241  Economy / Speculation / Re: 🤖 Future of Trading - AI vs Humans the Prediction Challenge WIN 0.05 BTC 🤖 on: December 16, 2017, 11:14:43 AM
AIΞVE's prediction:

Saturday 16.12.2017:

BTC 16.12.2017 23:59:59 Price: 16870,50 $

Good luck everyone!

Quote this one; AIEVE's prediction by the end of the day is $16870,50
Honestly, seems like I've missed big opportunity to join in this challenge against AI as 5 days left, to the end.
I thought to have a small chance to win this due to the rule:
If you miss a prediction date(s) then your missing prediction(s) will be calculated as the average error of all human predictions for that day.

is it mean, all the average error from 7.12.2017 to 21.12.2017 will be added to my error prediction? Such a big error for me Grin
Anyway, can I participate tomorrow? Or it's closed?
242  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: December 16, 2017, 07:19:49 AM
Warning: There is a copycat website that brought google ads.
I've reported them to https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/ , I think Google only takes action if enough people report the phishing page.
My Comments: "This site advertises on Google. The design is copied from chipmixer.com and they no doubt will steal people's Bitcoins. Please ban their advertising!"

Note it and will do the same thing.
Someone trying so hard to deceive people.
Hopefully, everyone in Chipmixer campaign notices this and report this scam site as well.

I think someone fell for it, I start mixing and get address 1DrKJf95GigR6fLWHLjbCZA3DiPvourewR
and that address has already received bitcoin  Shocked

Yeah, there is 0.00820175 BTC at this address.
Not sure how much people may get trapped and have sent bitcoin to this site, but it's really a pain in the heart to find out you have been deceived.

244  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-15] 9 Bitcoin Experts Share Predictions of Bitcoin Future (Buzzfeed) on: December 16, 2017, 01:30:33 AM
It's a pretty weak list of experts. I've been around for a long time and I only know two of them.

Qualifications like this aren't exactly convincing:
Quote
Investor and in the IT industry for 25 years. Researching and being more and more fascinated by blockchain technology for more than 2 years....

Indeed, it's funny to claim an expert in blockchain technology if you are not among the people who have been investing in bitcoin since 2010, here what Steven Buchko said; No one can predict with more than fifty percent accuracy what the fate of Bitcoin will be in the next five years. Anyone who says that they can is a liar.

He's right, no one can predict it precisely, as no one here can see what happens in the future, especially in the world of cryptocurrency which so volatile. So, forget about the experts said, you may predict what will happen in the future by considering some factors, and the most important is; bitcoin acceptance in every country.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news from USA and Japan. on: December 15, 2017, 11:28:18 PM
Japan is the most friendly country for bitcoin right now as they have legalized bitcoin like instantly without any political conflict between two parties such as in Russia, so it will be a common thing if a business relates to bitcoin offer to pay employee's salaries in bitcoin. Although the US does not legalize bitcoin as means of payment at least the government didn't ban bitcoin and stated it as a commodity which bitcoin users have to pay taxes for capital gains.
However, USA selling seized bitcoin isn't like a big support or interested as it's purely because they want cash instead of digital currency, moreover the price of bitcoin has reached over $17,000.
246  Economy / Economics / Re: How could futures impact bitcoin? on: December 15, 2017, 05:59:11 AM
To understand how futures affect bitcoin price, you have to read basic information about futures contract:
- As defined by the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate (BRR), Bitcoin future will have 5 BTC as contract unit.
- Unlike Bitcoin exchanges, Bitcoin future will have a defined trading window and circuit filters.
- CME Bitcoin future brings the option to short Bitcoin.

https://seekingalpha.com/article/4128569-5-things-aware-cme-bitcoin-futures

In general; bitcoin futures has nothing to do with bitcoin as the contract settled in dollars and there is no any bitcoin involved, contract holders simply bet on bitcoin price.
But, bitcoin futures bring some advantages as many investors may be interested to buy bitcoin to slightly affect the price in order to win their contract or vice versa. On the other hand, bitcoin seems to gain more attention and reliance from big trading group which intrigue other companies to learn about bitcoin.
247  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hitbtc Error 502 on: December 14, 2017, 11:29:41 PM
Actually, it's a good sign, you should never register in this trading platform as there is a crucial problem lately.
Most customers have same problems; deposit delayed for weeks, delayed withdrawal, or coins just disappeared from their wallet.
And there are a lot of angry customers submit accusation to HongKong cybercrime to check HitBTC.
You can read more about it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2551767.msg26178149#msg26178149
248  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-14] McAffee Nods to Monero, Other Anonymous Cryptos on: December 14, 2017, 10:55:08 PM
Most famous altcoins are on rising right now or at least getting pumped, such as eth, dash, ltc, zcash and now xrp, unbelievable.
But, people tend to dump altcoins until the prices reach a certain point, what about the anonymous coin? Maybe McAfee's opinion about those coins is right, even though it will be dumped at higher prices when the time comes for bitcoin to rise and most funds will switch to bitcoin, then these coins will set a new stable price and tanks again, the last time, most of these coins stable at $250-$300. Well, monero seems has the biggest potential to rise, as the price always pretty stable all the time compared to other coins.
249  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Stabilizing At $20K on: December 14, 2017, 05:14:00 PM
$20K is achievable for sure, but to stabilize at this rate maybe takes few weeks or even months due to price volatility and market activity across the global exchange influenced by regulations and development.
How about bitcoin futures affect bitcoin price? It just has a small effect on bitcoin as the contract just using dollars and there is no any bitcoin involved unless contract holders decide to manipulate the market in some ways such as invest Millions of dollars in bitcoin and then dump it after bitcoin reach a higher price.
250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Politics behind Bitcoin development? on: December 14, 2017, 04:14:49 PM
From a purely technical viewpoint the consensus is based on mining hashrate as mentioned in the post above.

its not mining hashrate

for instance imagine you owned a pool with DOUBLE the hashrate of the entire network. but your codebase of your pool node wanted to change a rule..
all that will happen is that your blocks will get rejected by the network because their desired rules are not your rules.
you could mine billions of blocks but only you would retain them and everyone else would reject them. thus  you have made your own altcoin that only you hold

consensus is about the NODES that accept the rules. hash power has nothing to do with the RULES. the hashpower is only about protecting the DATA from people manipulating the data retrospectively. EG for someone to make a block that does not contain certain transactions (attempted refund) from a block in 2012. then that pool needs to also recreate every block after that to get uptodate to todays blockheight. and the rules must match to not get rejected.

in short hashrate does not determine the rules. it just makes changing old data harder

the politics of CORE controlling the rules.. is the thing people are avoiding talking about. because its core that set the rules and push people to download their wallet as oppose to other wallets. thus they control the development and they control the rules. and yes they do and have bribed big names to get their way. (many free all inclusive weekend breaks, jobs, bonuses, freebies and more)

Good explanation, but I do not agree with "bribe theory" as everyone has a right to choose and run any software which support a certain nodes.
I understand Core developers is the politics behind bitcoin development, they always refuse every hard fork that doesn't suitable with their desire, but still, I support Core.
The thing is; current Segwit nodes (1.4 Mb) should be able to fulfill blockchain transactions, right? Or at least mempool will not flooded with too many unconfirmed transactions, but the problem, not all of the exchanges and wallet use Segwit nodes even though it has been activated since few months ago.
251  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is Blockchain.info reliable? on: December 14, 2017, 02:38:13 PM
It's been a long time since I've moved towards new wallet and left blockchain.info for good.
Electrum is way better in my experience, there are some features that do not exist in blockchain.info such as export and sweep private keys, sign/verify message, easy to use/backup and can be integrated into your smartphone and computer, set custom fees and many others.
You can download electrum here: https://electrum.org/#download
Can be installed on Linux, Windows, Android and OSX.
252  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Does the Cryptopia withdraw fee .002 BTC includes BTC transfer fee? on: December 14, 2017, 07:05:51 AM
They have dropped the fee to .001 which is still high but MUCH better than .002.

Not sure if they just changed this today.

Their fee was 0.0008 initially and they increased it later. They don't even pay this fee while broadcasting my transaction on the newtrok and add less fees (approx 100 sats per byte - 0.0004 BTC) which makes my transaction take long to get confirmed. All these exchanges charge huge fee and add the least amount while sending it except mercatox where you can choose the fee and the exact amount is added as the network fee.

They do not provide any overview of withdrawal fees, can't find the FAQ of it such as there is no fix amount and they said;  "withdraw fees depend on the network. For some coins like btc it may necessary include higher than default minimum fee to ensure the transaction is confirmed by the network within a reasonable amount of time"

But, erikalui transaction takes a long time to be confirmed because they applied lower fees compare than what they've charged, even though an exchange always broadcast withdrawal in bundling. Not fair, obviously.
253  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-13]Bitcoin Developer Behind Failed Fork Begins Another Offshoot on: December 13, 2017, 11:59:12 PM
A new version of the bitcoin system has been formed after some developers split the blockchain, the digitized ledger on which the cryptocurrency lives. Called UnitedBitcoin, the offshoot comes a month after an earlier effort failed to gain enough support.

Don't know what they're after, creating another fork, again?
Bitcoin will be the one, there's no other bitcoin could compare with the original coin created by Satoshi Nakamoto.
People won't take it so seriously as some forks before such as bcash and b-gold consider as free coins and will be dumped at a higher price, except for bcash which has big support from Chinese miners and Bitmain.
254  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC Conversion Rate on: December 13, 2017, 10:47:13 PM
Why use Koinex when there are three other popular exchanges with better rates? Both Coinsecure and Zebpay have the best rates, but in terms of KYC verification both Unocoin and Coinsecure is sloppy, will take couple of weeks to get verified and with the recent increase in volume INR deposit orders will take at least 24 hrs to be processed, Zebpay is much faster. I do recommend using Zebpay.

http://www.bitcoinrates.in

These are exchanges in India?
The exchange rate is different to buy and sell bitcoin, which mean people trade directly with the exchanges, not with others?
Trade bitcoin with others in an individual without exchange will be not fair, mostly. But these exchanges need a couple of weeks to verify an account? Looks like a joke, unreliable services. How long it takes for Zebpay to verify a new account?
255  Economy / Services / Re: Web developers team on: December 13, 2017, 01:26:25 PM
You can create a thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0 to offer web services,
Nevertheless, I recommend adding some images of your web design or any of your works in the past as sample.
So, people can see some proofs and intrigue to hire your team. Just make sure to update the thread periodically, like once every two days.
256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fees on: December 12, 2017, 11:58:20 PM
-Major services actually start using SegWit
-The hype dies down and people don't need to desperately send for their trading
-Another scaling solution is implemented

or the protocol starts measuring in 100byte/sat instead of 1byte/sat
lame brain developers think the protocol cant go below 1byte/sat without having to add millisat units if measure. but they are wrong. it can be done, if they really thought about it.

also a new fee priority formulae could be added that actually works.

A good idea of 100byte/sat, but I'm not sure whether it can be implemented, basically change the nodes, right?
Bitcoin transactions always increases along with the increase in bitcoin price.
I believe exchanges have a big role in the matter of big volume transactions, but most of them still do not implement Segwit.
This fee problem should be solved or at least reduce the fee by adopting segwit addresses.
257  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Will Change Everything on: December 12, 2017, 04:47:58 PM
We are entering in the new type of economy where price predictions are not possible any more because productivity and prosperity of humanity will rise to the new golden age level. Bitcoin will go to 1 million dollars in 2018 and is being used by central banks as a global stardard ledger - dollar will fade slowly those who buy now will become the new wealthy elite.

1 Million dollars in 2018? 100% impossible as the highest maybe around $40k-$100k, I doubt bitcoin can rise more than $100K in 2018 as most people will dump bitcoin because they just invest to extract profit. Bitcoin may reach $1 Million dollars in 2020 according to McAfee's prediction, it's too far or excessive but not impossible, maybe 10% chance.
Banks will not use bitcoin and in fact, banks oppose bitcoin in many cases. Therefore, dollars and other currencies will not fade anytime soon.
258  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-12] Japanese Internet Giant GMO Offers to Pay 4700+ Employees in Bitcoi on: December 12, 2017, 01:31:31 PM
Because Japan as the first and only country which legalized bitcoin as legal payment, no wonder a big company such as GMO introduced a new payroll system using bitcoin. But, the question is it a must for every employee? Or their employees can choose not to accept it and will stick to yuan. However, salary in bitcoin is a big deal as the price can rise and fall within minutes and it may not work for some business or people who always want to convert bitcoin asap, especially at current mempool which takes hours to confirm a transaction. Fortunately, in Japan, people can easily spend bitcoin almost in every sector of life, even to pay electricity, so it won't be a problem, I guess.
259  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HitBTC is suspected of defrauding users' assets on: December 12, 2017, 05:04:40 AM
HitBTC has got into red-line, no more transactions with them and hopefully, people be aware of this problem soon.
The problem just getting bigger as too many accusations and legit proofs, delayed deposit or delayed withdrawal.
Some people may get lucky to withdraw all of their assets out of this exchange, but not everyone will be able to do the same thing.
I would like to read some news regarding law enforcement in HongKong to solve this cyber crime acts.
260  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-11] Lightning Network Inches Closer to Being Deployed on the Bitcoin on: December 12, 2017, 12:17:46 AM
Yes, it's strange since Segwit has been activated for more than 3 months and most bitcoin service providers do not adopt it yet.
Blockchain will not have all those unconfirmed transactions if every exchange applied Segwit, as the biggest transactions must come from exchanges environment, whether people want to deposit bitcoin to exchanges or withdraw it out of exchanges.
Then, we may have Lightning network deployed on blockchain mainnet as the first testnet was successful.
Considering all the political interest inside the community, I'm not sure when it will be implemented on the chain, maybe several months.
