1061  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Faketoshi CSW vs Cøbra Bitcoin on: January 29, 2021, 08:11:21 PM
I don't see any way in which Faketoshi could win this. There's literally no way for him to prove that he's the owner of the Bitcoin WP.

What can he do? Sue people hoping that they'll be afraid because they could be summoned to court? This won't work and he knows it.

It's going to be so much fun when he finally runs out of money and ends up in some psych ward.
1062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How bad will the bear market of 2021 get? How low will BTC go? on: January 28, 2021, 11:54:58 PM
I find this is very different than 2017s bull run,, I think new bull run is coming soon instead of bear
but you never know,,,lets see what happens

It's possible because there's a big buying pressure fighting the trend. That said the trend is clear with us having lower highs and lower lows and being unable to defend important levels like 30 thousand.
We also had a death cross just few days back so we are in a bearish setup but not yet a bear market.

I also think we'll attempt to break 50 thousand this year but that's not what many analysts seem to think. I read JP Morgan's theory that we are going to have a short-term bear market this year. Not anything like in 2018 and 19 but a few months of bearish pressure that could even retest 20 thousand again.
1063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is an investment on: January 28, 2021, 11:25:25 PM
If you are in a hurry and need money, looking for a short-term peak sale is a good choice. If you are not in a hurry, it may be better to hold for a long time.

Your post shows how "peak" is always a matter of perspective. Had he sold at the time of your post he'd do it in a short term low of 30 thousand USD.
About 12 hours later it would be almost 34 thousand.

Congratulations OP. I hope it will not make you sell with profit and leave the market but instead make you appreciate the technology and stay with us for more, because more is coming.
1064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if Bitcoin hits $1m in the future? on: January 28, 2021, 10:18:11 PM
I'm going to keep holding. Who would sell something that keeps bringing profit when they can milk this cow until they grow old or die?

I'd probably sell a bit because for me 100 thousand USD is so much money that I would be able to live for years on it. I have a place to live, a car, electronics, all I need is to pay the bills, buy food, travel a bit. I'd need 5 years to spend 100 thousand dollars.
1065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Starve the beast - CSW on: January 28, 2021, 10:05:00 PM
When is CSW's bday? Asking for a friend. Let's plan a strike on all the exchanges that won't de-list BSV. We stop buying from them until they stop selling shit to us.

Should we really give him this much attention. He's already broke. He spent so much money setting up BSV mining operations and paying people to interview him and what for?

Nobody accepts his coin anywhere, it got delisted from many big exchanges, it's losing value. It's going to fall into obscurity in time.
1066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can we expect a dip, slump or pop soon? on: January 27, 2021, 06:30:12 PM
Bitcoin is at the lowest possible level before a possible crash. If we don't stay at 30 thousand and go below it's going to be ugly and altcoins will react.

I'm watching ETH and it did a textbook bullish move people like to call the altcoin season. It reacted to Bitcoins breakout and had its own a few weeks later. If Bitcoin dives deep like it did last year after reaching 14 thousand altcoins will follow. So watch BTC it's a great indicator for most altcoins.
1067  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin's price drop to 30K healthy? on: January 27, 2021, 06:23:19 PM
From a theoretical point of view, no matter how much the price of bitcoin rises or falls, it is healthy, but it needs to be reminded that whether you buy or sell when the price falls, you must pay attention to the risks of bitcoin.

Are you sure about that?

What if the price went to 5000 USD in a flash crash. THis would not be healthy. It would show lack of buying pressure, possible manipulation of the market, some kind of conspiracy against Bitcoin. It would discourage investors.

30 thousand is healthy but we went below that level today. If it keeps going like that it will turn from bull market healthy into a bear market unhealthy Cheesy
1068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Driving to the moon? HODLer installs portable mining rig in BMW on: January 26, 2021, 11:40:26 PM
This is a useless extravaganza to get free media exposure. I don't like this type of stunt because they make miners look like s spoiler brats. This is serious business and should be taken seriously.

He bought a pretty much useless car so don't blame him.

The I8 is expensive, offers low performance for what you have to pay, offers not very good range and is unreliable. To top it off he sacrificed the trunk run a mining rig and that mining rig is going to make an already low range car even worse.

How far is he going to be able to drive while mining? To the nearest store for groceries and back? Cheesy
1069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the most important cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin? on: January 26, 2021, 11:03:33 PM
Bitcoin is private if you can buy it privately. Monero is much easier to hide and I like it but its future will depend on the exchanges. You have to buy it somewhere and with bitcoin you can do it on exchanges sacrificing your privacy or for cash which makes it private.

If you eliminate Monero exchange you will more or less destroy the coin. It will become so hard to obtain that only those who already have it will be able to transact. You'll have to trade on dex to get it which will effectively cut 90% of its trading volume.
1070  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I am being mercilessly scammed by somone from the bitcoin world on: January 26, 2021, 10:44:30 PM
It's a typical phishing email or a ponzi link. They hope you will contact them to unsubscribe which will show you're reading their spam and that the email is active which will lead to even more spam.

If it's a ponzi or some other scam site they'll show a fake deposit linked to your email and will ask you to go through kyc and send some money from your bank account to prove the ownership. If you do that your ID and other stuff will be sold to other scammers and they'll take the money you send to prove account ownership.

They will even send you malware via email attachment saying it's something you have to click on to enable your account or whatever.

1071  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you develop stronger hands? on: January 24, 2021, 10:52:08 PM
In my case taking profit helps. Being rich is great too Wink

When I made my first investment i had almost no money so losing even 1000 dollars would be a huge hit for me. When I made my first profit from trading I got out and kept playing with profit. Telling myself that all that I'm risking is profit made me more confident.

Understanding what you're investing in also makes you not care about fake news and other people's opinions. You know what you know and that's important.
1072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not be too happy on: January 24, 2021, 10:40:42 PM
I'm always happy regardless of the type of investor that joins the scene. If it's a big company it's even better because it's going to be in the media a bit more.

If you're scared that big investors will manipulate the market, don't be. They don't have time to trade it actively. For them it's usually about the media that will catch the story and give them free advertising and about being safe from possible bank bailouts and seizures. They aren't buying to sell next month.
1073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What strategies do you use to make profits or to make your portfolio grow? on: January 24, 2021, 10:27:11 PM
Long-term strategy is always the way to go. I haven't done short term jumping from altcoin to altcoin for many years. It's a waste of time unless you have very little money and think that you'll do better gambling a few hundred dollars away than buying BTC or ETH.

Some of you think that DEFI might be the way to go but it's probably going to be no different from ICOs. A big hype at first and then a clash of expectations and reality.
1074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where were you? on: January 24, 2021, 09:54:15 PM
OP doesn't understand market cycles. They exist because some people come in late and buy on top and those people are the ones who later sell at the bottom. Really the same people who buy tops sell bottoms because confident people don't feel the pressure. It can go down 50% and they won't have to sell.

How come these people buy the top? Because they are not investors and they are not traders. They read the news that some crypto went up and invest thinking they can still make some money.
1075  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Tether go into crisis like XRP? on: January 24, 2021, 09:42:27 PM
Tether will have its own problems and is going to become a weak point of the market if it continues to grow this fast. Think of how valuable it's going to be in 2 years and how many coins will be traded for it every day. To support it they will have to keep making more and more USDt.

If they ever lose against a government agency or someone manages to leak their data that would prove what they were really doing with money and how many tethers they were making out of thin air it's going to be a disaster.

XRP can die at any moment, the market won't notice. If USDt implodes it's going to be a bear market like never before Wink
1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We once had a barter system here, but the government smashed it on: January 24, 2021, 09:00:56 PM
This is really strange they did not allow you to trade. What laws were you breaking by bartering?

In the EU you can trade at will for free, without any government interference, even if you make profit. If I remember correctly there's a law in my country which states that used things that belong to you and weren't purchased with the intent to trade like books, tools, clothes, can be sold tax free. You can place ads online and sell them for fiat or cash. That's why people rarely trade. It's much easier to price things.
1077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, you want to get sued by a scammer? on: January 24, 2021, 08:03:51 PM
Poor delusional Craig thinks he has 5 billion dollars Cheesy If he had that much he'd be able to finance a 51% attack or mine bitcoin himself.  He'd be able to set up his own exchange for shitcoins, but what coins would he include there if he'd exclude Bitcoin and his sister coin (BCH)? Cheesy

Craig is debating the destruction of Bitcoin and in the meantime his coin gradually loses value.
Price in 2020 according to CMC:
February $360
March $246
April $213
May $206
June $197

And so on...

With some brief jumps along the way, in October it was worth only $180 and now is at 173.
Anybody can guess how many millions in USD is Craig losing every month if he continues to hold BSV, because I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any real bitcoins Grin
1078  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's reason for pumping btc price? on: January 24, 2021, 07:23:30 PM
Despite Bitcoin's (BTC) steep rally in November, the price is consolidating above $15,000 as on-chain analyst, Willy Woo says a blow-off top is unlikely for three main reasons. The three factors are the growing outflow of funds from exchanges, increase in “HODLers,” and data showing that investors already took profit.

Don't forget that Willy is a long time Bitcoin bull. He said it himself that he tends to be bullish with his predictions. It's common for analysts who own bitcoins and those who in the past made a lot of money holding it.

The main reason why price went up is supply and demand. I don't believe there was deliberate pumping taking place. If there was any, we can blame Tether Wink
1079  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: which one will you choose? on: January 24, 2021, 07:05:41 PM
I think both of these coins will continue to grow this year. My opinion is that the bull run for bitcoin is not over yet and we'll see a big cleansing where capital continues to flow from shitcoins to a few more viable projects.

I'm not going to bu Polkadot since I'm already heavily invested in BTC and ETH but if you already have both of these and still some fiat left you can go with it. There's a small chance that we'lll go into a bear market from here but it's really too small to miss out on the opportunity to make another 200%.
1080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin outperforming Gold on: January 24, 2021, 06:22:32 PM
Bitcoin cost is unstable, and this is opportunity for buyer and seller. It is not sure that BTC price will be steady, But In my opinion that bitcoin outperforms gold in cost, but not in its stability. If you look for long term spare of your resource, without the hazard of it diminished in esteem, at that point go for gold. But in case you're a risk-taker, and looks for a long term venture, and get in the Bitcoin because the future of Bitcoin is bright.

But what type of gold. Gold's problem these days is that as an investment it's in the form of market shares. If you want to invest in gold as easy as you can invest in bitcoin you have to buy it on the market but in such case you don't really own gold. You own a gold equivalent. A promise that your share is backed by real gold somewhere and that someone will buy that share for fiat when you need it.

This makes bitcoin so much better because you really own it.

Why not just buy real gold then in the form of coins, bars, nuggets or jewelry?

As a halfway house, you can also pay custodians to look after your physical gold, or keep it in a bank deposit box...

Although a percentage of gold fans do indeed keep it under their bed ready to barter after the Zombie Apocalypse  Shocked

Because processed gold is much more expensive than bars or shares and much harder to price.

When you buy a gold ring, how do you know what its real price is. The price tag has nothing to do with real value because the value of gold is much different than the value of a product made of gold. One jeweler will give you 100 USD for it and another will offer 120 and the real value of pure gold used to make it is $80.
