I also try not to let the odds get too high, and this time it worked out really well. And ofc smooth Sportsbet experience again. Love it!  Smiley

Speaking of the odds too high, what do you think of this bet I lost recently?

Should I have picked just 8-9 matches instead of 12? It would still be a great win if I'd picked the right ones. Smiley I'm joking. I would never pick "the right ones". Also, sometimes to bring more fun in life, we have to act in the all-or-nothing mode. Thank you, Sportsbet.io for the opportunity to bet with such high odds!

I don't know if you guys picked on it but BTCGOSU is killing it this week. I have no idea how he is last one on the table and already has 22 points in this round. Something does not compute Smiley

He even got correct score on Bayern game, kudos efialtis, not an easy feet to predict that.

Wow! 22 points. Congrats, @efialtis! I'm very happy for you, mate. You aren't going to stay at the bottom for too long , aren't you? Smiley I know you wouldn't be there at all if you didn't miss round 1 and 2. Amazing job!

I've only got half of your points this time

And yet it's a good achievement for me. If I was getting 11 points each round I'd have 44 points total right now, and I have only 39. Will try at least to stay on this level in the future matchdays. You are inspiration to us all, efi.

I've been following the roobet art contests for a while now and I realized they changed the free spins rewards.

The first one said every real artwork entry will get a free spins. Did every entry got it? I would have joined if I read that one. Now they just award selected users. It would be nice if someone can confirm if there is really a consolation prize.

And I have nothing against it. It's their contest, their money, so, they can decide whom to reward with free spins.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much with my entry

I saw better works than mine in the thread in the Hand Drawn category. And this one by @Scripture

is an amazing artwork in my opinion and it didn't receive any prize, so I definitely shouldn't complain. Just wondering, has anyone received the free spins?
1084  Economy / Gambling / Re: Whats happening with Betnomi? on: September 18, 2023, 09:35:26 AM
~ Being a regular user on betnomi for a bit, I really don't see how very many lost a bunch period. I barely ever seen anyone playing there unless it was a poker tourney sponsored or they did dumbass VIP transfers. Other then that, the site was pretty dead. Doesn't make it ok for them to exit on everyone who had a balance, but I'd bet the legitimate scam total was barely 20k IMO.

$20k? I thought there were millions of USD on the site. I'm not a whale or something, but I had around $400 on the site. My balance was $150 and I would never deposit more but my friend offered to sponsor my poker game and I deposited $250 more just couple of days before the site disappeared. Was I among those few unlucky ones who had much more than $100 on their balance? Too bad.
1085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: September 17, 2023, 12:09:34 PM
Yeah, but can he win? He could be a popular showman, no doubt about that, but people are smarter these days than to elect a guy like him as president.

Btw, something has changed recently. Desantis was kicked out from the top 3 by Vivek Ramaswamy:

I didn't know him before. Why do people think he has a chance?

There is always a new flavor of the month in the early days of the campaign which gets a lot of media attention. First it was DeSantis, then Ramaswamy, and now Nikki Haley is starting to rise in the polls. Realistically, Trump's lead appears to be insurmountable and the primaries should be over very quickly.

Regardless of who gets the Republican nomination, recent CNN polling is not looking so favorable towards Biden. Even Chris Christie could beat him in a direct face off.

Nikki Haley is far below from other candidates, she has 26.00 odds. But what's interesting is that Vivek Ramaswamy went down lately to the 5th place:

Chris Christie you say? He has the same chances as Hillary Clinton, very small chances:

Biden is still number one. And in predictions like these I trust gamblers more than anyone because their motivation is money and they put their efforts in research more than anyone.
1086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: September 17, 2023, 11:06:05 AM
~
Only you can help yourself. That is really the scary truth for sure. That kind of gambler is kind of blind and deaf on advice and doesn't see those people who are trying to help those people, but for sure he will be waken up after something happens very worse to him. Because right now, for sure, if that mistake happens to him, even if we see it as a big one, for that gambler it is still small, so he is not shaken up on this. But again, if worse happens to him, he will struggle a lot, like pain emotionally or physically.

The thing is that in some cases nothing can "wake up" an addicted gambler. He always thinks he's main problem is not enough time and money. If he doesn't have sufficient money he thinks he should gamble even more. This is a big mistake that you should try improve your financial situation through gambling, but many people think like that. I said "think", but hardly it can be called "thinking". Gambling addiction deprived them of their ability to think. Only professionals can help such people.
And even professionals can have problems helping those people, as once a person has been addicted to anything for a very long period of time, it is very difficult for them to understand their life without the source of their addiction, so even if they could stay away from it for months or even years, at some point an event will happen on their lives which they will be unable to endure and in their minds the only way to cope with the situation is to go back to what they know best, which is their former addiction.

I think if they could stay away from the source of their addiction for years it would be a big victory for them. Then if they snapped at some point, they should turn to professionals again. You can't be cured for life from your addiction, or at least it happens in very rare cases.
A few years of abstinence is a great achievement, imo.
1087  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: September 17, 2023, 10:19:47 AM
That's what I'm talking about. I'm not saying it from my personal experience, but not from from the movies or some stories on the internet either. A good friend of mine inherited $50k 10 years ago. He thought real estate would be the best investment. So he bought a house for the money, a nice house near the river that according to the agent should cost two times more in 10 years. And now it costs $20k max.
Both the real estate and farming businesses require fundamental knowledge. These are costly industries, and one must exercise caution when entering them. It's safe to say that land is indeed limited, and there's a consistent demand for homes every day because everyone needs a place to live.

However, many overlook the fact that there are numerous seasoned professionals with extensive experience, and they are your competitors even if you're a newbie. When it comes to money, there's no room for pity in the business world. So, it's actually not easy to dive into the real estate world without sufficient experience.

Bitcoin offers another long-term opportunity, and you can choose to incorporate it alongside your primary business.

What? No. The percentage of earth that is inhabited is approximately 10%. Overpopulation is a myth from the 19th century. We are very far from the point when any land has a value because "everyone needs a place to live". Real estate brokers tell this myth to their clients to make them buy the land that is not as valuable as it appears. And then you end up in a situation like I described above.

I still think that Bitcoin is in more cases than not a better investment than real estate.
1088  Economy / Economics / Re: I wonder if food prices in your country have also increased? on: September 17, 2023, 09:36:32 AM
~

If you are residing near the country side, then there is a farmers market where you can buy cheap and fresh goods, but if you are in the metro area, that is really the problem, as everything is expensive and there are times that the cheap is of bad quality, but others are also when it is too late in the night and only a few people are buying fresh foods, and others tend to lower their price so that their goods are already sold and they can go home.

It is really lucky if you have a backyard or an open area where you can make it a garden and plant foods in there because it can save you money, you can use it, it is fresh, and for sure it is safe as it is all organic and no pesticide was sprayed on it.

It is not necessary to reside near the country side for buying cheap food of a great quality during the harvest seasons. Maybe you are working too much in the office and you don't know what going on on the streets around. Just ask people and they will tell you that these markets are arranged regularly somewhere near you. I've seen them in Hamburg, Munich, Geneva and Kyiv(where I live rn), I think they are everywhere. Am I wrong? Do you really don't have them where you live?
1089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: September 17, 2023, 08:44:51 AM
~

We shouldn't cheat. Even if we cheat successfully a few times, we should not be proud that we did it and will continue to follow that dirty path. Nothing can be hidden forever. One day, it will be discovered. Think how terrible the consequences would be.
Simply put, we already have the pressure of gambling, plus the fear of being caught cheating. I don't think that gambler has the mind to stay awake in the game. For example, if we discover that a casino is cheating its players, the question is, will we be calm enough to ignore that casino?

I blame books and movies. The so called "con artists" are glorified in some of them and people think it's cool. People with low moral standards shouldn't be allowed to write books and make movies these days. I don't know, maybe it's in our genes, maybe many thousands of years ago you wouldn't survive without cheating, but today, I mean, in the last several hundred years, we are trying to build a better society and cheating has no place in it. Appealing to low instincts should be forbidden.
1090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How will you feel if it happens to you just like this? on: September 16, 2023, 01:00:36 PM
People like those (me) who don't gamble for fun have this question to answer: how will you feel when you don't have money to stake a game that you predicted and better winning games you predicted played the way you predicted it and when you checked the winning was something that could have changed your life for ever if you didn't gambled again after such winning?

This question can be very tough to answer, but believe me, many people won't stop thinking of that if it happened to them, so I want to know your opinion about how you would feel if it happened to you.

If it happens to me, I can't stop thinking of it, but definitely one day I will stop thinking about it and see it as history or not yet, my time for big wins just like how it happened to me when I lost a bet that would have given me long-term smiles.

There's a famous gambling quote, "Nobody has ever bet enough on the winning horse." Well, what can I say, we gamblers know it's true. Once I won with 9,900x multiplier on dice, and I had $50 on balance back then. I bet with a fraction of a cent and won only $20, but of course I was thinking WHY, why didn't I bet with $10 or $20 and won a life-changing amount?
1091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: September 16, 2023, 11:59:04 AM
I disagree with the premise, most people will take off half the winnings after any sizable win.   Im not saying they maintain complete wisdom, may come to add back onto the table the same winnings they took away earlier but often in the moment of winning people do quite often realize they are lucky and reduce the risk of losing it immediately.  Others will keep increasing the bet as they are winning, but I think thats only some and most dont believe in an endless winning streak.
My general take if I win a loss is coming, I need to reduce size to win overall; I always 50/50 in win or loss though its never that simple.

I understand. I too think this way sometimes. But it's not a scientific way of thinking, right? Whether we lose or win doesn't depend on what happened to us before.  We can win right away after a big win, and we can lose and lose again after a long losing streak.

But of course you are right, reckless gambling doesn't' necessarily start after a win round.
1092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: September 16, 2023, 11:21:15 AM

Exactly, the reason why computers are able to beat humans is that chess is deterministically in design, has no hidden information, and 2-player game. It is able to calculate the most advantageous move in some set of actions within the game state. So obviously there is no point in luckiness and a bluff. On the other hand, it is completely the opposite in poker.

Still, if it is only a matter of following rules, I believe that many LLM AI would do just fine. As I have said before, the prompts that are being used are essentially important.

The prompts are very important, no doubt about that, but still today there is no such machine that can beat human professionals right away, without studying them for tens of hours, as far as I know.

I believe that there is just a big hype behind AI and a whole series of ad hoc messages released by various media campaigns are trying to sell this technology as something "incomparable".
I don't believe at all that we are so close to systems that are so strong that they beat human nature in itself.
No ... It could possibly be true; the only exceptions there is that the main idea to surpass human nature as you said isn't actualized yet...I don't think it can for some consolidated reasons... Cus how TF would you expect something that was barely made outta one quarter of man's infinite wisdom to surpass the maker itself?? Isn't it weird??..bahahhhahaha!!

Sandra 🧑‍🦰

Sandra, to surpass in what exactly? It matters. In everything? No, you can't make such a machine. But in one particular task, it's easy. Take simple calculator, for instance. It surpasses humans in calculating.
1093  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Crash may take bitcoin to 1M dollar on: September 16, 2023, 10:50:29 AM
Firstly, USD and the global economy won't crash. Only gullible people think of such doomsday scenarios. Secondly, BTC won't magically rise to a million bucks in such a situation logically speaking.

Tip: Speculating crypto prices shouldn't be taken too seriously thanks to the extremely volatile crypto market.

I agree with you regarding the global economy, only I want to say that theoretically if any currency, not necessarili US Dollar, loses its purchasing power, say, 20 times, then Bitcoin, even if nothing good like more investors happens to it, becomes 20 times more expensive in relation to this currency. But I agree, USD will not lose its purchasing power that much.

I'm not trying to say that BTC willl never reach $1 million. It can happen, but not because of the global economy crisis but because of some favourable events for Bitcoin.
1094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots 101: Basics, Strategies, and Discussion (with poll) on: September 16, 2023, 10:15:17 AM

With 10 million spins, the total results should be closer to the theoretical RTP, but still, since the number is still far from infinity, it won't be the exact 102%. See this article: https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/licensees-and-businesses/guide/page/how-to-calculate-return-to-player-rtp

From the above example, 1 million spins still deviate the RTP by +/- 1.09%, so yeah, the expected range from your case should be about 101-103% assuming it has the same volatility (std dev) of 5.6.

I thought with 10 million spins the result will be very close to actual RTP, with deviation only maybe about 0.1%. Interesting. It looks like deviation by 1% in either side is acceptable.

~
Back to slots. If there was a slot where the house edge was negative, meaning that a player had, say, a 2% advantage. Would that imply that you would definitely win money on that slot after playing it a thousand times? It's obvious that after 100 million times you would win some money, but what about a thousand spins?

No one knows since gambling is not a math that can be calculated on when we will win because it is pure luck game. Luck may come anytime without notice. If we are in our great luck time, no matter how much is the RTP or house edge of the game, we may win some money in our very first spins. Vice versa, we may not even win some money after thousands or even million spins when we are in bad luck time.

What depends on luck when we are making several bets is almost guaranteed when there are millions of bets made. Big casinos survive because of this rule. They have their house edge, around 4%, and with millions of bets they get their profit, around 4% of all money wagered.
It doesn't seem like it because luck never comes suddenly and we don't know when luck will come when betting so it's not like we guarantee a winning bet but it's really uncertain and we can't expect when it will come.
Moreover in the gambling industry casinos are always the most profitable and the percentage of profits owned by casinos is almost 70% of the gambler chances of winning.
But we are here to have fun so whatever happens, defea whether it is luck to win or even defeat we must be able to accept it without the slightest feeling of annoyance.
~

Sorry, I don't understand what you are talking about here. Can you please elaborate more?

~

Nothing in real life has a 100% probability of happening, there is always a small chance of weird things to happen.

Right, but the more attempts is made the closer you are to what is expected: losing the house edge to the house.

Well, I agree with this and last week I also experienced the same thing where for the initial session in two types of pragmatic games I could easily collect profits in just a few rounds but considering that the profits were not really feasible I continued 500 rounds but as a result I actually lost the entire balance I had.

You can't make any conclusions from just hundreds or even thousands of bets. You need tens of millions for that.
1095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: September 16, 2023, 09:26:14 AM
~
No doubt in terms of casino owners, they don't mind about gender as long as they are in the place where gambling is legal and there's no cultural issues then it will be good to go for that business, in terms of gamblers, yes there are no mentioned about who's the only person who can play as long as the person loves to gamble they are freely to do it considering the fact that I mentioned regarding to legality and cultural differences.

But what "culture" is this where women considered inferior to men? Even this very thread we see posts saying that women can't gamble because they incapable of managing their bankroll and stuff. It's absurd nowadays to think this way. It all depends on your education, and according to Statista, "88 percent of females worldwide had primary education, compared to 91 percent of males." Yes there is a difference but it's very small to say that women are less educated.

1097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has your Responsible Gambling had any of these Effects on You? on: September 13, 2023, 10:41:09 AM
This is not a case of being addicted to gambling. There are people who are actually in control of their gambling habits or addiction. For instance, they do not gamble beyond their budget; they commit an hour or two to gambling per week or twice per week and strictly adhere to it, among all other things. We have heard and read stories here and out there about how gambling ruins lives, careers, relationships, throws people into debt and more. But my question is, could this be happening to everybody? Has your responsible gambling habit had any positive effects on your relationships with your spouse, kids, parents, and others? Has it improved your finances and helped you stay out of debt? Has it improved your mental health and well being in anyway? Has it been able to help you meet an urgent need? Let's discuss.

Of course not. Only about 5% of gamblers(it's 2% to 8%, depending on the area) are problem gamblers. Most people just gamble like you said, an hour or two per week, and some of them just buying lotteries once per month and that's their gambling.

Positive effects you ask? Lots of them. I wouldn't say I'm in big profit from my gambling for 10 years almost, but that's money-wise. I had dozens of hours of good time, that's for sure. If I lose $30 in a week, but then another week I win $30 with betting just 10 cents, I feel good, right? No money won, but I feel good.
1098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: September 13, 2023, 09:42:34 AM

Yes, always think positively by using a healthy mindset, for example, as it is said, don't chase victory too much, just play wisely and enjoy the game, because when people gamble responsibly, especially using a healthy mindset, such gamblers will know when it's their time. will gamble and when is the time for him to stop gambling, the point is to always limit yourself and also limiting your budget is very important in gambling.

I also do this so that I don't gamble too deeply or too far, let alone go beyond the limits of a normal gambler, there is nothing we can't control, gambling must also be done with one's own desires and self-control, because other people may not. can stop us if it has become a habit and become an addict.

I just want to add that even responsible gamblers sometimes lose several times more than they could easily afford to lose. I want to say to those people, do not despair! Don't say to yourself "I don't have self control". Relax. It happened once, no problem. Just don't chase your losses, instead simply withhold from gambling for several days or weeks, and this is how you prove to yourself that you have self control.
1099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: September 13, 2023, 08:55:42 AM

And that will just mean that we're only in for the money and not the package that should comes with it if we play and bet on our own because if we're only gambling to follow other people's bets then where's the fun in that? That's not an entertainment to me anymore as it will just be a boring one as you have already put your fate in other people's hand without going through the struggle and fun in obtaining the data needed to provide a possible outcome.

I absolutely agree with you. If we manage to predict the outcome it makes us feel good, and that's why we are making our predictions. The money we win with the right prediction is not big, because if you don't want to risk big amounts, you never win big amounts either. It can be something around $10, not a life changing amount, but it's a day changing amount for sure. You feel good that day and that's what counts. Indeed, as you said,  "if you follow other people's bets then where's the fun in that?".

If you look at the current number of users, there are more than 50 million registered FreeBitcoin users, a number that large might have very little opportunity to get the main prize from the free spins, at least don't let me get old before I get 10,000 from the free spins or maybe of course my son who continues my account there is luckier to get it, but does freebitcoin still last that long, lol

But again, regardless of what we expect from the main prize of the weekly lottery, it all comes back to luck, sometimes I often buy tickets with BTC that I have also collected from free spins every hour, even though it's not much but I'm still optimistic that I can get If I'm lucky, I often get the number 9990 and never go above that or even touch 9997, it's very difficult to get it.  Cheesy

I rolled 9998 once, but only once during the whole time I'm playing on the site. I have 13,193 free rolls played so I'm expecting 10000 soon. Smiley

Regarding "very difficult to get it", you know, it's not difficult. You just click the button as usually and BOOM you hit it. It's all about luck, not about persistence or something. You either hit it or you don't. Stay optimistic, keep rolling and you'll hit it one day.
