My favorite part of these types of threads, is it is guaranteed to get all of the most abusive clowns and sad children's party magicians to pop out of the woodwork and expose themselves. Just like when they abuse the trust system to serve their own selfish goals, they can't help themselves.

Well, with this clown metaphor, I now have three earworms that I just can't shake.

I personally think this punishment is rather harsh for my minor transgressions. Especially the "Send in the Clowns." That one is particularly noisome. Perhaps another several month hiatus is in order...  Cheesy

Well, since I recently joined a signature campaign that pays me 30 USD worth of BTC per week, I guess this red dildo will be good news for me if it keeps low until I get paid. Looks like a buyers market to me at the moment. Locoiners better jump in while they can, since the halving is coming up.
103  Other / Meta / Re: Gangs of BitcoinTalk :) on: February 19, 2020, 12:54:28 AM
Is there a requirement for initiation to join a gang? I found this on the web, I listed some of it below.
  • Initiation by cop
  • Being jumped in or beat in
  • Sexed in
  • Jacked In

It has descriptions as well if you are interested. The link is below.

Well, in order to join the car clown gang, you need to lie in wait in a gutter until someone makes a post that is not to your liking. Then you must strike by painting them red and having them for lunch. Plagiarized whitepapers floating your way usually are followed with particularly juicy meals, IMHO.

Don't forget the worst gang around here, TMG aka "The Moderation Gang", if you do something against the rules of the gang, you will be punished. Misc: they are everywhere!
This list is in error. All above are riders of the clown car. Vod isn't a clown tho, he is a sad children's party magician that gets mad when you say he can't really pull quarters from his ears. As for Direwolf, he was granted his clown nose last summer.
TECSHARE is jealous, he actually wants to get in clown car gang but unfortunately this circus doesn't accept idiots.

Well, maybe we need to get a tractor trailer rather than a Volkswagen Bug. 100 clowns is an awful lot to cram into a such a small space, not to mention the hundreds of friends the clowns bring along for the ride.
Hey, we are talking about clown car here! There is more than enough room for every clown and their 500+ friends! Except room for tecshare, of course, he has his own jester gang.

Well, can we at least upgrade to a Lambo? I have terrible childhood memories of a vacation that I took in a Volkswagen Bug with my aunt. During the trip, we got into two accidents. One was a rollover, while everyone slept (including my aunt) and the second involved a Semi dragging the Bug for about a block because my aunt decided in the last minute to go straight in a double turn lane. If all of us clowns are going to cram into a car, it might as well be in style.
Also, why cram in a car at all? Wouldn't a fleet of funny looking tricycles be more practical?

Hello OP. You may want to investigate the hat club. They have a high membership and mostly hang out the Wall Observer thread. I consider myself a member even though I changed my avatar today. The mostly like talking about the current price of Bitcoin, however, they have been branching out.

P.S. I guess that I fall into the wannabe catagory of the Lauda cult.
107  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] AnotherBTCNoob scammed for 145$ on: February 18, 2020, 04:21:38 PM
You should start the flag and ask for support. Only the victim can start a red flag against someone. All people on DT can do is give him a yellow flag.

Thanks. Flag created.
Great, I have supported the flag. I hope you can get your money back Here is the link to the flag if anyone else wants to support it. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=1384

Seems @Fillippone and @bones261 accepted. Applied names already on Spreadsheet

Well, I haven't received official word, yet. But I'll change my signature and avatar now.  Smiley

Yes please, flag him as much as possible so other members would clearly see the situation with him

110  Economy / Reputation / Re: Trust System Abuse By TMAN on: February 17, 2020, 04:35:04 AM
This does have an effect on my ability to use the forum.

I just read Tman's negative trust comment to my partner who knows fuckall about BTC, much less the politics of this forum. The first thing he asked after I read the 1st few words was, "Was he drunk?" My partner qualifies as a totally clueless noob and wouldn't give any credence to this. However, if you want to believe that this nonsense is going to severely impact your bottom line, when your 40+ positive trust comments seem to more than counteract for this nuisance, then I guess your perception is your reality.
You're like a woman who bitches about receiving a diamond ring with a 1 carat stone that is E color and VVS clarity. I guess it could be bigger, whiter and more clean.

You could stop making excuses for him, and join me in advocating for his removal from the default trust.

Cute. We aren't just talking about speech. We are talking about what is effectively a penalty under a system of criminal justice here on the forum. If you are such a advocate of free speech, then you would be arguing for me, and against TMAN's abuse, for the simple act of me exercising my right to free speech. Of course why use logic, when you can simply throw that out the window and project your preferred bias onto everyone else and make excuses to serve those biases?

Exactly what actions are you recommending against TMAN? You've already done what you can do by excluding him from your trust list long ago and the fact that he is not currently on my include list is all that I can effectively do about it, since I am not on DT1. Quite frankly, Tman's comment against you is a reflection on his own character more than your's, anyway.

You don't have much if any experience trading here do you? The amount of fraud here makes people quite paranoid and fearful of losing their money. Some people are quite easily spooked, and it doesn't take much to do it. The thought process behind purchasing something is very much an impulsive process. That 2 seconds they take to question that rating is enough to simply end the impulse for a customer, and thus has a direct impact on my ability to trade here. I have seen it before in the past with Vod's abusive negative ratings. They don't know enough to know it should be disregarded, which is exactly my point.
I concede that Vod's and Lauda's negative comments may give a noob some pause. However, the only pause that I can see a noob having after reading Tman's comment is the time it takes to compose themselves after RFLAO.

Great. Remind me again please what excuses this behavior while others are punished harshly for such activity?
The same reason Mr Flint got away with printing absolute filth against Reverend Falwell.

Let me break it down for you real simple like.

The trust system (supposedly) is to help noobs prevent being scammed. As a result noobs rely upon it heavily. Negative rating people thus frightens away newer users from trading with people because they don't have the ability to distinguish between drunk idiots abusing it, and legitimate complaints backed by evidence.

What noob would actually read Tman's negative comment for you and not take it with a grain of salt? Many noobs may be quite naive, however I doubt that few would not trade with you because of it. I could be wrong...

LOL.  I think OP is at least a semi-troll, much as Kwuckduck was and their usernames are even similar.

Anyway, this sort of thing has happened many times in the past and it didn't even seem all that bad today.  I was getting an error for maybe a half hour or so, and then everything started working just fine.  And frankly, I don't see why anyone would need to make a thread about these DDoS attacks anymore, because they're going to keep happening and should be expected from time to time.
Well just as long as the DDos attack isn't coupled with a hacker compromising the Bitcointalk database like what happened in 2015, I guess it's just a mild nuisance.

What's the best defence against a nocoiner: burning oil, flaming arrows, a good ol' pitchfork?

(I know some nancy-boy will respond with knowledge and fine argument!)

I currently own just over 200k sats. I hope that qualifies me as not being a nocoiner. I prefer not to be impaled, burned or mutilated by wo people. Shocked

That's 30% below each earthlings's average (locoiner status).
shape up to at least 300K sats...or not.
 Grin

Oh, I just opened up electrum and discovered 100 K more sats tucked away in a native segwit address interfacing with trezor. so that brings me up to locoiner status. Hmm, maybe I have some more dust tucked away somewhere else.
