demand to come in before we see the Barts disappear I reckon.

The good news regarding the Barts is that they only happen near the lows, so downside risk is minimal for the medium term I reckon.

Anyway, these prices are fine by me as I am happy to DCA for another year at least.

That's the reason i called the Bart out to d_eddie yesterday and set my orders accordingly. Low volume.

For the time being, it looks like "Buy the rumor".

Followed by "Bart in the news"?  Grin

But I would still like to hear some more opinions on this.

OK, yeah. Thanks!
Seems like the government has now realized that they can't just bring out the eDollar right now, so they concentrate on stablecoins (for whatever reason). No word on POW and privacy coins, prolly just wanting a piece of the cake while trying to stop just watching the Dollar slowly dying.

Europe is more like critcal regarding BTC and crypto, because these recently orchestrated fears of "russian capital flight" and attack-weaponry financing.
I suggest, just like with stopping buying russian oil and gas, they will hesitate to make a move until things cool down and "bad boy Bitcoin" is no more a real threat to muh economy and they have to admit "it's not even possible to just ban Bitcoin" or the likes.
Primarily Germany acting like a pussy in this particular case.

Question to Ukrainians and Russians - Why am I receiving in social media pictures and video of crippled Russian soldiers bodies and corpses? Often with a message like "that your meat back, we dont need it". Or footages of destroyed military equipment. And all these video are with maximum aggression and bad language. I suppose I got all that because I use Cyrillic or post on Russian in social media. I am not Russian, I only speak that language. Or what the hell this is it at all? Propaganda or an act to threat me ? Or idea is to show me what is really going on in Ukraine right now?

Update your short info that you're not pro-Russia, but just speaking russian.
Can't do much other than that, maybe reporting and blocking the offenders?

USA now threatening China with secondary sanctions?

Started  thinking as I read your post, isn't " fulfilling some purpose in a society, like a gearwheel" and "have a distinct, important role in their pack" the same thing? and isn't that why dogs fit so good in human packs.

No, because the gearwheel can't turn on it's own and is just to be replaced if it's defective.

The role in the pack can change on agreement with the pack, and members bring themselves in as the individuals they are.

Or put another, more simple way:

Function can easily be replaced, but not personality.

Dogs integrate well with humans, because they see no big difference between human and dog. The dog becomes a little like the human, which helps building relations.
Relationships wouldn't be possible without adjusting to each other to some extent.

I still feel like i didn't make the point clear enough, but it might give you a good hint.
Sure, there are "functional dogs" too, but these were not inside the scope of my example.

Bottom line is this Ukraine has plenty of issues to deal with, Azov is not the only one.
Other parts in the world in need of a little de-communism and then there is sunshine again.

At this point, I think it is Russia that has issues.  Here is Putin discussing his current predicament.

I saw the last clip a couple of days earlier, but ir was described as russian intruders stopping people from leaving Mariupol...
Dunno which version is the truth, or if it's even some unrelated footage from the past at some other place of the world.

Does anyone have experience with smuggling ppl out of Russia during wartime? I have a friend and an uncle (and his family) who are Russian, living in Russia now.
They want to gtfo asap and don't know of any possibilities. Because the world is currently unfairly biased against all Russians, I doubt they will get refugee status in nearby countries and they might get arrested if found trying to cross the border. I wouldn't put it past Putler to put them all in Siberian Gulags for life...

Not possible to just go "on holiday" to china, flying out from there?

After a massive surgery last year…. 8 March 2022 will remembered when losing my best friend.

That's all I've got Dude, so sorry for your loss...

It's a cruel joke. Man's perfect companion, the epidimy of loyalty love and adoration. Play, fight, eat, or sleep always by our side. No better friend, except... only 1 sixth of our average lifespan.
There are no words that can ease the pain you feel, only time can dull its sharp edge. But know this, the man who has never felt sorrow is a man who was never truly loved. Your pain is proof positive of his love for you, and yours for him. Now his pain is over but the love carries on.

First of all, i feel very sorry for your loss, El_duderino.
I grew up with dogs, i had one myself, had two girlfriends with dog(s), one of them i married. (EDIT: The girlfriend, of course!)
Wonderful creatures, great partners, best friends.
As long as your pal will be remembered, he's still kind of alive. In your memories. Still, very hard to let them go. I hope he didn't have to suffer in his final times.

My way to cope with the lifespan issue is that i try to become aware, as often as possible, that a dog lives every second of its life to the fullest. Every moment could be the start of the next adventure. Putting so much energy into living a life so intense, results in a much more "dense" life, while as a human, you are mostly raised and educated to live a "flat" life, fulfilling some purpose in a society, like a gearwheel. Until you get replaced. Dogs are none like that. They have a distinct, important role in their pack, may it only be as small as a pack of two. A dog can be your master at life, when you allow it.

It's a cruel joke.

Existence is a cruel joke.

Then you get to die at the end, go to Heaven, and have a very impassioned eternal debate with God about what the fucking point of all that was, anyway.

Fucking stupid space rock...

Bob, don't overthink it. A human life is precious, scarce (most people only get one) and thus of infinite value. It's a gift, so fucking treat it like a gift.
Consider the probabilities, in the great chaos of existence, in this place of the universe (or multiverse), spits out a solar system as the home of a stupid space rock with a life expectation like a drop of water - compared to the oceans - to create a time slice with perfect conditions to form an environment where carbon molecules bind to each other with the help of other elements and create complex, living creatures that learn to walk, talk, read/write, become aware and express their emotions, originating in a massive organic supercomputer, reduced to the size of half a football and giving you this experience to connect with other human beings, in real life, as well as in this here space basically consisting of ones and zeros. The chance of us witnessing the birth and evolution of Bitcoin, a once-in-a-lifetime-of-a-stupid-space-rock-opportunity? Almost NIL! Acknowlegde how fucking lucky you are. Everyone of us should. This is a way to express our gratefulness.

And heaven, my dear, as well as hell are just states of perception, or states of being. The genius mind of Nietzsche figured that out, so you better acknowledge this as a truth.
You can almost go nuts through the many forms of happiness, as well as through the many forms of pain. Just let that sink in, i'm sure you will get it.

By the way: Thanks to the church for manipulating the teachings of this enlightened dude called "Jesus", to control their followers with fear, uncertainty and doubt, when instead they should guide them to reach the state of "heaven" in their one life, like their original master intended. So fuck the church, i can't repeat it often enough. (EDIT: Better praise Albert Hofmann, by the way, which discovered a great opportunity to sneak peek into this).

It's our stupid, displeased ego that despises this wonderful state of being as a cruel joke. Don't fall for that, or you will be stay most time of your life in the "hell"-state.
There's no more chance, and you don't know when it's over. Make something out of it. Don't let your stupid ever-ranting ego make you just throw it away.

A dog has no ego. It must be a wonderful life. They will teach you, if you let them.
Sometimes i thought they want to teach us, as hard as they can, but we just seem not to be able to understand them.
You wanted to get dogs on the farm, didn't you?  Wink

How did you people who are complaining about Ukrainian neonazis feel about the Freedom Convoy being smeared in the media for being neonazis because a handful of them apparently were? It's the same thing. You can't judge a whole country/movement based on just a few non-representative anecdotes.

I'm sure that the Ukrainian government is corrupt and has oppressed many people within its borders at various occasions, BTW, which is why I wouldn't donate to their official BTC addresses or anything like that. Just because one side is bad doesn't mean that the other side is good. But that doesn't justify Putin's invasion. If government corruption or bad domestic policies justified war, then everyone would be at war with everyone. IMO the US's invasion of Iraq was far from a justified war, and Ukraine is way better than Iraq was.

The "precision strikes" that were carried out by the US in Iraq (or Syria), which RU claimed to carry out in UA, didn't actually primarily aim on civil targets.
As "bad" as UA may be or not be, this makes Russia look very bad, i mean like on Nazi-level.
They shut their country off from the internet, while full propaganda continues on russian media, Anonymous pretty locked out, can't take russian websites offline any more.
At that level and speed of isolation, RU looks like a candidate for North Korea v2, just that they have a lot more nuclear striking power and not much left to lose.
Interesting times.

EDIT: Putin's only valid justification of this invasion could be madness. Paranoia, developed in two years of pandemic isolation.

To have a chance to fully understand all this, you have to go way back, to the times around WW1.
You will probably see why it's best to not take any sides.
Narratives are stronger than facts (did i say that before?)
We may evolve beyond this, i'd suggest after some thousand years, at best.
Our brains are too small to withstand narratives, which make us stop thinking, or think less.
The good news: We have evolved so far that we are able to identify problems. Now we have to take the bigger step to be able to solve them, without causing more problems.
Maybe the 90% of our brain potential most of us don't use (according to Albert Einstein) would come in handy...

It's bigger then that. Stories are no less important then facts. Every single thing that is man-made started as a story. And identity is based on stories, some of those stories we call 'history'. Much of what is going on in the world today revolves around identity, just look for it in the speeches of politicians from all walks of life.

One of those (hi)stories is the reason why western European countries are so eager to help Ukraine. Our stories here on the European continent are intimately intertwined. And we recognize ourselves in them. Humans are more inclined to help those whose identities resemble their own.

Century of the Self is must-see stuff!!

Correct. We are even story-driven lifeforms. We tell stories all the time, even to ourselves: In our minds, even when we sleep.
Everybody having a little bit of Meditation experience knows that the mind constantly chatters. A narrative species.

I think we may see a short term dip to the low 30Ks or even lower in the worst case scenario.

This week I think will be key with oil and gas prices going mental the central banks will have to react and I think most likely indicate that interest rate hikes are completely off the table.
Inflation is going to run rampant regardless of interest rate hikes anyway.

Whether governments will indicate that net zero green policies are out of the window for now I'm not sure, but probably not.

Personally I don't see how EVs will be viable if gas prices continue to go crazy (gas is used for much of electricity generation in Europe). Running them will cost as much as filling up with petrol soon and they cost far more to buy, so what is the point?

Once things settle down (and I think they probably will) towards the end of the year we could see major lift in the economies and a new ATH for BTC.

But for the moment I think it will be doom and gloom.

This would make the mid term prediction of $32k bottom and subsequent bull market resume true.
At the other hand, it would form a double bottom, which is also bullish, afair. But i stopped believing in patterns too much anyway.

Europe has way more Neonazis than the whole of Ukraine, still a lot less than a percent of the population.

.....

And what country in particular has its own nazi battalion like Azov fully incorperated in armed forces or a nazi political party?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5382794.msg59436134#msg59436134
In modern time there is no place for such junk.

Oh, they have, they just make it less obvious. At least parties and groups, not whole governments, you're right there.
However, with the "right" leadership on command, many european countries could create such armed structures in a snap, because the underground militia is already there, self-conserving since WW2, with connections to social and political realms.
In Ukraine you see the sprouts, the rest are still like seeds in the ground. Just add some water and you're there.

Not making fun of the misery of war here, but given that we are in a dead-end that seemingly can only be ended in MAD or Putin getting a "friendly" helping hand from fellow Russians in "resigning" I think we should laugh as long as we still can. (As some commenter pointed out on CNN, Putin has no reverse gear, I don't see any other alternative to these two outcomes).

Also the whole fun watching corn price go up or down is gone now. When it goes up, I feel guilty because it possibly goes up because or despite people dying. If it goes down I feel ashamed that I think that is a problem while people die.

Fuck Putin for taking the fun out of wall observing.

+1WOsMerit if i didn't merit your post already.

True. But there is never a single person to blame for anything in this world.
Satoshi Nakamoto wouldn't have brought Bitcoin to life alone, talking of responsability.
When it looks simple, it has a complex background more often than not.
