101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fantastic day for NuBits and NuShares network on: December 02, 2014, 06:49:00 AM
Is it still closed source?

I wanted to dev an android app for it, for free, weeks ago but it was impossible to get the source code.

Kinda scared me away....

Shareholders voted and passed a motion to create an official NuBits Android wallet (as in separate from the Coinomi wallet) about a week ago. My guess is that it will be done within a few weeks. You can find information about the motion and wallet right here.

You can find the draft motion for opening sourcing right cha, and discussion about Nu open source in general over here.

Hope that helps!

Litecoin is a popular coin for trading on pumps and dumps. You will probably be able to get a better price than today if you wait. However Litecoin's development is.. non existent?  It doesn't seem like are doing anything. It's only a matter of time before they are replaced by better tech, of which they are several.

(1 billion Bitshares vs. 2.49 billion as per today)

They increased their available supply by 1.5 billion BitShares, using the same trick Ripple did the other day.  Gliss is really proving himself to be corrupt if he's manipulating the available supply to trigger pump and dumps.

That doesn't look quite right, looks like it increased by .5 billion.

Is Bitshares proof of work? (I suspect it's only a matter of time before a POW overtakes Bitcoin)

Did you mean to say PoS?
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nothing at stake - debunked? on: November 26, 2014, 10:45:40 AM
Never mind the technicalities, Proof of Stake is an economically stupid idea. The world already runs on a version of it - take a look outside at where that's got us.

What?

You earn more money by... having more money. Instead of doing anything useful with it. Breeding more money out of existing money is an ultimately pointless exercise. No service is provided, no real wealth is ever created.

You earn money for securing the network. In most cases it's a trivial amount. People with money can afford to purchase  expensive mining equipment, and the same thing happens, only Earth's resources were wasted to create that hardware and the electricity powering it.

Has one of these nothing at stake attacks ever been pulled off to begin with?
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is peercoin(PPC) so undervalued? on: November 25, 2014, 04:21:21 AM
Because it has no real adoption. Soon real panic will start to set in. you are going to see massive amounts of peercoin days destroyed as the old whales want to take whatever cash is left to take.

Pretty sure that already happened a long time ago. Price has fallen so much from it's ATH high I really don't see where panic would come from now, especially now that it will have a certain level of demand from this point forward due to NuBits.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 8 out of the 15 top marketcaps are not mineable! on: November 24, 2014, 11:00:17 AM
PoW just isn't necessary in every case anymore. I'm not going to say it's useless, but proof of stake allows a lot more people to participate without having to buy hardware that will end up becoming obsolete very quickly. Depending on the goals of the cryptocurrency, it doesn't even matter if it's PoW or PoS, like NuBits. 1 NBT = $1, period, so it's not some arms race on getting the biggest piece of the initial distribution pie.

Also, market caps are dumb. It's much easier to reach a high market cap when you have most of the coins supply out on day 1, so it's not a very good way to look at things to begin with.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NuShare holders recieve their first dividend payment, $50,000 worth in PPC on: November 24, 2014, 02:59:42 AM
Can i still buy into this?

NuShares are currently traded on Bter and CCEDK. Anyone can become a shareholder just like anyone can buy Bitcoin. Difference between NuShares and Bitcoin is that you'll be paid for holding them, and you'll get to vote on things that will affect the network.

112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is peercoin(PPC) so undervalued? on: November 24, 2014, 02:56:29 AM

I've heard some trollbox rumours there could be manipulation and surpression of price going on related with nubits. My only problem is that i don't care enough to dig deeper. Maybe this thread brings some info on it.

The relation between NuBits and Peercoin is that NuShare dividend payments are paid out to NuShare holders with Peercoin. In other words, if you buy NuShares and hold them, you will periodically be paid Peercoins.  When it's time for a dividend payment, Peercoins are bought off the open market and given to NSR holders. So NuBits does not suppress or manipulate PPC price, it just increases it's demand at times of NSR dividend payments. We saw this a few days ago when NuShare holders got their first dividend payment, 68k PPC were bought and given to NSR holders, it rose PPC's price roughly 15%.

Anyway, the market cap of coins has little to do with how innovative they are, otherwise Litecoin wouldn't STILL be in 2nd place. As much as I like Peercoin, it's development is incredibly slow. I wager no one would even care about it if it wasn't listed on BTC-E. Fortunately, with NuShares, PPC will always have value of some kind as dividend payments go out. If NuShares really take off, Peercoin might have a future yet.

113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NuShare holders recieve their first dividend payment, $50,000 worth in PPC on: November 21, 2014, 07:40:10 PM
How many PPC will i receive if i hold 1000 NuShares any idea?

The overview I linked will show you an approximate of how much $ you will make per planned payment.

Right now 1000 NuShares would cost you less than $3, your payments will be very small. Punching some quick math I think you would have gotten roughly 5 cents worth of PPC, so like 0.07 PPC? I think I did the math correctly there  Wink
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PPC] Peercoin Official Thread: Peerbox v0.24 Now Supports 2FA & Google Auth on: November 21, 2014, 03:47:30 AM
11.20.14

NuShare holders got their first dividend payment today. 68,306 PPC (Peercoins) were bought off the open market in the last two days, and distributed to shareholders. If you held NuShares for at least 36 hours before it went out, you have either received your dividend or can receive it by following this guide.

The other part of the dividend will involve around $22,000 worth of Peercoins bought soon.

The Nu network launched on September 23rd, 2014. NuShares are currently traded at Bter and CCEDK exchanges. More information can be found at NuBits.com

Depending on the response to this thread, I planned to update it as more dividends go out.

Happy trading!
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which alts are left that have some serious promise and WHY?? in DETAIL. on: November 14, 2014, 04:51:46 PM
Shameless plug for NuShares. Current market cap is less than 2 million, with the first dividend payment likely coming within 2 weeks ( if you own NSR at that time you will receive some). NuBits volume is #3 in all cryptocurrency right now, at over $1m. More exchanges are supporting NuBits & or NuShares every week, sales for NuBits are only going to increase, which means dividends will likely come faster. With a team and development as professional as Nu (see for yourself at NuBits.com, there's been several new client upgrades since it released less than two months ago) and such a small market cap, it has a ton of room to grow. Seems like a no brainer.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LITE COIN value in beginning of 2015? on: November 14, 2014, 04:04:31 PM
Litecoin isn't good for anything but daily trading and pump and dumps. Hasn't done anything in so long.. did it ever do anything?
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto currencies you've actually used on: November 14, 2014, 02:26:47 PM
Bitcoin and NuBits. That's about it.

Where you used NuBitss ? You pay for something ?

Yep, and used it to store value without switching my coins to USD on an exchange.

NuBits is stable and working! Been in the top 10 for crypto volume for a few weeks, most days anyway.
