101  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Do you trust your Bitcoin exchange? on: July 06, 2018, 10:00:57 AM
Trust it but not 100%, maybe 80% as everything always going smoothly all the time, in fact, I have stored 85% of my btc in the local exchange. I consider it's different between exchange and trading platform which the exchange mostly serve only for bitcoin to fiat money and vice versa or listed some famous altcoins.
We always heard: exchanges isn't an ideal place to store your bitcoin for a long time due to the risk of being hacked.
However, many people do the same thing all over the exchanges, but don't trust the trading platform to store coins, just get in and cash out immediately.
102  Economy / Economics / Re: My Advice on Investing in Crypto on: July 04, 2018, 10:57:09 PM
Investing in cryptocurrency is a mechanism for building wealth, but it is not only for the wealthy. This is why our community is growing.  Anyone can get started investing in crypto, and various options (BTC, ALT Coins, ICO’s) make it easy to begin with small amounts of fiat and add to a build a portfolio. What differentiates investing in crypto from gambling is that it takes time!  There is not a get-rich-quick scheme.

Last year the price starts at $1000 and this year starts at $13,000, looking at this chart makes people come to crypto-market and think; "I'm gonna rich in a short time, faster than ever", in fact, the way isn't always going smoothly and investment takes time including bitcoin. Now, the price set at $6K, if you want to invest right now, do your own diligence to learn about crypto-market and be patient waiting for the price to recover which definitely it will be.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARGENTINA TO USE BITCOIN FOR INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER on: July 03, 2018, 09:48:30 AM
Good news and a boost for Bitcoin as Argentina is ready to use Bitcoin for international transfers.

How can you do international transfers if only Argentina is ready to do them?
When you speak about "international" it means at least two countries, which one is the other?

BMV adopt bitcoin payment as an alternative to SWIFT, so International payment means to transfer money anywhere around the globe, I guess.

Besides...
https://cointelegraph.com/news/argentinian-bank-now-using-bitcoin-for-cross-border-transactions
Quote
According to BMV, the new service allows customers to transfer money from account to account in less time than traditional bank transfers. BMV states that the new service will reduce transfer times by up to 24 hours.

So, it's still worse than SEPA  Grin Grin

Seems like they've found a way to overcomplicate things:
Quote
Argentinian Banco Masventas (BMV), has announced a partnership Bitex

So, instead of having the transfers done by a bank, now we have a bank and another financial 3rd party service, just to jack up the prices a bit more.

I have a far better solution, use BTC directly with no intermediaries. !!!!!!

At least a domestic bank in Latin America area has adopted bitcoin even though have to cooperate with a 3rd party as the intermediary, it's still good enough to introduce bitcoin to layman. Moreover, people will believe more confident in the service because bank offers security and guarantee of their funds.
104  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashFlare Contracts on: July 02, 2018, 09:01:00 AM
Apparently HF have an alternate plan for their investors...none of which has been divulged at this stage..... One can only wait and see as the 20th & 21st day rolls around until the existing BTC contract terminates due to non profitability....

Lucky for you then, not so much to lose and take it as a lesson, don't trust a cloud mining in general, I have learned it's more profitable to buy and hold coins (btc, eth, bch) for several months than invest in cloud mining which takes 6 months just to achieve ROI.
Interesting to know what is the alternate plan from HF, but have you check the latest news about bitcoin difficulty?
Seems it has been decreased since a news about mining center in China was hit by floods, maybe it can affect hashflare income somehow, but definitely we need the price to increase.

105  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-01] Rumors: Flood in Sichuan China Destroyed Bitcoin Mining Centers on: July 02, 2018, 08:27:05 AM
If that flooding really destroyed a mining farm, then it would be welcome news for other miners who would easily replace the loss in hashrate. But the sad news is that the miners that have the resources to make up for the loss would be Bitmain and might have already done it. However Halong might have also taken the chance.

Sadly for the miners in there, but people hope the difficulty decrease as a bunch of BTC mines destroyed by a massive flood.
If you read the article carefully, it stated that;
Did it Have an Impact on Bitcoin Hashrate?
The majority of bitcoin’s hashrate originates from mining pools like BTC.com, AntPool, and ViaBTC, which outsource computing power from ASIC miners globally. Hence, while a large mining center in Sichuan may have shut down due to poor weather conditions, it is not sufficient to have any real impact on the hashrate of bitcoin.
It is highly unlikely that the flooded mining centers in Sichuan caused the drop in the hashrate.
.

Bitcoin difficulty has increased by 17.89 % in the last 30 days, if we check on coinwarz and bitcoinwisdom, Current Bitcoin Difficulty is 5,077,499,034,879.
However, after reading another article on bitcoinist stated the difficulty drops because of this disaster, current difficulty according to bitcoin.com; 2018/07/01 - Hash Rate TH/s : 37,103,365

106  Economy / Speculation / Re: Facebook will make its own digital currency on: July 01, 2018, 10:55:24 PM
Facebook plans to make its own 'Digital' currency. Although Facebook forbids cryptocurrency ads or digital currency circulating on its platform, it doesn't mean Facebook's completely anti with bitcoin or the like. Facebook has reportedly been preparing to make its own virtual currency though not yet known when Officially announced ?... What do you think of this behavior?...

Facebook has been abruptly reversed ban on crypto-ads, now you can advertise cryptocurrency on Facebook but not ICOs.
Now, Facebook reversed its ban and will let you advertise crypto on the social giant, but is the company setting the board for its own chess pieces? Although ICOs still get the boot.
https://ameinfo.com/technology/it/facebook-crypto-ad-ban-reversed/
Everything is just a rumor until it proven to be true, so we just waiting for a Facebook official announcement about it.
Although, a new crypto for Facebook isn't a bad thing as many companies have been developing their own coins as means of payment in the platform.

Put the source or you'll get banned. (Plagiarism)

P.S : why not just close or delete  this thread and do the discussion in the thread you quoted from ! I do not see any point behind opening new thread .

107  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashFlare Contracts on: July 01, 2018, 10:24:37 AM
Yeah, Hashflare will terminate so many contracts since they have announced payout is less than maintenance fees.
Everyone who have invested to cloud mining should aware of the risk, especially after some shady act of Hashflare.
That's why I said, there is nothing you can do but let it go, because Hashflare T&C have explains that, unless you have access to visit their main office and manage to ask for refund. maybe it's time for Hashflare to shut down their business.
May I know how much $$ you have invested? Or how much hashrate you have?
108  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashFlare Contracts on: July 01, 2018, 09:57:20 AM
Sadly, there's nothing you can do about it, even if there's an option to add more hashpower, I encourage to don't do that.
It seems like hashflare keeps making excuses to cut customers money as much as possible through their T&C such as 21 days suspension period. It's strange though, as they said: with the latest spike of mining difficulty exceeding 14%, while the price of Bitcoin continues to decline, the payout was lower than the maintenance fee, which resulted in the balance not increasing and remaining the same
but we don't know how much total hashrate and maintenance fee they have to cover, or have they disclose the information about it?
For the record, this is the mining fees for customers:
The maintenance and electricity fees (MEF) is linear and equals 0.0035 USD per every 10 GH/s of SHA-256 and 0.005 USD per every 1 MH/s of Scrypt per day.
109  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The market is so positive (100% HODL) on: June 30, 2018, 01:25:43 PM
very true but i am still worried about altcoins. that market has grown too big and has not yet come out of the bubble. which means there is still a good chance that we continue seeing the dumps go on in the altcoin market and that will be big enough to even affect bitcoin price.

Altcoins are more likely following bitcoin, seems like it's growing together, side by side. If bitcoin price decline, so does altcoin.
Because of people look for a chance to make profits by investing in altcoins, hoping for it getting bigger after bitcoin.
Most coin in the market has fallen more than 50% even more since bitcoin plummet, altcoins tend to rise and fall according to bitcoin price. Don't hope for altcoins dumped to pump bitcoin, but hope for new development and acceptance of bitcoin in various sector, then the price will automatically increase.
110  Economy / Economics / Re: The money started coming back to the cryptocurrency market on: June 30, 2018, 08:07:58 AM
Finally, the market reacts after some good news regarding crypto development, or else bitcoin price has reached the floor and it's time to bounce back. However, too early to celebrate it, if the price can hold its position at $6400 for at least 48 hours without decline again, then we may see bulls run again. Remember, a sign of bulls domination is the break of resistance levels, which is $6200-$6400.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2018-06-21] No one should have that power - Charlie Shrem slams EOS fund freeze on: June 29, 2018, 11:55:37 PM
It should be a basic thing to be known by everyone who wants to invest in EOS, that block producers have the power to freeze your accounts. EOS is not decentralized nor you have immutability to possess this coin.
On the other hand, not everyone feels it's something excessive as the freeze accounts possibly involved in scam act and the EOS block producers are within their rights to protect their investors and community by taking action against those who violate the ‘constitution’.. Moreover, if someone who has one of those freeze accounts didn't do something shady can lodge an application to review their account.
112  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin prices are controlled. Accidentally or intentionally? on: June 28, 2018, 07:54:34 PM
Yes, it's intentionally. We have alleged that market manipulation is rampant by some groups of big investors and/or exchanges itself.
Traders and/or exchanges can place millions of orders without executing it, which can influence prices movement.
It happens due to lack of regulations and limited oversight of manipulative trading, spoofing and wash trading.
In spoofing, a trader submits a spate of orders and then cancels them once prices move in the desired direction. Wash trades involve cheaters trading with themselves to give a false impression of market demand that lures other to dive in too.
113  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ⭐🚀[ANN] SaveBox.io – The Best Savings Account For Bitcoins.⭐🚀 on: June 28, 2018, 06:44:42 AM
Looks interesting, few questions:
- as you said, profits generated by giving a loan to traders through exchanges, which exchanges are included?
- the interest rate is variable, tell me about it? How if someone deposit BTC5 or BTC10 for a week or a month?
- For example, if you have kept the Bitcoin to your account only for 5 hours, you will receive an interest proportionate to the time of permanence of your bitcoins on our platform. guaranteed profits even for 5 hours, is that possible even for small amount such as BTC0.05?
114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will probably reach 4500-5000, following seasonality pattern. on: June 28, 2018, 05:10:51 AM
In the last 50 years,on average the June/september/october are the worst months. And are very bearish.

WHen bitcoin fell down below 6500 i confirmed that we may be following seasonal pattern, which means we could see a pump around july/august. But the lowest all time bitcoin will be around september/october.

So i put a bet on around 4500-5000 for these months.

Bitcoin doesn't follow the seasonal pattern in this year, the chart almost completely different until today as the price keeps declining since February and no sign to rise anytime soon. Bitcoin price affected by many factors but news contribute to influence people, whether there are so many bad news or good news around will trigger buy and sell in the market. If there are some new development and acceptance, the price will increase soon and vice verse, we can predict the market by keep watching the latest news even though it's not 100% accurate. Can't say the price will rise or fall again, just let the market bearish or bullish in the time frame.
115  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-06-27] Blockchain Hype Might Point to Bubble, Steve Wozniak Says on: June 27, 2018, 10:08:20 PM
In February of this year, Wozniak revealed that he had sold all but one Bitcoin, admitting that the hype around its price had disappointed him. He bought the cryptocurrency years ago when it was priced at $700 per BTC.

“All of the sudden it was way down, then way up in the sky. I got scared, and sold everything but one bitcoin,” Wozniak said on Tuesday.

He might did the right thing by sold all and just hold one bitcoin, it's a good thing as he sells at the peak, big profits for him.
On the other hand, he's not the only one who did that, there are many people sold at the peak for sure which contribute to the price to plummet more than 60% due to panic sell like a snowball, getting bigger as time goes on and stop at one point.
Look at the current price, bitcoin struggle to maintain its position above $6K, moreover to reach the ATH.
The hype came by the end of the last year, the price pumped significantly and then suddenly end in February this year.
However, the cycle always repeated, just takes time to achieve it.
116  Economy / Economics / Re: Only a mature and regulated crypto market will attract big investors. on: June 27, 2018, 08:14:15 PM
Considering how much money involved in the crypto market, some governments have issued regulations and laws to supervise the exchanges in their State. Everyone can access exchange reviews and the detail of each exchange such as supported countries, payment methods accepted, fees, customer support, limits, privacy (KYC) and if there any past issues. Treat exchanges as a place to transact, not to store the coins.
Big investors are welcome to invest or buy bitcoin through some licensed exchanges, what does really matter is whether they want to invest in bitcoin or not, referring to the value and usability in short, mid and long-term
117  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy more and HODL!!! on: June 27, 2018, 05:34:23 PM
Less than 6 months left in the year and bitcoin still tanks above $6K, had time fallen to $58** though, probably it's the resistance level.
The dip may not over, and this is just another bear trap. Unless we close above $6200 today a 24 hours candle & $6300 level holds, bulls may try to push further. Also, a sign of bulls domination is the break of resistance levels.
You have the point to buy at the lowest level at this time, buy and hold will always works as long as people believe in the value of bitcoin, just wait for another peak by the end of the year, $10K is still great for us.
118  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Hedging for Bitcoin Miners on: June 26, 2018, 07:09:52 PM
In short, it's such an assurance program to ensure the profits of miners that not affected by price changes which probably goes down in a short time by selling at the peaks to optimize profits and/or using derivatives like options, futures, and other instruments, isn't it?
No offense but, don't you think miners know how to do it by themselves? as they have to sell and sell in bulk at the peaks in order to cover electricity costs. Well, it may works for some miners, interested to the client who has been contacted bloc10 to hedging their mining operation. You guys seem really professionals, may have to open an announcement thread for this service.

120  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Funds Are Safe on: June 24, 2018, 01:58:41 PM
I think free profit, cloud mining, guaranteed earning promising systems or calls are mostly snake oil trading or scams... Also to manage a mutual fund or give some kind of interest requires legal infrastructure. This is not the point of this website. The motto is "if you are having difficulty holding your tokens, lock it and give the key to someone. If you want it too soon you will have to pay the price.
Fail business strategy * this is right one Wink it is just a funny business plan.

Others have said more than enough, it's 'trust' matter. If you just see it as funny business plan, then that's the way it is, just for fun, not even become a real one. Credibility and trustworthy, two things that you don't have here.
Everyone will come to conclusion; better to hold it by my self as long as I want and no fee at all.
Different from your funny business plan:
Your tokens will be locked at least one year in our wallets.
After one year you will get 98% of your tokens.
1      Month   =You will get back 50% of your tokens.
2      Months =You will get back 60% of your tokens.
3-6   Months =You will get back 75% of your tokens.
6-12 Months =You will get back 90% of your tokens.
>12  Months =You will get back 98% of your tokens.

Simply won't works.
