501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DId anyone get investigated when they cashed out a lot of bitcoin? on: October 03, 2017, 11:58:38 PM
I mean i moved into my bank 10k dollars in fiat the other day and had calls and letters from my bank asking me where the money came from.etc.....and that was fiat.

Saw a similar story from someone I know from another crypto-related forum; cashed out roughly 20K euros and subsequently got an invitation from his bank for a personal conversation. Apparently banks tend to get a bit edgy when discovering significants sums of money from an unknown origin. This specific case was in The Netherlands btw.

I remember that thread, cashed out 20K Euro in one shot is a bad decision, there's financial regulations about money transfer through banks in order to prevent money laundering or something like illegal transactions. Well, it will be different in some countries as govs have their own regulations, yes, you will get investigated, but authority or law enforcement will not arrest or torture you only because your huge transaction as long as you can explain about the source and fill all the documents about it.
502  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-02] ICO ban in South Korea has virtually no effect on Bitcoin on: October 03, 2017, 11:36:29 PM
Evidently, in my opinion, the whole cryptocurrency market has already learned enough lessons last month when the value of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies made historical dive due to news coming from China on the ban of the ICO and eventually the ban on Bitcoin exchanges.

Indeed, people should be fooled if fall into the same mistake twice only because FUD news, we know South Korea is bitcoin friendly country with huge cryptocurrency trading volume, and the news were clear stated about ban ICO not bitcoin.

Something intrigue from this article;
Cryptocurrency is supposed to be government-proof, and while that’s entirely theoretical, current evidence still seems to support that promise.

I am not sure about government-proof, Most countries doesn't have fix regulations about cryptocurrency, but people freely to use and trade it, which is good, as long as the exchanges comply with applicable financial regulations. But, it doesn't mean government should not interfere, especially when bitcoin trading volume getting bigger in their country.
503  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin gaining more strenght on: October 02, 2017, 11:55:29 PM
What is strength for bitcoin?
It just gain more fiat currencies that has been invested into bitcoin.
The real strength of bitcoin is people who believe in bitcoin, didn't intrigue to panic sell when some bad news occurs.
If there are a lot of people invest in bitcoin and expect profits by sell it later, it is not a strength for bitcoin development, the cycle will recur when the storm comes.
504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if another altcoin surpasses BTC in value? on: October 02, 2017, 11:27:24 PM
What will you do if some altcoin (XMR or ETH for example surpasses the value of BTC, either in market cap or by the price of a token each? Will you sell your BTC to buy the more "valuable" coin, or continue using and holding BTC? Also, what do you think are the chances that it could happen? I would like to hear your thoughts and opinions.

The most important is the price obviously, even the market cap mean nothing in crypto world due to some reasons.
How if we discuss about this when an altcoin could reach at least $1000? There are few coins that ever reach that point such as bitcoin cash, byteball (almost) and Monkey (MNY), but none of them could stand at the point for a long time. Which mean, there's no any coin that could surpass bitcoin value.
505  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to start to trade bitcoin? on: October 02, 2017, 03:13:05 PM
every beginner must be afraid of loss in trading bitcoin.
do you have any suggestions or feedback on how to successfully trade bitcoin?

Be ready to lose your funds.
Trading isn't an easy way to doubled your money.
Normally, buy bitcoin and hold it for certain time, 2-3 months will be profitable.
But, there are some events that must be considered which has an effect to bitcoin price, such as crypto regulations in China.
If you planned to trade bitcoin, buy and sell it everyday, it will be hard to get profits, as you need bigger capital to start, and be ready to loss. What you have to do is; constantly check the news to get more information about bitcoin development which will affect the price.
506  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-01] Debunked: Rumor that Amazon Will Accept Bitcoin “Fake News” on: October 01, 2017, 11:59:15 PM
There are a lot of verified payment method to purchase goods from Amazon, and they are only accept some legit payments method which bitcoin can't fulfill right now due to volatility. Thousands transactions during the day and bitcoin could rise and fall within minutes, a bad option for their management, unless third party willing to be the middle man to convert all those bitcoin instantly, just like BitPay did with several companies.
507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: An ICO for body flying. Does it sound inteeresting to you? on: October 01, 2017, 10:04:47 PM
Looks interesting, do you have ANN thread on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0 ??
People need to see the road map, developers team and how this project will be going in the future, what's the benefits for investors and so on. Then, if you want this ICO success, hire a manager to start a signature campaign, bounty campaign and social media campaign.
As the site mentioned 15 partners of the company but only revealed 2 people as the founder. I guess, you should mention all of them in the announcement thread.
508  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Coinclarity.com | Community-powered crypto directory on: October 01, 2017, 07:08:03 AM
A good help to check different information without going through the hassle on the process.
A good idea to mapping the crypto world, even gambling casinos Grin, beside coins, exchanges, wallet, ICO, and crypto debit cards, what else you guys want to add into your site? Maybe the best coin mixer, just like chipmixer.
509  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's clear now China have higher amount bitcoin on: September 30, 2017, 11:42:06 PM
In last week bitcoin price because of Chines police regarding  BTC and made affect for rate so here China have higher rate  it's rights or not

LoL Grin, the title mentioned "it's clear now" then you ask they have higher rate or not?
They have big portion of bitcoin for sure, their trading volume btc-cny always be the highest value, at least mostly.
Since, Chinese people out of business, the biggest trade currency switch to Japan yen.
China hold maybe quarter of total bitcoin in circulation, I guess, because they have the biggest mining pools, mining farms and most mining hardware such as antminer s9 produced by Chinese people.
510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin recovery on: September 30, 2017, 03:33:01 PM
This problem is clear, no way to recover it due to Bittrex policy.
Yes, you can consider as untrustworthy or not responsible, do not care about their customers, simply because they deal with thousands transactions from thousands of people. It can't be easy to solve all the problems, but stil, you deserve what belongs to you.
Explanation by Andrew Chow:
As of what happens if someone send BTC from a BTC wallet to BCC wallet address, the transactions go through.

But you can only see that transaction in the Bitcoin Blockchain rather than Bitcoin cash blockchain.

I will simplify with an example.

Say there is an address named "abc" in BTC and another address named "def" in BCC.

abc has 1 BTC (Bitcoin Network)

def has 0 BCC (Bitcoin Cash Network)

If a person by mistake (or for fun) sends 1 BTC from abc to def. Then the balance changes as follows:

abc has 0 BTC (Bitcoin Network)

def has 1 BTC (Bitcoin Network) [Assuming there was no transaction fees]

def has 0 BCC (Bitcoin Cash Network)

So, if the owner of def in BCC has the private key of that address, he can access the BTC in def as well.

But if he unfortunately does not hold the private key of that BCC address (like it can be of an exchange where you don't have access to the private key), then the BTC cannot be accessed by the owner of the BCC address.

Hope this answers your query well.

511  Economy / Economics / Re: Is an economy without physical money safe for the poorest? on: September 30, 2017, 02:49:27 PM
Imagine the situation in which we don't have any physical money and every currency is digitalized. The US dollar is now a token, the Japanese Yen is only in the network and the British pound is a fast-moving digital coin. What are the consequences of such an economy for the poorest of the population? Do you think that a few people can influence the digital wealth of people and wouldn't hackers be the best people to have as friends?

Indeed, I must be friends with hackers at that time,  Grin
I don't see it coming, paper money will last for another century I guess, but mostly payment will be made through digital or virtual currency issued by central banks, or in the time when bitcoin acceptance in global market increase and become one of the major payment method, we may rarely use paper money. But, doesn't mean hackers will be easily manipulate fiat currency due to every transaction will be recorded and can be traced.
There's no equality for the poorest, that's why we should help each other, give some of your wealth to them. As I said before, paper money will be here for the next century, or else, if everything will be digitalize, everyone should be able to use it even though for the poor.
512  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day Trading on: September 30, 2017, 02:09:19 PM
I've been thinking for a bit about day trading Bitcoin, and am curious, what is a good amount to start with? Would it be possible to start with maybe $100-200 and work my way up?

Sorry if i'm posting in the wrong section, pretty new to forums here.

There is no loss in trading bitcoin in my opinion, as long as you can wait for weeks until bitcoin price recover.
I don't think bitcoin is a good option to do daily trading as the price just fluctuate a bit, within $100-$200 and sometimes less than that.
If you invest $100-$200 into bitcoin and the price just rise $50, you may earn a little bit and vice versa if the price decline.
Try to calculate it, and you may manage to get max $20 daily, depend on bitcoin price fluctuations.
513  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-30] Why Bitcoin and Ethereum will soon be everywhere (for reals) on: September 30, 2017, 01:38:03 PM
The first business that create customers apps should dare to take the risk of volatile cryptocurrency.
Those business owners have to cooperate with third party platform to exchange cryptocurrency instantly into fiat currency.
I won't say it will be everywhere soon, but maybe another 3 years to get there, if many countries regulate bitcoin and ethereum as legal payment.
514  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain India removed? on: September 30, 2017, 12:40:12 PM
Yes, it's happened many times if the shipment out of the country as there's nothing you can do but contact their customer service.
Fortunately, you haven't purchase the S9 hardware, it's better than if you get shipment trouble in the future.
As China still crack down exchanges and cryptocurrency business may affected, including Bitmain mining pools, they may temporarily stop to produce, or you should wait next batch produced. After check Bitmain website, there's an announcement; Bitmain's Offices will be closed Oct. 1-8 in observance of Chinese National Day. Processing of repair, shipments and ticket responses will be delayed during that period.
515  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btcc and ViaBtC closed. on: September 30, 2017, 11:13:33 AM
Yep, and right now price is at $4270. So it does seem weird o me that price is rising, even though two of the bigger exchanges on the cryptocurrency scene have been shut down by the Chinese government and potentially more to come.

This seems to me like very bullish market acitvity.

People are dying to get a piece in bitcoin, and demand is soaring. Markets have also matured since they now know that closure of exchanges in one country doesn't really affect anything.

$4315 right now, bitcoin slowly recovering to $5000 on October I guess, even though Viabtc and BTCC closed but Chinese people still have OKCoin and Huobi to trade cryptocurrency, even bitcoin price reach $4345 on OKCoin right now.
Let China government crack down exchanges and check all they want about it, give them few months just like in the early of this year, and then they may come back with some licensed exchanges in the next year.
516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I did it! Traveling with Bitcoin and $100 only on: September 30, 2017, 09:15:05 AM
My journey started on Sep 21, from Boston to NYC, flight to Egypt then Turkey, back to Boston! Carrying $100 just in case and 3 bitcoins in my wallet!

Fuck If I will ever carry credit card, or cash any more:

1- I used Localbitcoins for cash! Search for best local currency rate!
2- How much I save from credit card fees and Fiat exchanges: $305.
3- Is it save to deal with Localbitcoins in person overseas? Yes, so amazing nice guys, you are making friends Smiley

You should try it! & $100 stayed with me! and I spent less than 1.9 btc in both countries!!!

Save $305 from credit card fees and Fiat exchanges is fantastic.
Thanks for share your experience, will encourage more people to use bitcoin even though it's always fluctuate.
But, as long as there's no bad news which lead to another crash, price fall down over $1000, it will be fine.
Well, if you can share some photos about your journey will be great.
517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Cryptopay on: September 30, 2017, 07:45:41 AM
Really take my attention, it's a big company, right? And they trying to collect more money, as they said; taking the business to the next level requires more capital to scale our impact. ICO is a cost effective mechanism for raising funds and provides an opportunity to engage with the community and build products in consultation with token holders and experts.
in order to advertise their services imo. One of project that will be successful I guess, 62,73 ETH raised so far.
518  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: a new service is arising on: September 30, 2017, 05:54:36 AM
Hi bro,

Many thanks for your advice. Less is more. The simplicity is beautiful. Btc4url has not been done in 5 minutes, we are trying to get not-BTC guys on BTC. This is the deal. Any other comment or suggestion is more than welcome.

It's a good idea to well some goods through a site, but people have to know that this site is legit and attractive.
I would like to see more goods to buy as I have nothing to sell, and vice versa for other people, do you get it?
Please make it more interesting and informative, just like E-commerce out there, without any further details, people will consider it's not a serious thing without any effect to advertise something that they want to sell.
519  Economy / Economics / Re: Don't trust anyone who tells you how much Bitcoin is worth on: September 30, 2017, 05:31:02 AM
It always become a good thing to speculate about bitcoin will rise in the future and vice versa.
If more people join in bitcoin environment in order to trade bitcoin for profit, it may cause volatility in the market.
If people really believe in bitcoin to store the value and use it as medium of exchange, the price will constantly increasing.
Indeed, bitcoin isn't all of those but consider it as an alternative currency which still on development to gain more value and stability.
We can't say bitcoin price will reach certain price tomorrow or next week, moreover for a month or years, but we just speculate based on our predictions due to current market situation, it may not precise but at least almost true.
520  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-29] IMF chief tells central bankers: Ignore Bitcoin at your peril on: September 30, 2017, 03:31:08 AM
She said to ignore, beware or aware of bitcoin?
As she said; virtual currencies “might just give existing currencies and monetary policy a run for their money
Honestly, I don't trust IMF or any other central banks, all they want to give you debts and a country will be suffer under the interest without enough power to get out. They will try to ban bitcoin in some countries, maybe, or just let it grow until the time to cut it off, when bitcoin reach certain price.
