1081  Economy / Gambling / Re: risk of kyc on crypto casinos ? on: June 20, 2022, 05:23:51 AM
You might want to check this thread.

Just to clarify, the phrase "if needed" means that the casino isn't requiring their players to submit KYC, unless otherwise you are crossing a specific guideline as stated by their terms of service. So you are better-off reading those if you want to avoid any inconveniences in future.
1082  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [Q]To take a loan or not to on: June 20, 2022, 03:28:58 AM
Sure bitcoin is the safest crypto in this space to invest in, however, it could still shit on your pants. Taking a loan for an extremely volatile asset is a surefire recipe for a disaster.

Is buying bitcoin with your paycheck isn't enough? You don't want to imitate over-leveraged big boys, do you?

I've had my Ledger Nano S for approximately 2 years, but after about half a year of use, the screen began to fade, which I find extremely frustrating. Just a few months ago, I decided to get a new OLED screen to replace the faulty one[1], and I contacted Ledger support, who fortunately sent me a brand new Ledger Nano S for free!!

Too bad, I am one of those people who experienced this kind of OLED screen issue[2]. I am not just pretty sure if the cause is the quality of their oled screen or how I keep the ledger nano inside its original box.

I also have my Trezor Model One which serves as an alternative wallet for any NFT-related asset I own. So far, I haven't discovered any issues with the product after using it for about 7 months. But then, both of which serve their purposes well enough as long as you take of your seed phrases not getting leaked and don't do anything stupid (e.g., storing your seed phrase online, taking picture of it..).

1084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: June 19, 2022, 12:55:38 PM
Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) each have an own market.

Different types of information are superimposed over the real world in Augmented Reality. It's as if you're wearing a glass or head gear similar to the robot vision featured in the movie, where information is displayed on top of the object you're looking at. Perhaps AR could be really handy for counting cards?

Virtual reality, on the other hand, appears to be more useful for training or as a gateway to an actual casino experience, and table game simulation is an excellent example of this to gain a better understanding of the game's concepts.

If I were to choose which technologies will have more impact specifically in casino, it would be AR for sure!!!
1085  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone have the time to help an old crusty understand Bitcoin? on: June 19, 2022, 05:04:30 AM
If you like learning bitcoin thru videos - https://youtube.com/c/aantonop

And if you like learning thru reading articles and books.

Or you could buy those 3 volume book of "The Internet of Money" by Antonopolous in amazon if you want to learn the idea behind bitcoin in layman's terms.

1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Moving HBAR from Kucoin to MyHbarWallet on: June 19, 2022, 04:39:21 AM
Someone from reddit also had the same issue.

Also, I am not certain if Kucoin has the same policy with Uphold's withdrawal policy for HBAR, it could be the same reason why Kucoin restricts their user from withdrawing to external wallets!

The only way I can think of is to trade your HBAR to a stablecoin and then transfer it to another exchange that supports trading of HBAR and then withdraw from it -- if in case Kucoin support does not help you in any way.
1087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Identifying hot wallets of dex's who use tron on: June 19, 2022, 03:58:15 AM
If I understand your question correctly, you are asking for Tron DEX and Tron hotwallet that can be easily connected to the DEX? Then you can use sunswap[1] and TronLink[2] as your wallet that mainly uses TRON as their coin.

1088  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: June 19, 2022, 03:08:23 AM
I think this one is quite different compared to the past as participants can submit 2 entries and could win 2 prizes
...
Submitting two entries isn't new. From all the previous contest that has been held in the past few months, most of which have a rule where anyone can submit 2 entries to get more chances of winning.

Holiday[1] and Spring[2] Art contest are examples for this one and many more..

You guessed right about the art contest. This is the newest art contest from Roobet Art Contest "Summer '22" | $4950 Up for grabs! Ends July 31st!
...
Speaking of the devil! LOL!

Well, I guess since the contest is currently up and running, I highly advised that everyone should take their time conceptualizing on how their artwork would look like especially now that all participants are fully aware of each others art style/composition. Not only the contest improves our skills, but creating a "well-designed" piece is another way of giving gratitude to the whole management of Roobet.

So yeah! Best of luck! And I hope that the announcement reaches those people who have difficulty being updated with the contest LOL!!
1090  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you realize that you are an economist without a degree? on: June 17, 2022, 11:18:32 AM
It isn't about becoming an economist per se, but it's certainly become a gateway to dig deep into personal finance and investing in general to avoid making bad financial decision.

Researching and studying the markets are just by-products of the field we are getting into to maximize whatever opportunities that comes into place. And I bet being an economist isn't limited to just speculating certain assets -- it's definitely more than that.
1091  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: June 17, 2022, 10:12:55 AM
I think there will be soon one art contest back for the members to come up with new exciting arts for Mr.Roo Wink
There is no upcoming worldwide holiday that Roobet can celebrate, so I don't think there is an upcoming contest that will be held next month, unless otherwise Roobet has a one big hell of event that's cooking to celebrate their launch. But yeah, I am missing the event and I still look forward for whatever theme is about to launch.

Would it be nice to create a 3D Roo? -- just to spice some things up.
1092  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling a Website or Other Online Project(s) for BTC on: June 17, 2022, 08:51:28 AM
As for escrow part, since you are selling in bitcointalk, you could somehow use the escrow services offerred by established members here[1]. I am not really sure if smart contracts have been a thing to be used as an escrow here though...

1093  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bottom For Bitcoin? on: June 16, 2022, 02:17:49 PM
Will not wait for the bottom! I would otherwise go sell most of the important asset I own which can include house and lot, and vehicles. Plus, one of the body organs I have to buy more stash of bitcoin!  Tongue.

Kidding aside mate, as others have said, I would rather opt-in using DCA strategy than timing the market to trigger your buy button -- of course, if you are planning long term. If in case bitcoin continuously go down in the next few weeks or days, you can replicate the process and buy bitcoin again at a much premium price.
1094  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is the crash in bitcoin price a threat to forum existence? on: June 16, 2022, 08:16:24 AM
I don't think that's a serious threat. Sure the price might be unattractive for others, but the tech behind it, still, has a place for discussion.

Plus, despite bitcoin's price drop in recent years, bitcoin forum still exists. And two, there is even ongoing development of a new forum platform called epochtalk[1]. Perhaps the most likely result would be a reduction in forum traffic, but who knows?

1095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Phil Mickelson Opens Up About Losing MILLIONS From Gambling on: June 16, 2022, 06:53:36 AM
I've read his name somewhere on the internet -- I don't exactly remember where or when, but it is closely related to the Saudi Arabian government issue with Phil being affiliated with them.

AFAIK, this guy accepted an invitation to a golf game hosted by Saudi Arabian government, despite reports of their human rights violations. Guess what! Of course he accepted the invitation bagging a large amount of money. Yikes!
1096  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cryptolottostore.com - TWO NEW MILLIONAIRES MADE IN ONE DAY! on: June 16, 2022, 04:25:16 AM
in the case of such big wins do users have to provide any complementary informations, and how the wins are paid ??
Looking at the first few pages of the thread, OP said that they do not require KYC when someone won a lottery.

In basic terms, we pay the insurance company a significant premium and send them the ticket numbers.  If the winning ticket comes up, they send us the money to pay out to the winner.  This is why is takes a little more time to get a jackpot out to a player than a standard withdrawal.  We don't provide any personal data to the insurer, and so we can pay it out to an anonymous player.

Also, if you look at the first few pages of the thread, there are other bitcointalk members who have won the lottery and get paid[1]. But, the thing is, their promotion here in bitcointalk as well as from their social media account seems to be inactive. It would be better to proceed with caution.

1097  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blackjack.fun | 0.28% House edge | Live tables | Baccarat |Slots| InstantWithraw on: June 16, 2022, 03:49:39 AM
I planning to reach the 5BTC goal to increase my passive rewards.
Wait! Did I understand it correctly? Where is the passive reward in blackjack.fun?
...
The reward is coming from the loyalty reward of Blackjack.fun. You are entitled to receive 0.001BTC every week after having a 0.005BTC wager per day consecutively if you already reach the 1BTC wager volume. This reward will increase on every tier that you reach based on the loyalty rewards page.
...
Check the VIP page here: https://blackjack.fun/vip
That's right, I just reached my first VIP level and already claimed the first reward 1mbtc  I can reclaim 1mbtc next week but like you said at least I have to bet 5mbtc every day for a week, we can call it as cashback
Ohh okay! So does it mean, regardless of the game you played for a week in blackjack.fun, the wagered BTC will accumulate over time and will reset after every 24 hours. That's pretty attractive to be honest, but then it isn't considered as a passive income as you'll have to do at least some legwork to claim the prize.

If I may ask, what game do you guys played the most? And, could you recommend some blackjack simulator just to get my feet wet. Geez, blackjack is starting to get on mee!!
1098  Other / Off-topic / Re: Irony of Life on: June 15, 2022, 06:13:17 AM
Although the definition is correct, the examples are incorrect.

When people speculate on whether bitcoin will rise or decrease, how can I label the dramatic drop as an"irony"?

Sure, I mean! If bitcoin promised people that they might get wealthy merely by buying or investing, I may consider it ironic. However, this is not the case, as price fluctuation has nothing to do with bitcoin's speculative nature. It's just that people end up crying because they don't have a financial plan or didn't bother to ask or understand bitcoin beforehand

Apart from that, the only irony I can see is about centralizing a crypto exchange and wallets out of a decentralised technology.
1099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Japanese man gambled away a huge Covid-19 relief funds mistakenly sent to him on: June 15, 2022, 04:24:38 AM
Are they definitely sure that he gambled it away? Maybe he was just secretly pocketing the money while saying he was gambling it?
Agree.

If that's the case, telling the authorities that "I gambled it away" at an overseas online casino is a clever way of expressing, "I hid the money in my pocket so that the authorities will have a hard time dealing with the casino in giving my account details since they don't give a shit."

Since the article states that it is an overseas casino, it is clear that it is not legally permitted to operate in Japan, making cooperation with them a waste of time.

I planning to reach the 5BTC goal to increase my passive rewards.
Wait! Did I understand it correctly? Where is the passive reward in blackjack.fun? Or is it coming from another casino website? Can you explain this a bit more so I can understand it clearly and for anyone else here in the forum.

Just to clarify though, passive means you are not actively betting on side, while accumulate stacks of bitcoin. I might have missed this in blackjack.fun. But anyways, response would be very much appreciated.
