Found another solution:

DVD that has a stone layer. Last 1000 years. You need a special DVD drive to write them, but they can be read by any normal DVD drive.

EDIT: Link to $17 LG burner with m-disk support

Data engraved in stone

Although the amount of data we need to back up for Bitcoins is so small that you could chisel it in stone manually.

make take quite a bit tho

Use it to back up the blockchain then Cheesy
that would be a neat idea. every X blocks back up the newest part ofthe blockchain to a disk

What's your solution smart ass

As I said before doing the smartest thing would be using passgurdian on a private key or multiple private keys. Then distributing them to multiple people. So for example you can set it so that you have 10 keys and 6 are needed to decrypt the whole thing. so you could give out 8 of them or even just 5 of them. then keep 2 hidden somewhere and then put one or 2 on your will or something. and then one on a deadmans switch.

you could just test it live with real market data but no coins risked

please be aware of the few fake negatives I do have. They are fake as they come from someone negitivly rated and tried to blackmail/extort me.  If you want to verify that I am the same starsoccer please do so with the below signature. The address is linked to the otc account.

Most answers have revolved around hidden files, USB keys, scraps of paper, passwords etc. But what happens when you die?

Let's assume that you have some significant wealth in BTC, and that you would like your spouse or children to inherit it. How do you create a wallet that is both secure against theft but can still actually be spent by authorised individuals after your death?

My current thinking is a brain wallet saved on a USB key, deposited with an attorney. Give the password to next of kin, make sure they remember it but don't explain what it's for.

Actully I think the best way would be a private key encrypted with pass guardian and have the keys distributed to trusted people.
1049  Economy / Goods / Re: Buy a Avalon. Only 1 BTC. (raffle) on: July 12, 2013, 12:37:00 AM
hmm so you couldnt get the 250btc you wanted so instead your gonna have everyone pay 1btc for a shot to win it. Which could take years as you wont pick the winner until you get 250btc.

not butthurt at all - once you sell your june order, there will be no more june pre-orders on sale. It's an open market - the less the offers, the higher the prices.

well thanks xorred. I have to thank you as now I am probably getting a june preorder for you price. Thanks alot

This thread is so ridiculous. August orders are not even close. They are still shipping June 23rd. I might as well do some highjacking and offer June 2012 at the same price that xorred is asking. Just for the lulz. I'll even pay JohnK's escrow fees Wink

Butthurt much, xorred.

hehe, mxrider if your serious I would probably buy your unit. Want to chat over PM?

Here's Soccer's Reputation thread before you trade with him:

http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratingdetail.php?nick=starsoccer

This is the link he sent to me so judge for yourself.

Looking to buy XPM. Nothing is set in stone. Just pm me your price

As I stated to him multiple times that I have fake negatives and its quite clear to see on the webpage. I have 2 real negatives from neonindian and glooboy. I have no problem saying this. I told charless999 this multiple times which he just refused to listen. He also refused escrow claiming he does escrow and its to troublesome for him. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

Also another fake negative was recently brought to my attention via pm on my forum account. He is also rated negatively and if you want to check the coinroll.it thread it was established that he fakes screenshots and such basically everything he accused me of doing he did.

I love how butthurt you are but no, I won't sell for 40-70 coins Wink  Go buy a September one, I'll keep my 3rd of August for myself if they don't sell  Grin

butthurt? i Already have 2 preorders, June and July. Like I said before my july preorder was for 60ish coins. Im not telling you to sell it just doesnt make alot of sense how you claim to not be going lower yet you lower by 40%. And you still claim your willing to just keep the units and mine
1056  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 3x60GHs BFL ASIC August 2012 Pre-orders for sale 90 BTC/piece bid on: July 09, 2013, 01:11:20 AM
So funny how you said 110 was the lowest, yet btc price plummets and you go 20coins lower. So you decrease the cost by about 40% that sounds about 2/3 weeks late. BFL asics in sept selling for 30btc. asics in july are selling at about 100. so your have a better shot around 40-70 coins.
1057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: July 09, 2013, 01:07:19 AM
Can i go to sleep or is there a slight chance you'll release it to the public in the next few hours?  Grin
Probably not.
I'll only release it after BFGMiner is working well with it, AND if I've concluded Primecoin isn't a scamcoin.

hopefully it isnt a scamcoin

Any hope of a gpu version?
1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: July 09, 2013, 12:23:44 AM

Also the devs can just kill the program?
1059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymous BitCoin transactions with BitMessage on: July 09, 2013, 12:21:12 AM
Once you have A2 and A3 you use the blockchain to send it to B1. Then you give B1 to someone and rinse and repeat.

So someone sends from B1 to C1. and so on
