I've always been interested in the concept of 'lucid dreaming'. This is where you train yourself (masks, with blinkenlights) to actively take part in your dreams, you can then control them.

I read about it pretty hard several years ago, but some of the proponents were too auto-magical for me.

Yeah, i also know this type of literature, but it all left me meh in the end.

I became interested in lucid dreaming after my first "accidential" lucid dream, which was the only one to date. It was in black and white, and while it was going on like a normal dream, a close friend came by and started chatting with me, up to the point where he said something like "but you know that we're in a dream right now? yes. You can do what you'd like to do, act like you want to, the dream will allow it."
Then i started to consciously experience the "dreamworld", with that distinct body feeling, like floating. Did some things, changed some scenes, played around a bit, found a bike and rode it, when i suddenly couldn't feel my feet operating the the bicycle drive any more. This was the moment where i lost control of the dream and woke up.

I was baffled and started to read about how to "train" lucid dreaming. The most common technique seemed to ask yourself repeatedly, at any time you think of it, like "wait... am i dreaming this?", ideally up to 100 times a day. The (more serious) literature's author(s) claimed that the mind gets trained to ask this question in your dreams, to make you aware that you're in a dream. Next step was to try looking at your hands (which were said to look unnaturally strange) and/or feet (which can't be looked at in dreams for some reason). This way you should get aware that you can set your actions willingly, at which point you can just change aspects of the dream(s) increasingly and become fully aware of doing it.

I tried to keep asking myself the "am i dreaming this" questions throughout the day, but i became distracted way too often (as a workaholic) to do it over about 20-30 times a day, for no more than a couple of consecutive days.

Maybe this is some sort of use for you, to try it again with more success.

During Chinese Warring States period, a man named Chuang-tzu had a dream that he was a butterfly flying from flower to flower, feeling free, blown about by the breeze.
Upon waking, he wondered, “Am I a man, dreaming I am a butterfly; or a butterfly, dreaming I am a man?”

Dreams often do not mean anything and when they do, we usually cannot immediately discern the meaning.

One of the most creative analogies on dreaming was "audiovisual representation of a virtual machine's garbage collector's run", by a programmer collegue.

"there are signs"
"attempted"

Translation: Uncomfirmed bullshit.
Message: Crypto serves best for those trying to hide their illegal activities.

This is not just naive, it's arrogance mixed with idiocy.
As many sanctions do hit the ordinary russian people way more than the russian government/system, LG is just harrassing these people, who are just trying to save their savings. Seems like some politicians think it's a good idea to divide the russian people to turn against Putin and solve the problem by revolting, though history is teaching us that people tend to unite and stand together even stronger in times of "foreign pressure".

Of course, Honey Badger don't care, and they will learn the hard way that Bitcoin cannot be stopped, but I sense that this will cause some wild volatility and/or FUD in the coming weeks/months. I hope I'm wrong.

Europe is not that big of a player in BTC, though.
If i'd be a conspiracy theorist, i'd be eager to think that the US is trying to convince EU in their plans banning crypto, and if the EU actually does (tries to), the US "regulatively" opens the crypto market to take advantage of the crypto vacuum in the EU.  Shocked

I'm sure some pseudo-genius PHD psychologist character could come up with deep meaning...

I suffer with REM Sleep Disorder. We should definitely talk in meatspace if the opportunity ever presents itself. I know exactly what you mean, about your "weird" dreams. Some of mine tend toward themes of being "lost" and unable to "find my way home/the destination I'm seeking". Crazy stuff, and the REM Sleep Disorder vocalizations and parasomnic-limbic actions are pretty fucking amazing, I'm told.

Interesting.
As a non PHD pseudo genius psychologist i'd say this sounds like dream manifestations of a control freak's deepest fears  Cheesy
Ever been to sleep lab?
I was in the lab two times to get my brain activity mirrored in sleep cause of daytime sleepiness. Takes me about two minutes of lying on my back, eyes closed, to trigger microsleep events. This also gets very annoying in sitting meditation. The lab results were showing that i don't stay in the deep sleep state for more than 24 minutes (at best), but my memory impairment keeps me from memorizing all those dreams, while i move comparably little when i am sleeping.
On these daytime sleep attacks, i always stay at REM levels, with very active dreams based on sensory input by the happenings around me. Reportedly, i don't move at all in this state.

We all have families to support & decisions to make. I think I’ve played it near perfectly to be honest.

Peace of mind is an extremely undervalued feature of our lives.
Lucky smart you are if you stashed more bitcoin than 99% of people here on the thread, our destiny was just in front of our eyes, we only had to pick it up.

I am not in your condition, everyone has his own story, I will show up at work for a long time, but I have no envy, just respect for you.

That's the way!
Listen up eXPHorizon and the likes!
I can only second that. Envy is also the root of many evils. Best to avoid/unlearn this useless leftover from childhood.

Weird, bitcoinity.org says "This domain name expired on 2022-03-23 15:20:23
Click here to renew it." But it still works on my phone. Is bitcoinity down for you too?

Seems they passed on domain renewal?
I guess your phone or network provider has some good cache or only the homepage was changed by the provider (to what you see).
Try opening a bookmarked (long) url (with parameters), i think all the other files needed for operation are still there.

But I consider it less likely for that to happen then someone sending you the 3.69 btc

I'd give him 3.69 BTC if he ate my ass after I return from a Pancho's all-you-can-eat buffet.

Some people are into that. I stumble on such videos sometimes...

Makes me gag and I really don't get it, at least for the one eating the shit/vomit, I guess I can't kinda understand the pleasure of shitting on somebody.

I must say, though, 3.69BTC is tempting.

"stumble...  Wink

"gag"...  Wink

 Grin Grin Grin

Irony mode off, now.

I listened to a radio interview of a (female) scat-pornstar. She wasn't really into it, but she got offered a lot of money, so she got curious and tried. Later in the interview, she said the most interesting aspect for her were the various taste nuances. Generally, like men's poop tends to taste more "spicy" than women's scat.
And some other not quite delicate info i won't repeat here  Cheesy

For myself, i couldn't even try to taste a peanut sized piece of arsecream, not even for 3.69 BTC...

EDIT: I got thrown out at 17 at home, had to start living on my own. Got from painting rooms and fences to an IT expert within five seven years and still had time to do drugs, go to parties and chill out with friends. (Edited. It were actually five years until i started working in the IT industry for a living, self employed roughly two years later.)

Honduran president Xiomara Castro to announce Bitcoin as legal tender.

Quote
Bitcoin to be announced as official legal tender in Honduras, one year after El Salvador adopted Bitcoin, sources say.

While the move would mark the second sovereign state to adopt Bitcoin, Honduran President Xiomara Castro is said to have commented, “we are still early.”

“We must not allow El Salvador to be the only country escaping dollar hegemony,” Castro is said to have said. “Honduras has the right to move toward the First World.”

Castro will make an announcement on Monday morning by “putting on the lasers,” one source said.

More to come as this breaking story unfolds.

Though this week was shitty and stressful AF, this quote finally saved it  Cool
Time to chill out a few days.

Ukraina is on the go!

Russian losses today, yes today!

Tanks: 26
Armourad vehicles: 96
Artillery: 40 (!) highest on one single day
MLRS: 6
Anti aircraft: 7
Aircraft: 3
Helicopters: 13
Soft vehicles: 179 (!)
UAV: 2

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1V48omJgirfeGZ6wPEuAsbc6drb27DK9HxcyHHs00S-Y/edit#gid=0
https://twitter.com/KyivIndependent/status/1503996631536091142/photo/1

I have seen some crazy footage. UA seems to use some remote controlled, mobile cannons, using anti-tank ammo. About ten shots and an armored troop transporter is done. Soft vehicles need 2-3 hits. Camera guided. Noice stuff there...

EDIT: Gotta run. See you in the evening maybe, but eventually it's Sauna time today. #HODL
1072  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 16, 2022, 10:34:20 AM
Russian losses so far, 13 800 killed, 430 tanks, 1 375 armored vehicles, 819 soft vehicles, 190 howitzers, 70 rocketartillery, 43 anti aircraft systems, 84 aircrafts, 108 helicopters och 11 large drones.

And unconfirmed reports of two ships sunk outside Odessa as russian landingforces are approaching right now, they are being shelled hard.
Ukrainian forces are launching a counter attack nortwest of Kyjiv.
Ukrainian forces have taken ground and can once again shell the airport of Cherson, russian forces are fleeing the airport and at least 5 or six helicopters are on fire, most likely many more are damaged.

The Ukrainian army has captured more equipment from the Russians than they have lost, and the equipment captured is better than the lost one, for example lost Ukrainian tanks are mostly old T-64 whereas the captured tanks are T-72 and T-90s, they are upgrading!

Ukraine is actually winning this war.

as a comparison american deaths during the whole Vietnam war, from 1954 to 1975 was 58 220.

Thanks for the stats.
Additonally, russian troops are starting to experience shortages of ammo.
While UA lost sovereignty over airspace quite early, RU still failed to establish it.

Putin might have been a good FSB agent, but it doesn't look like he's a great stragegist/warlord.
What's that old saying? You get what you give?

EDIT: IMO they should just divide the country into Eastern and Western Ukraine and continue working on West-UA to be able to join the EU.
NATO expansion (eastwards) wouldn't be the very best idea, though.
What a shame that even in Europe we still can't live in peace together.

...

Either i totally confuse this or the parliament vote has to pass commission first to become a law?

This is how it works in the EU:

All the institutions of the European Union are involved in decision-making in one way or another.

This is how decisions are made in the EU:

Heads of state and government make decisions on general policies in the European Council.
The Commission makes proposals for new laws.
The Parliament reviews the proposals and passes decisions together with the Council of Ministers.
The Council of Ministers and Parliament approve the laws together.
The Commission controls that decisions are followed in all member states.
The European Court of Justice settles disagreements that may come up.

In the end, it all depends on the parliaments of each member state that may or may not have to pass such a law. The AML5, that was adopted a couple of years ago has not yet been adopted in my country - which means that I can go to a physical crypto exchange and buy or sell cryptocurrency up to EUR 2000 per transaction without KYC, which means I can draw dozens thousand EUR per day using various individual branches of this type.

Yep, so i totally confused it. Thanks for the clear info and example, also merited your post.

I fail to understand how BTC will ever shift from PoW to PoS, surely it's not even possible. What does that mean?

There will be no change, it's a crazy idea of people who don't even know how to define Bitcoin, let alone what POS would mean for Bitcoin. The proposed laws would not actually apply to all those cryptocurrencies that already exist and are traded or mined in the EU, but would in some way try to force them to start using green/renewable energy sources.

Quote
It also says that energy-intensive crypto assets that are already in use in the EU before the legislation comes into effect, will have to "set up and maintain a phased rollout plan to ensure compliance with such requirements" as specified in another part of the framework.

EU bureaucrats are not even able to read studies that clearly show how harmless Bitcoin mining is in the overall picture, let alone when it comes to the EU.

Either i totally confuse this or the parliament vote has to pass commission first to become a law?

Just watching this awesome comedy show (think it's called 'EU Versailles summit press conference' or sth). Honorable Secretary 'Zensursula, Flinten Uschi' van der Leyen:

We will phase out the use of Russian oil, gas and coal ...
<rethoric silence>

First it was; Europe needs to be more independent from Russian energy, they need to do something about it. Now they are talking to eachother to excelerate the process and it is suddenly a ''comedy show''

Do you really think the energy transition will be completed in just a few months with so many countries? Stay realistic, 5 years is fast.

Russia can accelerate that, don't worry.
China will happily buy their excess gas and oil, at a lower price.
Zensursula will be shocked... (hostile actions towards our economy... blah...)

They can buy but there is no infrastructure for it.

Pass it to Europe, for a little fee? Grin

See, we don't need russian gasoil, China delivers instead!  Roll Eyes

Well, they are soldiers, so they'll have to die as long as Putin wants them to.
Being in the army is great, but only in peaceful times...

Or in case you attack someone who is at least ten times weaker than you - shelling hospitals, schools and TV towers is even easier because they don't fight back. Meanwhile, Russian morale is declining, especially when they read that from now on they will be stalked by the world's best sniper.

This is the only reason why i was happy that the fucking convoy got stuck and ukrainians are dismantling it from the front as well as from the back.
But this will take a while and won't bring back the killed civilians, even worse, many more will be following.

This whole thing is a fucking crime. From the US intervention to Maidan, the nazi groups, the russian propaganda, the attack while lying to the workd, the forced recruiting of 18+ years, young men, and sending them into gunfire. It's very wrong that all that led to this led to this, but there's no way back now. We, as humanity, are kind of doomed to fuck things up, on increasing scales.

I think CBDCs are worse than the majority of shitcoins regarding fungibility, dystopian control by design, so what would be a proper name for this?

govcoin (Bad suggestion, people might confuse "gov" with something positive.)
1984coin (Not shitty enough, and confuse illiterate.)
pedocoin (Seems to be a common disorder among those in power truly benefiting from such coin.)

****coin

Help me fill out the "****" here, need a catchy one.

bendovercoin
yourefuckedcoin

That's too traditional, like "Libra" or "Diem", something like

Pita

(for example) would be better as a timeless, state of the art name choice. It's all in the name, you know  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

While millions of Ukrainians are living in the horrors of war and children are dying because they have no food or water, in Russia people really have strange priorities - sanctions are clearly having an effect Roll Eyes https://twitter.com/nexta_tv/status/1501659933162586117
