101  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is merit all about? on: April 26, 2024, 07:52:42 AM
I'd be grateful also if I get some merits.

Don't ask for it, go out there and earn it. It's not that difficult once you learn everything and know when, how, and what to write about a topic you are reading in any section of the forum. Don't have the misconception that you won't get enough attention because you are new in the forum, a lot of people think this way but there is no reality in that.

If I'm reading a post of yours that I like, your writing style, your points, everything is done very well, I wouldn't mind meriting that post regardless of your rank because it doesn't matter. So all you need to do is learn and improve and you will make it with time. Don't rush it because it's not a race.

Improve your knowledge, make posts only when you need to, and make sure you are making sense all the time.
102  Other / Meta / Re: Sig campaign doesn't pay in bitcoin.... on: April 25, 2024, 05:47:53 PM
Yea I've looked everywhere and cannot find any link to a rule. LoyceV posted something close but not anything saying you cannot post a campaign paying in altcoin. Dkbit also mentioned some campaigns have had split payments which is true.

Based on the following guidelines as mentioned by LoyceV as well:

Services (child board of Goods) - Services provided/demanded on-forum for Bitcoin. If you are providing/demanding services on another site (e.g. have a hosting site), it doesn't belong here.

Services provided or demanded on-forum for Bitcoin are supposed to be posted in the Services section. Now, if we are referring to the Stake.com Signature Campaign, is it demanding an on-forum service? Yes, it is, because it requires the participants to make posts in the forum to get paid, but is the service demanded for Bitcoin? No, since it will be paid in USDT.

Now let's have a look at a couple more section guidelines from the Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ:

Marketplace (Altcoins) -  On-forum sale of goods and services either altcoin related or sold for altcoins.

Bounties (Altcoins) (child board of Marketplace (Altcoins)) -  "Altcoin bounties and ad campaigns". Bounties, advertisement campaigns, announcement of external giveaways (that do NOT require posting on Bitcointalk) and other similar threads belong here. Discussions about such campaigns / services do not belong here.

Reading both of these guidelines, it seems like the campaign we are discussing here can belong to any of these two sections because it is an altcoin-related service which is what Marketplace (Altcoins) is for, and it is an Altcoin Ad campaign since it is paying in USDT and such are supposed to be posted in Bounties (Altcoins) section.

Bounties (Altcoins) section would be more suitable for it though.
103  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is there any easy way? Where to earn $3 dollars per day? or micro earnings? on: April 25, 2024, 01:09:49 PM
Are bounty campaigns in the alternate cryptocurrencies board still a thing? A few years ago almost anyone was allowed to join twitter or telegram campaigns and get micro earnings by doing almost nothing.

I didn't check recently, but I believe most of them accept participants who are at Member rank or higher, and I'm not sure about how much they pay. But, as said by @examplens, you can't say it's nothing if you are asked to complete certain tasks manually and provide reports for them as well each day.

Yes, these payments were in alts which sometimes never became liquid, but if you joined let's say 10 campaigns and 3-4 alts where successful you already got more than $3 USD in exchange, with little to no effort.

But if someone is joining 10 campaigns, doing tasks for a month or so, or even more time in some cases, and then getting $3 or something even for each campaign, it doesn't fall under the category of earning $3 per day.
104  Economy / Economics / Re: Starting a business without capital. on: April 25, 2024, 12:43:40 PM
Is very possible starting up a business without capital all you need is your ability of pursuing success.
Affiliate marketing is a business you can venture into without capital and still make good money from it, even more than some businesses started with capital.
Affiliate marketing is the process by which a person earns a commission for marketing another person's products.
All you need to start this business is good communication skill in other to sell the product of the other person and get a commission for doing that.
You can decide to market product of different company or person's at same time by doing this you are sure that everyday someone will buy from one of those product's there by making money every day.
When you become an expert in affiliate marketing you will start making profit every day of your life.

It's not always about monetary investments, one needs to put in a lot of effort and work hard to be able to have better chances of succeeding as an affiliate marketer because it's not an easy job to do. Besides, it's a job and not a business, because you are working to earn money and I believe every job in the world is free as long as you qualify for it.

If you look around, you won't find a lot of affiliate marketers, what do you think is the reason behind that? It is because the success rate is very low while the workload is extremely high which makes people uninterested in it. Suppose you compare affiliate marketing with cryptocurrency trading under the same criteria. In that case, you will see that there is an excess of cryptocurrency traders in the market, and the reason is obvious, they all can get some money out of it if they do it properly, but it's not the case with affiliate marketing.
105  Economy / Economics / Re: It's better to invest now than to regret it in a hospital bed. on: April 25, 2024, 10:16:37 AM
I'm a Bitcoin fanatic and I'd want people around me to invest in Bitcoin, but I think you're taking this investment thing too far. The best investment one can ever have is relationship. Even with all the money in the world, when you don't have people around you who genuinely love and can stand with you when you need them, then you've nothing. So while you're chasing money don't forget the most important things that matters in life.

I don't see any connection between investments and relationships, to be honest. A person makes investments when they know they can afford to do that if they have saved some extra money apart from their savings or emergency funds and they want to invest that money somewhere so that they can earn some extra cash, I don't see anything wrong with that as long as the person investing makes sure that they are doing it in the right place and aren't wasting the money.

There is no doubt that you can't live a comfortable life if you don't have any relationships intact, some might think it is easy to live alone and have no relations around you but that isn't true, however, your decisions about making investments shouldn't have any effect on your relationships and you should be free to do whatever you want with your money while making sure that you are making the right investment choices.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please, I urge you to buy bitcoin! on: April 25, 2024, 05:30:42 AM
Although Bitcoin is accessible and affordable to everyone, anyone can invest in it. And the more people continue to invest in it, the more its popularity and value will increase.

Well, it's accessible to everyone with an electronic device and an internet connection and affordable to those with a stable income source. Bitcoin is just like a normal investment asset, it requires one to have money and understanding to participate, if one has none of these or even if they have knowledge but no money, there is no way for them to be a part of it because you need money to earn money in investment markets such as this.

Some people say that Bitcoin can help reduce poverty of the world, some say it can help improve the economy of a country, and I wonder on what basis are such statements made because Bitcoin doesn't do magic, if a government decides to make investments in it to earn profit and use that to improve the economy, that's possible, but otherwise, Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency have no influence on such things at all.

108  Economy / Economics / Re: Young people are less likely to accept traditional employments in this era! on: April 24, 2024, 10:59:10 AM
Younger people are less likely to accept traditional employment probably because they value flexibility & work-life balance seeking greater control over their time & schedules. They prioritise personal growth & fulfilment opting for careers that align with their passions & values. Younger generations embrace technology & digital platforms, enabling them to work remotely & explore entrepreneurial ventures. Younger people are driven by a desire for autonomy, purpose & the ability to adapt to changing economic landscapes.

You are right, but I believe despite all this, there will always be people willing to work in traditional industries because out of millions of people, there would be some who would be interested in traditional industries such as agriculture, mining, oil, etc. Besides, it is not like the whole world is going to get educated, no matter how advanced the world gets, there will always be some parts of the world where people won't be educated enough to be able to work in modern industries and workplaces and use technology to earn money, and such will be the people working in traditional work sectors.

So considering the economic situation we are facing all around the world, this should be the least of our concerns. Governments should make sure their countries have stable economies and their people aren't suffering from inflation and high rates of essentials. Things such as we are discussing here won't be that big of an issue I'm sure.
109  Economy / Economics / Re: Your aging and retirement plan is your responsibility. on: April 24, 2024, 08:58:34 AM
Even though this is part of the parents' responsibility towards their children, on the one hand, people who are born into rich families must also realize that one day they will also build their own family life like their parents are building their family now. So it would be a huge loss if they don't think from now on when there are still many pleasures they can experience through their own parents so that they can get continuous enjoyment until their old age arrives. Because now we can see that there are many poor people who are struggling for this even though they have to go through a very bitter process in their lives.

It depends on the upbringing and what parents teach their children about life and wealth and every other thing that matters. If parents are not interested in teaching their children the value of money and how difficult it is to earn money and be responsible when they step into practical life, they will barely care about such things because all they would be doing is spending the money their parents earn and think that they will have the same privilege in the future as well, and parents also don't tell them that they will need to take care of themselves on their own in the future when they won't be around anymore.

Sure, they might get some wealth as an inheritance from their parents when they pass away, but that wealth wouldn't stay forever or grow until they do something with it, and one can only do something valuable with existing wealth if they have learned something in the past.

Such are the people who would spend and finish all the inherited wealth and then start from scratch, living a life that is miserable and full of struggles because they didn't act positively when they needed to.
110  Other / Meta / Re: Error while accessing a specific section on: April 23, 2024, 07:58:46 PM
Check the thread theymos made few minutes ago, I believe that’s the cause.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5493963.0

Thanks, just saw that. I guess it explains the reason behind the error. I'm locking the thread.

You can see theymos posted already and which can be used for the discussion. I do not think there should be any other thing to discuss about it has thrymos has posted a out what happen already. Just lick this thread instead.

His post came after mine because the first thing I did after facing that error was to check this section to see if there is something related to it but I didn't find anything.
111  Other / Meta / Error while accessing a specific section on: April 23, 2024, 07:54:01 PM
I was getting the following error when trying to access the Gambling section a minute or so ago. Is it something that needs to be fixed or what?

Edit: I'm able to access it now. I will lock the thread after a while, leaving it open just in case someone wants to explain the reason for the error.

Edit 2: Locking the thread as theymos has already explained the reason behind the error in this post.
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hal Finney wins award for his contribution to Bitcoin development! on: April 23, 2024, 06:16:00 PM
Also, the @theymos explorer is from 2010, and the next three awards will be given to people for their contributions in the period 2012-2024. I think that the winners in that period should be looked for in those who had a key role in the development of SegWit and Lightning Network, and maybe those who stood up to CW Faketoshi, like @Hodlonaut.

What about this forum? Shouldn't theymos get the recognition he deserves for keeping this forum alive and taking such good care of it for all those years? This is the official Bitcoin forum created by Satoshi himself, but if it wasn't managed in a good way, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be in the state it is today, and we can't neglect the efforts of theymos for doing that along with other members who supported him.

Understandably, later developers are deserving as well, but I think he should at least get one of the awards from 2012-2024 because even if he didn't contribute much to the network or the blockchain in these years, he has been around and managing and keeping the official forum alive which isn't less than other contributions people have made for Bitcoin.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now that Bitcoin halving have been completed, what next? on: April 23, 2024, 05:33:30 PM
We've already seen innovation such as Taproot and Ordinals take the crypto world by storm. All of this happened before the 4th halving took place a few days ago.

Most of us aren't very big fans of the ordinals as the market is still suffering from extremely high fees due to them and we aren't able to make normal transactions in Bitcoin because of this. I'm pretty sure that the majority of Bitcoin users are affected by this.

With BTC being promoted as the "best performing asset on Earth", you can expect more people to join the revolution.

We do, and whether this bull run will be a significant one or not depends on that, the more people join the revolution, the higher the possibility for Bitcoin hitting a very high all-time high in this bull run, otherwise, we will just see the ordinary.

We're still early considering that there are a few more halvings left before all BTC are mined (which will happen by 2100).

The last block that will mine new bitcoins is estimated to take place around 2140 after which the blocks won't mine any new bitcoins and miners will only get transaction fees as a reward for mining a new block.

The question is: Will you keep buying and "hodling" BTC? Or will you sell it to greedy companies and institutions? Smiley

I'll keep buying and holding until I get a reasonable price to sell my assets to the greedy companies and institutions wanting them.  Smiley

115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely ? on: April 22, 2024, 06:18:53 PM
If you're trading $100 or less in Bitcoin and you're paying $20 or more in fees to trade that small amount, I'd say you should definitely avoid trading. If you have to pay a fee of $20 or more for a $100 transaction or a $50 transaction, you will not feel comfortable doing this transaction. Bitcoin transaction fees are not always the same if you can wait then Bitcoin transaction fees will return to normal and when Bitcoin transaction fees return to normal then Bitcoin can be traded. Hopefully, for your own good, at least wait this long so that you can complete the transaction with a relatively low dollar amount.

Waiting is only possible if a transaction one is doing isn't compulsory. Still, if someone has to make a transaction at any cost for some reason, they wouldn't have a choice but to pay a higher amount in transaction fees so that their transaction gets confirmed quickly because when the network is congested if you make a transaction with low fees, it's going to get stuck in the middle. Then you will need to double spend it with higher fees again to get it back to your wallet or boost the fees so that it goes through. In both cases, the initiator will need to pay extra money.

It's not mainly about trading in my opinion, but mostly about transactions that are sent from one individual to another or from an individual to a platform where they need those funds and they can't wait for the network to get back to its usual state.
116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No gambling today due to bitcoin high transaction fee. on: April 21, 2024, 09:39:34 PM
Gambling with Bitcoin is not a good idea even if the fees aren't as high as they are right now, at least I don't like it.

It's better if you gamble using stable coins because it makes it easier for you to keep a count if you are using a stable coin such as USDT, you will know how much you are using as the bet, how much you had, how much you have lost or won, etc., but if you are gambling with Bitcoin, it wouldn't be that easy and you will need to see the conversion of Bitcoin to USDT first to find out what you are trying to see.

People who use Bitcoin for gambling might not agree with me, but that is what I think and it is what I do when I'm gambling for better clarity.
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will Happen to crypto market after Bitcoin halving?? on: April 21, 2024, 09:35:36 PM
I don’t think we will see anytime soon btc price pumping because as far as I know, the effect of bitcoin halving will only be seen most likely 6 months after halving. But at least we aren’t seeing a red market also, that’s actually a good sign that the bullish market is still happening. So we don’t have to pressure ourselves right now, just be more patient while trying to accumulate more bitcoin prior to bull run. And if you’re not into buying right now, then at least hold tight your coins and take part in selling when bull run comes.

The movements of Bitcoin haven't been as regular as they used to be in the past, so maybe we shouldn't expect what we used to see in the previous bull runs to happen this time around and the effects of halving might be seen differently this time.

Did you expect Bitcoin to hit a new ATH before the halving event? I didn't, I was expecting the price to recover slowly until the halving event and then it might start moving up, but it surprised me and many others with the quick growth it showed earlier this year.

So, the post-halving period might not be the same as well and it might surprise us either in a positive or a negative way.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much interest do you earn from your USDT? on: April 21, 2024, 09:07:23 PM
For me, staking is not that intriguing and I would rather trade using the USDT that I may stake to get less than 5% in return for a whole year while I'm sure I can make that much in a day or maybe more than that, the only thing that it would require from me is to be knowledgeable enough to make more successful trades than failed ones so that I can stay profitable, and even if I lose more trades, I should recover the loss with proper management of my funds and the trades that I'll make.

I know that exchange platforms are generally trusted because they have been around for quite long and there is no sudden risk of them going bankrupt or running away with their customers funds mostly because they are licensed, however, we can't forget the past where things like this happened, this is why I don't find it safe to keep a large amount of funds in an exchange platform that too for such a long time.

So for me, trading is much better than staking.
119  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Simple practices to improve trading (2). on: April 21, 2024, 08:53:37 PM
The same information can be gotten yourself if you find out how, and when you find out how, it becomes a lifelong skill because you will always know how to stay informed.

Even though it's not that difficult, some people are too lazy to do that which is why they look for shortcuts. Shortcuts for trading can either be copy-trading features provided by exchange platforms or joining signal groups on Telegram or other messaging apps where you get trading signals to get profit which I have never tried myself so I can't share any experience. However, I have always wondered how can they have so many successful trades and still beg members to join their premium groups only for $10 to $15 a month.

You can find hundreds of unsatisfied and frustrated newbie traders on social media all the time, those are the ones who can't get rid of this dependency and when they don't get success as they expected, they become angry and frustrated, might even abuse the market and cryptocurrencies for their losses but they would never blame themselves for not trying to learn something before they got into trading and blindly following others.
120  Economy / Economics / Re: Your aging and retirement plan is your responsibility. on: April 21, 2024, 06:25:44 PM
What you see around your life needs to be compared between the positive side and the negative side. I always remember one of the proverbs that is very popular in my country, "Prepare an umbrella before it rains" as motivation to prepare everything before something undesirable happens when I reach retirement age.

In human life, uncertainty always exists as no one is able to predict any event with an accuracy level of up to 100%, so vigilance is very necessary as a form of anticipation of this uncertainty. It's very important to prepare a retirement plan before something unexpected happens, so before it's too late, you need to make preparations so you don't regret it later.

Uncertainty in life is inevitable, no doubt, so you are right that people should prepare while they can before it's too late. However, we can't ignore the fact that some people aren't able to do it in the first place.

If a person is doing pretty well, they have everything they need in life and everything they have always wanted, they are living a luxurious life and spending money on everything they want to do, but they haven't done anything for their future, no savings, no investments, no assets built, nothing at all. Such people should be blamed for their carelessness.

But, if someone doesn't earn enough, is living a normal life, and has no money left by the end of the month, you can't blame them for not planning for their retirement or anything.
