The Lightning Week from Heaven/Hell

(NOTE: This may not flow or make any sense, as I just starting typing random shit!)

So it has been about a week since I got this LN Node running, and I must say, I am having mixed feelings about this. I know it still early in the game.

...

Bob had similar experiences a few years ago.

...

Playing with it over the last 4 months has been... well... a bit of a slog TBH as things were approaching the 0.6 release.

Funded about 0.5 BTC to play with across a bunch of channels, pulled out 0.26 BTC after shutting everything down. Fucked around with Satoshi's place a bit, bought some stickers, but I believe most of the 0.24 BTC I didn't get back was blown on channel open/close fees, and possibly just "lost" due to bugs and shit.

 Whatever.

EU wants every phone to have same charger – including iPhone

It also suggests that the sale of phones and their charger should be separated, so that people do not end up with a host of chargers that they do not need and which become waste.

Margrethe Vestager, executive vice-president for the European Commission’s Europe Fit for the Digital Age strategy, said the decision to move to require universal chargers came after companies failed to find a fix themselves.

“We gave industry plenty of time to come up with their own solutions, now time is ripe for legislative action for a common charger. This is an important win for our consumers and environment and in line with our green and digital ambitions.”

https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/eu-phone-charger-rule-iphone-b1925551.html

No doubt I would say arguably an excellent move… EU is taking lead yet again to bring a common charger and a common charging cable across all the devices… amazing bravo EU..I hope the world will follow!!!  but can we please take similar steps to a more bigger problem like “money” can we all have the same money? Let’s make bitcoin a common currency of the world.

How this digital age strategy would be complete without bitcoin?

Let’s make it common once and for all. Let’s bring bitcoin to the world or to be more exact let’s bring world to bitcoin.

Why should the EU care what cable or charger I use? this is stupid, it only cements the present technology and hampers innovation.
When a new and better charger/cable hits the market it will be banned in the EU, how is that good?

It's great, just like the EU ban on bent cucumbers. What could possibly go wrong?

What are the punishments for smuggling/selling illegal cucumbers?

Castration! Double Castration!!

Getting sick of these dips now. Starting to doubt my confidence about new highs later in the year now  Undecided

Edit - Not selling obviously but not feeling particularly bullish atm.

It might be just noise.

However, other analysts played down fears of a rout, noting that September is typically a bad months for stocks.

"Overall, September continues to live up to its bad reputation as historically the weakest month of the year. But that doesn't mean it can't rebound," said JJ Kinahan, chief market strategist at TD Ameritrade.

And Lindsey Bell of Ally Invest said any pullback may be short-lived.

"Much of investing is about sorting through what's signal and what's noise," she said. "While there is concern about the Evergrande situation infecting global markets, for the long-term investor, this situation may just be noise."

The next full moon will occur on Monday, Sept. 20 at 7:55 p.m. EDT (23:55 UTC), but the moon will appear full the night before and after its peak to the casual stargazer. September's full moon will be the Harvest Moon of 2021, though it is sometimes known as the Corn Moon and has many other nicknames by different cultures.

Is full moon the reason we got a dip? Do we get a pump at the next full moon?

Bah, you assholes that brought me back to the Lightning network...

Loading up some more coin to establish some better routes.

Fuck. Down the rabbit hole I go again...

Sorry Bob!.. I actually know how you feel!.. I am up to 41 Channels…

Originally thought I’ll just use some play Bitcoin… 0.125… now I have just a little over 1 BTC committed…

It escalated pretty quickly…

How much profit can you make running a channel?

They are selling like mofos

Time to buy then.

Time to sell when they are buying like mofos.

Have you lost your sense of taste or smell?

Did not lose either my sense of taste or smell.

Rick lost his sense of taste for a few days, however.

Do you have any lingering after effects?

Just tested negative for COVID-19, so I'm out of the woods, and Rick and I both have a robust natural immunity now.

are there any situations when having battery in, but phone off can affect anything?
A genuine question.

if the battery is in, some part of the phone is on, even if its just something that looks for the power button to be pressed. who knows what else could be powered when the battery is in it but "dormant" (idle) waiting for some trigger.

no battery is the only way to be sure its really, really off instead of some kind of "soft" off mode.

There's a hidden operating system that's always running on Intel processor computers, even when they are turned off by the power button. It's called the Intel Management Engine.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Management_Engine

Quote
The Intel Management Engine always runs as long as the motherboard is receiving power, even when the computer is turned off.

Quote
Intel's main competitor AMD has incorporated the equivalent AMD Secure Technology (formally called Platform Security Processor) in virtually all of its post-2013 CPUs

The Intel Management Engine is an operating system called MINIX 3. Linux was developed on an early version of Minix, and has some of its features.

Quote
All Intel chipsets post-2015 are running MINIX 3 internally as the software component of the Intel Management Engine

Nah, this takes out Tether and finishes the collapse of bitcoin. Bitcoin below $10k within 1 year. Completely evaporates for all practical purposes within 2 years. This was the confirmed Chinese news we've all known was eventually coming.

dude... I often wonder wtf is your purpose here?
The joke has long worn off.
I know, as everyone else does who frequents this thread, that you are packing a shitload of bitcoin, so what gives?

Sussssh, he's hunting cwyptos.

...

To sum it up: I'd try to convince a nocoiner about the sanity of Bitcoin one time. If he/she doesn't get it, or is already "clever enough", just like the two selfmade shitcoin traders in my lil story from two days ago, i'll let it go. If i really like or care about somebody, i'd try again after a while. Then i just leave them up to themselves, in regards of Bitcoin.

If that chart looks like Godzilla is about to stand up, you will see it fire some laser eyes following a trend line going uppity.

@JayJuanGee, yeah I drew that by myself and it wasn't a blindfold. I like to look at trading from the TA perspective. Well, I really don't know if your question was a mockery or you actually wanted to know a thing or two but let me quickly say that what you've there are BB, MA and a horizontal line to show for TA inclination.

Of course, I am not against squiggly lines and TA, so long as they are considered in a proper context....

The kraken really should upgrade its server to a computer that powerful.

Yeah... software raid seems to be the best right now. Some systems like old refurbished servers from HP and Dell, don't really allow you to not use the built-in hardware RAID, but you can always just configure it as JBOD or something and let the software handle the raid.

Then there's unraid and freenas / truenas.

Software JBOD is the absolute worst method for data integrity.

It literally increases your chances of catastrophic data loss exponentially.

raid 6 is safest.

As was noted previously Jbear is a expert on the subject, I miss him.

Yeah.  I hope he is OK.  Maybe he just got tired of us picking on him for for his big-blockness.

I miss gentlemand. There's another one not posted for ages.

You got a bargain ballcap for 0.4 BTC?

That's including shipping and import.

That's going to be a $400k ballcap when bitcoin hits a million dollars.

His crashed Duccati that he bought when BTC was $700 per each.. looked pretty damned nice too... and gosh, you might wonder why some peeps never make it even close to fuck you status.

But they have a lot of funzies along the way...  and might be crying a lot when they are in their 50s that they do not have much of anything and they are also not feeling like working so much, either.. .... but do they have a choice at that point?

To each their own, no?

hey JJG, why the bad vibes?? I really enjoy reading your walls of text, and I usually adhere to your toughts. But this negativity surprises me.

Let him enjoy his wealth. Carpe diem they say.

He's not the only one, quite a few of us bought things with bitcoin. Buying something is better than losing your bitcoins gambling them on exchanges. At least you get something to show for them.

That's better than nothing.

1 month rental apartment 1 bedroom junior size $30000

bought a $900K miner from HashFast Inc. Technologies, LLC back in 2013.  Roll Eyes

I visited a friend yesterday and saw the bike that I had gifted him. a nice $180k bicycle. not sure if he really knows what it means to ride germanys most expensive bike.

i bought like 5 games off steam when they took btc. id have to check the prices at the time but probably comes 15-20k USD per game at this price point today. so call it say around 100 grand.

I guess my $20k ballcap wasn't so bad.

Actually we should be proud of our part in making Bitcoin bitcoin what it is today.

We may not have bought 10kBTC pizzas but we all chipped in.
