1041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Transaction fee is too high ? on: February 28, 2018, 06:26:54 PM
Where the heck did you notice that? I don't find them being high for more than a few weeks now. Since the day when Bitcoin dropped below $14k level, the fees has reduced significantly. I wonder what wallet you are using which asks for more than the core amount as fees. You should probably change your wallet if it is because of it.

1044  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: February 24, 2018, 07:01:51 PM
What @bitmover has said is totally accurate. But I just want to give my answer too as I'm excited because I learnt this just now while searching for the answer of this, and have never been aware of anything like this before.

So, a more clear and simple answer to the question, "How exactly does a 51% attack work?" is that a person or a group of people having control over 51% or more hash power can easily manipulate the transactions, meaning they can prevent other miners from mining any blocks and do it themselves to earn all the block rewards and they can pretty easily double-spend a transaction done by themselves, or prevent other transactions to get confirmed.
However, they cannot do much with already mined blocks and transactions. The more the time distance of a transaction/block is, the less are the possibilities for the attackers to change or reverse it.
Such an attack can be done even with less hash power but the probability of success would be much less then.
1045  Economy / Exchanges / Re: DO NOT STORE BITCOIN ON LOCALBITCOINS!! THEY CAN AND WILL FREEZE YOUR ASSETS on: February 24, 2018, 05:57:33 PM
Your statements "They can and will freeze your assets" and their statement "please, withdraw your BTC within next 24 hours." are totally opposite of one another. If they give you time to withdraw your funds, it doesn't indicate any scam attempt in my opinion. If they really wanted to freeze/steal your money, they would never give you a time frame to withdraw them. There must have been some reason for what they did this as it is not a normal activity for Localbitcoins and I'm hearing this for the first time.
1046  Economy / Services / Re: [Required] Moderators for FORUM ( 0.1 BTC/Month Salary) on: February 23, 2018, 12:18:54 PM
Why have you started another thread without locking or deleting the other one? You could simply edit that one and add the info you wanted to, without having to create another copy of that thread and add the new information.
And, you should probably escrow the funds or pay upfront in order to get honest and working moderators if you are serious about this. Because I don't think anyone would work without any guaranteed payment for a new forum.

I created a Thread here and as well as in the Gambling section, the Mod has moved the thread from the Gambling section here and we cant delete our own threads in this section and I am newbie here so can pm to mod in every one hour.

And right now i can only pay funds to the Mods and will think of adding an escrow later onwards

You should lock the previous thread until it is deleted by a moderator. And if you will pay half of the payment upfront as said by someone above, I will also apply for this, but if not, then I won't risk wasting my time.

Hi there. Have you heard about lazy-heads?  Roll Eyes Who are they? Its you!
Before learning about anything else, learn to read, and you will not need to ask about something which is like an open book if you surf the forum properly.
1049  Other / Meta / Re: Good posts not rewarded with merits. on: February 23, 2018, 11:00:39 AM
I think it is not really unfavorable to anyone at all, but the reason why every quality post do not receive Merits is that they disappear if a lot of replies are posted after that. Now if I have sMerits to giveaway, I would probably not surf every single page of a thread to find the constructive posts and Merit them, but I would prefer Meriting the ones I come across while reading a thread. That is exactly how it is working right now. People with sMerits are rewarding the posts that are on the same page they are reading, and because of this, the constructive posts in previous pages are missed and thus a few or more than a few constructive posts get no Merits even though they deserve some.
1050  Other / Meta / Re: Some confusions regarding "Merit system" on: February 23, 2018, 10:19:36 AM
And do you know how that negative trust with merit system is working? If someone with negative trust will send you a merit (don't ask me why it has it, it will) your account most likely will be with minus trust in few hours, an exception could be only if you a legend bro. So there is definitely another side of a coin, but I am struggling to see it.

Never heard about that, nor did theymos mentioned it in his post about the system. I don't think that is how it works. Merits/sMerits have nothing to do with the trust system. A person either with positive or negative trust can give sMerits to people without affecting their trust system because Merits are just to show that a post is constructive, and they are positive, so they in no way can work negatively towards an account.
1051  Other / Off-topic / Re: Awarding Merit for the highest quality threads/posts on: February 22, 2018, 07:43:50 PM
This "Merit Rewarding" thing is becoming more of a self-promotion now in my opinion. It was good when done by one, two or at least 3 members with higher ranks, but now it seems like every other member with the hope of getting Merits for the thread is starting a "Merit Rewarding" campaign, just because the previous such threads have received quite a lot of Merits from other users as a help for the service.
There is no need of reviewing the posts of people and award them if they are constructive because they will eventually receive merits if they deserve any. Such a service is only good for the reason that if a post gets ignored because of the many posts after that in threads with many pages as no one actually click each page and read the posts to see if there are any constructive posts or not, but they merit only the ones they come across in any thread. But now it is going too far, just like the "Transaction Accelerator Services" of Services section which are more than needed.
1052  Economy / Services / Re: Buy My Signature (I Will Be Posting 150 Quality Posts/Day) on: February 22, 2018, 07:22:21 PM
You are tagged for account farming and spam. You have no quality posting instincts which is what your post history shows. And, the amount you are asking for is quite a lot for your rank of a positive account. So none of the things are in your favor to be honest. And I think you shouldn't have even attempted this after knowing all these things.
1053  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NEO Guide for Beginners on: February 21, 2018, 11:33:14 AM
It doesn't really make any sense to copy the texts of an article and paste it here. If you really want to start a discussion or carry in information to the forum then you should write your own thoughts on it as well and then post the article for people to get more information from it. It cannot be called contributing if you are copy-pasting content from somewhere else to the forum, no matter how crucial or important info it demonstrates.
1054  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is USDT (Tether) and how Does It Work? on: February 15, 2018, 07:32:08 PM
You should probably remove the '?' from subject as from the outside it is totally looking like you are asking instead of giving information about it.
And, if someone wants to learn something from somewhere else, they can easily google about it. So if you want to give information to people about something to be helpful, you should write the things in your post instead of posting a link. In that way, people will directly get the things from the forum, without having to go outside the forum and read articles to get them. That is a more convenient way to share information with the community IMO.
1055  Economy / Services / Re: Biggest sex industry ICO looking for dedicated promotors. BIG REWARDS!!!!! on: February 15, 2018, 05:24:10 PM
This thread has nothing to do with Bitcoin. Thus, it has to be moved to Marketplace (Altcoin) section. Only services that are paying/also paying with Bitcoin are supposed to be posted in this section as long as I know.
People interested in Altcoins are mostly active in Altcoin boards. So your thread will likely get more audience there as well.
1056  Economy / Services / Re: Yahoo62278 Sig & Avatar Campaign(High merit required) on: February 15, 2018, 01:48:44 PM
The rates are all some people see before applying for a campaign I guess.  Roll Eyes Because it clearly states about the Merit's count for particular ranks to be eligible for the campaign, and there are still more than 30% people applying without having the Merits required.

1058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is 21 Million maximum cap for bitcoin ? on: February 14, 2018, 10:48:07 AM
Because that is the amount of coins generated when Bitcoin was created, and Bitcoin isn't some fiat money controlled by a government who anytime can print any amount of it and circulate it with the total cap. So the amount generated at that time, will always stay constant.
By the way, is that a bought account?  Roll Eyes Because if you would have spent that much time to become a full member, you must have come to know this thing at least by now.
1059  Other / Meta / Re: Merit "trading" - buying and selling Bitcointalk merit on: February 14, 2018, 09:58:19 AM
I don't think the people already aware of the system need a reminder for this, and the ones who are not, they don't really care.
No one doing something against the rules of a community can hide forever. So the ones trying to sell or selling Merits would eventually be revealed and they will have no other way than leaving the forum for good. Creating new accounts won't help in this case as Merits are not gained automatically, but they are to be earned manually by efforts, and someone having enough knowledge to contribute something to the community would never need to sell Merits for a few bucks.
1060  Other / Meta / Re: Over 20 million views on: February 13, 2018, 11:59:23 AM
Who doesn't think that this forum is popular for any kind of Bitcoin discussions? Isn't near 2 Million account sign ups enough to prove that? Do we really need to use threads as references to demonstrate the popularity of this forum to people? I know that there are no limitations on creating accounts, so anyone can have any amount of accounts in here, but despite that fact, I think 2 Million is a very large number.
