1021  Economy / Reputation / Re: Timelord2067 - Repeated trust abuse. Fake accuser. Please consider negging him. on: January 20, 2019, 09:11:54 PM
Why is tigerfree on the DT2 list all of the sudden?

Looks like bones261 and amishmanish have this account listed as trusted.  bones261 also has Timelord2067 listed as trusted.

Uhm tigerfree is excluded on my trust list... I find some of timelord's feedback valuable. However, I don't completely agree with a good portion of it. So I will remove him.
Timelord2067 has excluded by multiple DT1. Since you are DT2 only you will see his feedback. Forum member will unable see his feedback's. Since you are on my list that's why his feedback's showing to me. That's why I have sent PM to you. Remove is better than exclusion.

Yes, I have only just removed Timelord2067. The one that I excluded is tigerfree.
Code:

realr0ach is currently a silver bug (he prefers silver over gold) who thinks cryptocurrency as a whole is a bunch of crap. Lately, he hangs out in the WO thread. I doubt that he will ever give out any merit to anyone. Cheesy You'd have better luck getting a merit out of Proudhon.
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: January 20, 2019, 03:10:47 PM

I was tempted, very tempted to look into mining it tbh. Think I’ll wait until it becomes accessible on exchanges though. If it’s still cheap enough then (under $10 - $20) I can buy a couple of hundred or something & forget about them for a bit.

I just don’t want to be bothered with committing to mine it.

It currently is available in quite a few exchanges. https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/grin/trading_exchanges#panel However, I am not familiar with any of the exchanges and don't fell like opening another exchange account. At the moment, the mining software seems to require you to have at least 7gb of virtual memory be set aside per card for the CPU. So it may be a real PITA for larger GPU rigs.

Hands up who is going with this just because theymos has backed it himself?

I'm in that boat. I wouldn't have bothered with this at all if it wasn't for theymos. However, I have been hearing about this on twitter for quite sometime.
1026  Other / Meta / Re: grin is now accepted for forum payments on: January 20, 2019, 02:31:24 PM
We should probably move discussions about grin itself to the ANN thread in the altcoin discussion.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090427.new#new

The discussion here should be limited to the pros and cons of Bitcointalk taking it as an payment, IMHO.

I really despise coins that launch with only a cli client. It is so 90s. Also, not having an official Windows version is not forgivable. Correct me if I am wrong, didn't Satoshi launch BTC with both a GUI and Windows compatible?
I have found the miner that is compatible with Windows and have mined it a little, starting yesterday. However, the cooling on my desktop is shitty, especially for the CPU. I don't like to see my CPU temps running in the 70s with spikes in the 90s. So I have only been running it for about an hour here and there.
I haven't bothered setting up a node yet. I haven't used the VM in over a year and don't think it is worth it to run a node via Vultr.
(As an aside, I am running Grin Gold Miner, and I think it's funny that it stores my password in plain text.  Cheesy But so does BTC RPC. Oh well.)
1028  Other / Meta / Re: Should trust be moderated? (Poll) on: January 19, 2019, 06:54:29 PM

There are some feedback like these example, so give moderator power to delete trust is necessary.

But it only waste moderator's time time unless the abused feedback is left by DT-1 or DT-2. I doubt people look for un-trusted feedback anyway

I find myself looking in untrusted feedback quite a bit. It's like going to yelp. Yes, there is a lot of junk feedback in there. However, some of it may be quite helpful.

OP you mentioned Offering escrow without a track record.
Do you mean no previous escrow track record or no previous deals/trades at all on Bitcointalk?
Theoretically, if a user wanted to become an escrow here, what would he need to do if he doesn't have a track record?

You'd have to do other activities that would make you deemed trustworthy by someone. Then that person would approach you to act as an escrow for them. Then if you did a good job for them, they would recommend you to other people. After a while, you would have a good track record and have many to vouch for you. At that point, you can offer it yourself. That's my guess, at least. It kinda has to drop in your lap, at first.
1030  Other / Meta / Re: Should trust be moderated? (Poll) on: January 19, 2019, 03:21:03 PM

Ones like this though are probably crossing the line and you should probably PM an admin about those (as they are removed in some instances). I think source links should probably have to link to a bitcointalk thread as well because I've seen a few in the past with ref links and other suspicious dodgy sites put there.

Many source links are offsite, though, to archive sites. If you limit the links to just within Bitcointalk, the scammer could just delete all the incriminating posts.
1031  Other / Meta / Re: Meta posting - summa cum Lauda (sic) on: January 19, 2019, 02:07:34 PM
You are all terrified of something.

Terrified? Not really. Irritated. (at you) Definitely.

irritated because I am pointing out clearly that you are afraid to review observable facts that prove lauda lied and give your opinion.

Sorry you're irritated but you should be ashamed. Simple as that.

Which matter in particular? The one where Lauda was accused of mishandling escrow funds or the misguided attempt to ensnare who she thought was the bitfinex hacker? Meh, whatever.
1032  Economy / Reputation / Re: Misunderstanding, trust on: January 19, 2019, 02:01:08 PM
What evidence can I provide? I did not sell merit, I do not see any sense in them! I am a Russian user, If you Pay attention even my name on the forum was signed with an error, this unpleasant incident makes me very sad! Change email and password was a necessary measure. But now I have encountered even greater difficulties. I do not know what to do, but I am not ready to give up! This is my account and I want to prove it ...

Well, it seems pretty fishy that in a 10 minute period you gave out a total of 55 merits to 6 different posts to 6 different accounts in 5 different threads. What is even more suspicious is all of the posts that you merited were already 2 months old. I can't read the language, though.
1033  Economy / Reputation / Re: LoyceV vs DdmrDdmr (and get your own Merit graph: up to 10 users per graph) on: January 19, 2019, 01:17:08 PM
Meh, this thread makes me feel totally inadequate.  Cry I feel like Santa Clause getting no milk and cookies. Oh well, at least no one is siccing their pitbull on me, yet, when I come down the chimney.
1034  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion about acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Community values. DT on: January 19, 2019, 03:43:07 AM
Your list mentions "lending" to get reputation. Isn't borrowing to obtain reputation looked down on too?
1035  Economy / Reputation / Re: [PSA] Before you start that next thread! on: January 18, 2019, 10:53:13 PM
Maybe we should hire a thread bumping service to keep this thread near the top on the 1st page.  Wink

Where does one find a priest of the Cult of Lauda to confess my sins? I'm engaging with that asshat again.  Roll Eyes
Hello, my kitten. Atom.*

*(Amen)
Forgive me father, (or is it mother) for I have sinned. I couldn't help myself. I merited Jet Cash in his meta thread and the troll basically stated the person who merited him (me) was a scaredy cat. Please forgive me and tell me what my Penance should be. I want to be worthy of partaking in the holy cat nip.

I thought I would bump this thread, as there isn't enough drama on Meta these days. Smiley

Merited by another person who dare not even review facts of proven lies and respond because is too scared.

You know what ass wipe, It's abundantly clear that you don't understand anything about the effect of homophobia and racism. I responded to you by basically doxing myself in the open forum in the line of posts that your are referencing. You think that's chicken shit to reveal that you are gay and a brown person in this forum??!!!??? Why don't you go fuck the right off?

Oh well let's not get paranoid. Why you should think that is something to worry about I have no idea. This is a sensible progressive forum the majority will not treat you any differently. This is the 2019 these qualities are not treated as negative by most civilised people.

Well, It may be a better environment than in the 80's, but apparently you have no clue what the gay experience is like, even in this day. Sorry, I'm not buying it when you put on airs that you are some kind of SJW. By the way, I thinks it was funny as hell for a white guy (I think he's white) to portray a black woman in the most absurd manner possible. If I was a merit source at the time, I probably would have poured out the merits. Things that make me chuckle get merit from me. Sorry that doesn't meet your high standards of what deserves merit.

For reference of a white guy playing a black guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5XEdw1eRc4 (Maybe not as extreme as the Huge Black Woman example, but definitely not what I would consider a pristine portrayal a woman, either. In fact, few of the portrayals of women on that show are flattering to woman. Does that make me a misogynistic pig because I find it amusing? Probably. Oh the fuck well.)
