Bobsags3 and TechnoBit
There are minions in the wild that will not produce 100ghs.
Have the minion chips been graded?
Is Black Arrow sending out grade A chips?
Is this project guarantying 400ghs per four chip board?
Or will it be, be glad you got anything and STFU.

I was warned of a potential 2-5% failure rate but I am hoping that is not the case. I hope there is no grade difference either.

Edit: Here is what Blackarrow said,

We have received your ticket. I'll make sure that your ASICs are shipped on Monday.

Please note that our ASICs are not tested therefore 2-5% might not work. This is a standard practice in the industry.

Regards!

If they haven't been tested, there will be dead chips and there will be differences in how well the chips work. I suspect this may surprise some in the GB. Explaining the no response to my question of guarantying 400ghs. BFL ended up putting three low grade chips in a two chip Jalapenos at the end. Less ghs/watt.

We shipped marto more than a few extra chips from our personal converted orders to cover chips purchased from us to extra, and to account for dead chips for everyone else who has gone thru the GB, consider it a free bonus.

This is great news! Definitely above and beyond from MS here. BA was ready to let us eat any dead chips.

HI all,
I got a notice from DHL today for 2 sendings from USA and China.
I took the import documents paid VAT via bank transfer and left papers @ the customs office to wait the money to be confirmed and then papers cleared.
Usually in Bulgaria this takes 2-3 working days. If we got lucky I'll have the chips by the end of the day tomorrow ( second day).
AS soon I have chips in hand and count what received I'll contact miner source for a list of the participants in the GB.
This will be the moment we will count our 2 weeks shipping time.
WE 'll dispatch boards as ready by the orders number as it was placed  in our site .

One shipment must be from me then.

The other from me. It's already out for delivery  Grin.

I'm confused are the first batch of the group buy stuck at customs or just that guys.

just that guys

what guys?we are all released of tax..arent we?customers from EU receive from marto and customer from US receive orders from bobsag..

Unless you declare a low value (under $15), there will be duties to be paid if you are shipping from outside of the EU. It sounds like BA sent out some customer's orders directly to technobit. I am not sure why some are sent as a lot and others are individual orders.
1009  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Minion Chip Assembly GB on: July 15, 2014, 04:43:27 PM
My chips were sent directly from BA to Technobit (batch 1) instead of first passing through Minersource.
It seems they are now stuck at customs.  Undecided

bobsag, are you aware of import duty and/or taxes to pay when importing to Bulgaria?
Did you have to pay for any when the first batch of chips were imported?

I think you get the customs back a month after Technobit mails you your boards. No sure how to pay though. I had BA ship to me and sent them on with DHL.

Edit: The duties are something like 20% of the declared value.
1010  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Minion Chip Assembly GB on: July 15, 2014, 02:37:56 PM
if you have 4 more chips you can pay separately for the board.

no you cant..
the order is for everything.. so if you wanna pay seperatly then you have pay that for all your boards..

I think you are right! I am willing to sell 4 chips at once because if I sell 2,then the rest 2 are more useless then 4 Cheesy
Pm me your price and location.
im sure we can find somebody else who need 2 or so..

I'll take 2.

Edit: they should be able to be transferred once they arrive at Technobit.

This deserves a bump for mentioning Veblen. Smiley

There is a 10% off coupon if you order from MCM, promo code WLCM10.  Wink
1013  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 15, 2014, 01:34:42 AM
Went for the refund option. The coupon seems more risky until the S3s arrive.

Watching this thread. These are looking more interesting as Bitmain reduces the specs for the S3.
1015  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Minion Chip Assembly GB on: July 14, 2014, 11:25:49 PM
1 board holds four chips you can pay for the board with 4 more chips but you have to pay for shipping in cash not chips

So 1 complete board costs 6 chips + shipping?

No 8 chips.. about shipping costs i dont know..!

Just to make sure I have this straight. It costs 8 chips as payment, 4 chips to actually mount, plus shipping? So for every 2 X1's converted (12 Minions) you can get 1 complete Technobit for the cost of shipping?

It's 4 chips for payment and 4 chips to mount. So, 2 X1s will leave you will 4 chips left over to either pay for assembly or sell to someone else. Shipping is an additional cost. You need to buy 4 coolers per board and a TP-link for up to 10 boards.
1016  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Minion Chip Assembly GB on: July 14, 2014, 08:58:54 PM
For me to the UK I was quoted about €30 for shipping

€30 for how many boards?

FYI: 18 boards to USA was 214Euro with UPS for 33.480kg.
1017  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 14, 2014, 04:08:13 PM
Partial refund sounds like the best option until we can see how stable these units are.

Edit: I might even go for a full refund if that was available.
1018  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 6 x 1-BTC Brass 2013 Casascius Coins [SOLD] on: July 14, 2014, 08:59:34 AM
Sold! Smiley

I made a fine deal with the joint, without escrow. Very decent and fast communication, provided me some proof about his ID and stuff I asked for without any problem.

Looks like a good deal. If you want to sell one or two, PM me.
1019  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: **BUY** - Investment: 5000$ - looking for Spondoolies sp30-August on: July 14, 2014, 08:40:13 AM
You could order one here, http://www.gawminers.com/products/shipped-pre-order-september-6-th-s-spondoolies-tech-sp30-yukon-batch-1/. They accept credit cards. You are better off using a credit card if you ever need to charge back an item than your paypal balance or paypal credit (bill me later). Trust me here, I had to do this last fall with Terrahash and Bitmine.ch. One was paypal and the other was a credit card. The credit card was infinitely easier to charge back when the company failed to deliver.

My question is why a SP30? Buying pre-order hardware right now is very risky no matter how well a company has preformed in the past. I highly recommend buying in stock miners or waiting until a miner you like is in stock.

Is the cooler mount the same as a LGA775? Anyone found a good bulk deal for coolers?
