361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY][ICO][ROCK] ⛏Ice Rock Mining ⛏ [HUGE PAYOUTS] ⛏ on: November 24, 2017, 11:31:45 AM
In my opinion;
Translators get decent amount of ROCK tokens if you wait until February 2018 > it become $400
If you wait until May 2018 > it become $600, big payouts just for translate Ann thread, right?
It's fair distribution for translators, but not for others who have been promised will get more than just 11-19 tokens.
But, what can we do about it since we have been promised 2% of all tokens sold?

Translators will not get 200 tokens, they will get get 200/3.6 = 55 tokens..

Yeah, I just found out about that. Pretty sad about it,
362  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Delivery times Antminer S9 on: November 24, 2017, 08:02:03 AM
Hi
do someone of you know how long it takes at the moment to receive an Antminer S9 from Bitmain?
Most of the times its out of stock. But if not i am wondering how long it would take until its received.

Thanks

Many orders seem delayed than the estimated delivery date of vitamin due to some reasons.
If you want to order an antminer S9, you can order now but bitmain only accept BCH payment for this batch will be shipped on January 21-31st 2018. How long it takes? It depends on your country, but normally it takes 10-21 days.

I haven’t received any official reply from IceRock Mining as to why the rewards were lowered by a factor of 3.5.

Sorry but if this situation remains as is, I will open a scam accusation.

How can a scam accusation help?

It can help by showing that we are not willing to accept whatever the devs decide for us. We should be paid for our work.

I accepted that Atriz made a mistake in the initial calculations. But after that, the bounties were lowered FURTHER by 3.6. This is like playing with us.

And I’m not willing to accept that. They initially said that maybe 10% can be given as bounty, to compensate for their miscalculations. But they didn’t even do that.

Why? Whose decision was that?

They can easily give a higher % of tokens, yet they chose to ignore us and pay us nothing.

I feel you man,
But, as far as I understand about this problem, it's miscommunication, misunderstand, and miscalculation from aTriz and IRM devs. Since IRM devs have stated only 2% of all coins sold that will be distributed among bounty participants.
Number of tokens sold 467 150 ROCKs — 100%
The team and advisers receive 46 715 ROCKs — 10%
Bounty was 9343 ROCKs — 2%

9343 tokens for all the bounty participants, that's why we can't ask more than that, but I understand if we feel cheated since this thread promised [Huge Payouts] and most participants just get 11-19 tokens, it's like $13-$22, and
For translators, it's 200 ROCKs which equal to $240 for current price ($1.2 per rock token).

But honestly, I don't know how aTriz calculate token distribution, people who estimated will get 50 ROCKs only get 19 ROCKs but for people who may get 40 ROCKs, only get 11 ROCKs.
365  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What about the different types of wallets? on: November 24, 2017, 02:06:31 AM
This looks more like an ad for their upcoming ICO than anything else. The concept isn't new and on a personal level, I prefer having a secure app specifically for safely storing my coins than one that has potential vulnerabilities.
Whoever is designing the graphics, they should try being a little more realistic. Jessica Alba isn't the most common of names and sending 500 ETH over messenger is also a little exaggerated  Grin
lol  Grin I was thinking the same thing.
I've seen a few threads about echat and noticed the pattern a lot closer to shameless ads plug
I think this creates first bad impression on how the service choose to spread the news
trying to get more exposure by using this method would lead to people gets more irritated than informed

There's a lot of newbie accounts being created just for this advertisement scheme. Asking something specific and pretending they don't know about it. Though the OP is not the worst I've seen. Check this guy out.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1144625
I've seen through his posts months ago, stumbled upon him again and saw that he's still spamming altcoin threads with his ico.

It can be the case why Op ask, or just want to ask our opinion to differentiate crypto-wallet out there.
Although this echat is something new which introduced through an ICO which is going on right now https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2255337.0
Echat is;
a decentralized messenger based on the blockchain technology, functions that include:

- voice and video calls, chats and channels;
- a built-in multi-currency wallet with the ability to make payments from the messenger;
- transfers of both cryptocurrencies and fiat money directly in the messages;
- end-to-end encryption, private key storage, and advanced data protection system;
- a photo and video content feed with the ability to earn money on likes!

Well, I prefer to use blockchain or electron wallet for now instead of trust my crypto into such new wallet.
366  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-23]Cryptocurrencies “Too Far Off” to Kill Physical Cash: Bank of Japan on: November 23, 2017, 11:59:21 PM
the conventional banking industry under any immediate threat from digital
I don't think bitcoin or other coins is a threat to conventional banking, even for cash, as not everyone agrees not to use cash anymore.
There are some advantages of using cash such as instant and anonymous transactions between two parties.
We have been using cash and digital form of cash through bank or third party systems, there is no problem at all of you are using both. But, the point is; bitcoin can't replace bank system or kill physical cash due to some usability which people really need for now. Even if you want to buy or sell bitcoin, you have to use a bank account to do so.
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin anonymity broken. You have to pay tax on: November 23, 2017, 11:34:27 PM
Bitcoin transactions always recorded in blockchain and everyone can see it, that's why bitcoin isn't fully anonymous but pseudonymous. However, bitcoin users can still be anonymous as long as you are not dealing with exchanges which require id verification. Government have to regulate cryptocurrencies as Million of dollars involved in this environment, and every country has a different perspective about crypto regulations. If you're a bitcoiners who lives in the US, then the IRS has required you to pay taxes for capital gains, but if you live in Japan, no need to pay taxes for capital gains.
368  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Curse of open source on: November 23, 2017, 12:19:59 PM
I think as a developer it must suck, if your code is merely "copy & pasted" by a inferior developer and then used for their personal gain. Like we are seeing being done with Bitcoin now. Most of these forks are just a copy & paste job and it is not backed by good developers.

The fact that it is then pumped to replace Bitcoin, is actually a slap in the face to the developers who contributed the most to the original Bitcoin. Satoshi's code being raped and pillaged by people who says that they are protecting it. ^joke^

Indeed, everyone who be able to copy & paste all the codes can't really reach anything if they want to do something terrible like stealing the funds as there's one-two liners of codes which prevent it happen, as Op mentioned before.
If you want to develop your own wallet, go ahead.
If you want to develop your own coin, go ahead.
But, people will decide whether it's worth or not.

To summarize, what I wanted to ask is the following:
IS THERE A WAY TO KEEP SUCH IMPORTANT SOFTWARE OPEN SOURCE (to be able to vet it) WHILE STILL PROVIDING MEANINGFUL FINANCIAL INCENTIVE TO DEVELOPERS?

The software will still open source, and developers who contribute simply because they attracted to do so, not with an intention to gain incentive. Because the developers is a user or a holder as well, they want to hedging and developing something that really worth, such as bitcoin.

But, if want to create your own coin or wallet and have to provide an open source software, codes, nodes (whatever it is)
Make sure you eliminate one-two liners of the codes, to prevent any negative acts by others.
Talking about incentive, there's no incentive. Something worth because people decide it's valuable.
369  Economy / Speculation / Re: One of Wall Street's biggest bears just doubled his bitcoin forecast to $11,500 on: November 23, 2017, 08:43:58 AM
The point in this article is; He now expects the scorching-hot cryptocurrency to hit $11,500 by mid-2018, up from his previous estimate of $6,000 released in August.
Tom Lee can't predict it well, so he changed his prediction since bitcoin has reached $6000 last month.
But crypto enthusiast expecting more than $11,5K by mid-2018, as bitcoin could rise over $1000 within 1-2 months recently.
Without any obstacle and the demand keep growing, acceptance and adoption in some countries, bitcoin may reach $15,000 or at least$14,000 by mid-2018. But, who knows? Only time will tell the truth.
370  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitmixor ≠ bitmixer on: November 23, 2017, 07:34:51 AM
I can't imagine how someone could get into such scam site.
You probably never do a research before sent your bitcoin in the first place, or
You didn't check it properly, it is an official site or just a copy cat.
Since bitmixer have shutdown their business few months ago, everyone will know about it, simply by googling.
If you want to mix bitcoin, just visit https://chipmixer.com/ as this is the best mixing site so far which offers some features that you won't find in other mixing services. Visit Ann thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1935098.0
371  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-21] Here's What Russia Is Seeking To Regulate By February 1, 2018. on: November 23, 2017, 07:04:55 AM
Cryptocurrency in Russia mainly supported by Vladimir Putin and their Finance Ministry seems following him to adopt cryptocurrency, especially mining industry in Russia. This article mentioned some points that they planned to regulate;
cryptocurrency bill will contain, highlighting taxation and registration of Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrency miners, trading restrictions and regulations surrounding initial coin offerings (ICOs).
licensing for the mining of cryptocurrency but the mining will be taxed.

They will allow mining activity but restrict trading, how could it be done? By prohibit trading on exchanges in Russia? But people still can trade cryptocurrency on other global exchanges. Unless every exchanges require id verification in order to deposit or withdraw crypto.
372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Fork in December on: November 23, 2017, 05:21:16 AM
What's fork? Seems like a word "bitcoin hard fork" misleading somewhere.
I consider it is a "bitcoin hard fork" if it's really implemented to bitcoin nodes, run in the same chain, not creating a new coin which is run on different chain and refers to an altcoin. Bitcoin gold, bitcoin silver is just altcoins, nothing more than that. Even for Bcash, I don't think it's bitcoin split into 2 different coins, but the  hashrate could be separated to support bitcoin or bcash.
373  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: My Top 6 Projects in Summary on: November 23, 2017, 04:50:08 AM
The idea seems interesting, but which one of these ideas that you have execute?
At least a real work, there's something to see instead of just several lines of sentence.
How about your team? You can't do it just by yourself obviously.
How about the funds, initial capital? You really need it to make it work,  but not through an ICO.
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY][ICO][ROCK] ⛏Ice Rock Mining ⛏ [HUGE PAYOUTS] ⛏ on: November 21, 2017, 12:03:49 AM
9000 tokens for 916 people? Yes, it's unfair if some people get 600 tokens while most of participants only get less than 5 tokens?
To be fair, you should change bounty's rate for translation as well aTriz.
30 tokens is less than I expected and now I may just get 3 tokens, but IRM devs have clearly mentioned 2% from sold tokens.
It's kinda tricky since we have been promised to get more than just 5 tokens.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you a True Believer? on: November 20, 2017, 02:13:47 AM
Rather, I would love to see people who really believe in Bitcoins, actually going out there and using the coins to purchase products, send/receive coins and let the coins circulate around. I would love to see that day. When the prices are not so volatile, and the coins are being used as they were intended. However, not being volatile also means the prices would rise sharply like it has been this year, which also means you wont be a millionaire holding onto them coins.

Bitcoin acceptance in every country is different, not all of us could spend bitcoin directly to the merchants, or just walking into the stores, purchase some goods and pay it using bitcoin, you should realize this problem. I prefer to hold bitcoin until the time has come, when there are a lot of merchants accept bitcoin payment in my country, which only works if government legalized bitcoin as legal payment method such as in Japan, otherwise, businessman or store owners will be hesitant to accept bitcoin transactions.
When the price isn't so volatile? Maybe in 50 years later, when bitcoin reach scale transactions, people wouldn't easily manipulate the market.
376  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My Own Private Portfolio on: November 18, 2017, 02:21:37 PM
Just some common coins to hold, not a real portfolio obviously.
Traders have to learn how the market react due to recent news or some events in the future.
Bitcoin constantly increasing over time, eth seems stagnant at this point, fluctuate a bit.
But dash really growing bigger now, compare to eth, suddenly increase from $287 to $460.
Invest in litecoin and dash seems more profitable than ethereum.
377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin UP BitCoinCash DOWN on: November 18, 2017, 01:40:53 PM
Bitcoin cash be able to rise again, set $1000 as the new level and be able to stand on $1300 right now, pretty impressive.
After a big pump, everyone thought BCH will get dumped hardly, but the fact it's survive Cheesy
At least we have 2 big coins on this market, people are free to choose the best coin to transact across the globe or just use it for trading. Maybe 8 MB blocksize really offers something, but bitcoin still be able to afford so many transactions with segwit nodes.
378  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tomorrow is my last day on this Earth on: November 18, 2017, 12:29:54 PM
I've decided not to say anything about your plan to suicide.
But, I'm glad you didn't make it, still alive and keep your spirit to fight for your life.
I assume gambling isn't a good way to get instant money, if you decide to do so, there are some legit gambling sites which better than 1xbit always has same reasons to cancel customers winnings, as your case isn't the first one. Fortunately you still get your initial capital 14 eth. About your debts, hopefully people will intrigue to donate if you provide more information about the reason why you got into this problem in the first place.
379  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin reaches 8000 USD on: November 18, 2017, 11:22:03 AM
That's crazy. Now $10 000 by the end of the year looks very realistic. When people were predicting such price, I honestly didn't believed. From $1000 to $8000 in only 11 months. And by the end of the year we may hit annual price growth by 10 times! It's f**king unbeliavable! Well, but year hasn't ended yet, many crazy things still could happen.

Too early to say $10,000 even though it's possible.
Bitcoin reach $7000 is a remarkable thing, the best price I've predicted last month and didn't expect bitcoin could surpass $7k.
But, bitcoin isn't predictable due to some factors driving the price, suddenly increase and vice versa.
If bitcoin constantly increasing without any negative issues and some minor corrections, $8000 still satisfying for me.
380  Economy / Economics / Re: $800,000 long-term investment strategy on: November 18, 2017, 09:35:48 AM
If you have $800,000 and don't really need it for 1-10 years, don't hesitate to invest in cryptocurrencies.
But, there will always a risk to lose all of it, that's why people always recommend not to invest everything.
Consider the risks to invest a big amount in 1 year, 5 years and 10 years that must be different, divide your funds into several creliable coins is a good strategy, and maybe you will be a millionaire within 1-5 years. Bitcoin will always be the number one of cryptocurrency, invest 50% isn't a bad idea at all. The biggest obstacle that we should aware is political or government regulations, as long as biggest (players) countries in crypto-world such as Japan, US, South Korean, Europe, China and Russia do not ban bitcoin, no need to worry.
