I guess for clarification:
Are barcodes used to buy and sell?
Do they have a distinct pattern with numbers that appear to "by chance" match the 6 that appears in the second half of all barcodes?
Then do all barcodes have a pattern of 6,6,6 on them?
Yes. No. No. However, today you have given me a revelation! It is a revelation to me that anyone could infer 2,000 year old mysticism from something as harmless as a product bar code, and worse, allow that belief to affect their life. Amazing.

Those three double-bars are registration marks, just as QR codes have three squares. They are so readers can locate the image properly. They do not have any numeric value.
Sure. There is no "numeric value." However, are the lines there? Those lines are the one thing that is uniform on all of the barcodes in the world. ... Call it random if you want. ... Of course they are common to all bar codes - they are so that readers can find the bar codes! All QR codes have 3-squares. So they can be found. Did I say random? I am saying the exact opposite. The bars are designed to be read in all conditions, on a pack of frozen peas, whatever. Anyway, the double bar registration marks are more like "3" than anything else (or maybe a "7", or maybe "8").

But there are still three unaccounted lines without numbers on barcodes.
Those three double-bars are registration marks (finder symbols), just as QR codes have three squares. They are so readers can locate the image properly. They do not have any numeric value.

gbianchi, this is fantastic work, and very interesting about the total number of addresses. I suspect (as has been pointed out) that total addresses and price both mirror the network effect of a scaling system.
The concentration bands you have are:
> 100 BTC <= 500 BTC > 500 btc <= 1000 BTC > 1000 BTC
It seems that there is a slow decline in the counts. It would be interesting to plot this over the last year to see if the bitcoin distribution is becoming more equitable.

What happened to the girl is of course horrible, a crime, a war crime. The tapestry of human history is soaked in blood and there are countless examples of such events. Yet, none of that history is relevant here. Also, I am pretty sure it will be a bar-code. Almost all nations already have scanners in place that can read bar codes. All bar-codes have a "666" hidden in them in that there are identical lines in the front, middle and end without a "number" on them but they coincide with what a "6" looks like. Just google bar-code 666 and you can research this. Nope, there is no hidden numbers in a bar code. Stop the spread of misinformation, please. Likewise. BitChick, I share your enthusiasm about Bitcoin, but please stop with such interpretations.

What's a freaking stamp anyway??

Anyway anybody with half a brain probably gets it by looking at this chart: ... Of course when you purposefully deny the possibility that what the economic collapse next week bloggers tell you is wrong you might choose to ignore it.
The long-term chart shows even more that fiat is suffering from each round of QE just as a heroin addict suffers each time he rides the dragon. Yellen is a raving money-printer. No improvement in sight.

why the fuck am i selling i dont get it! To buy back cheaper! That is the only reason..

Will you announce location before your "pre-selling" ?
We can't announce the location until the contract is signed (for several reasons, one of them being a government not willing to expose itself prematurely) Reminds me exactly of this: "a company for carrying out an undertaking of great advantage, but nobody to know what it is". http://www.creditbubblestocks.com/2011/05/best-quotes-of-all-time-south-sea.html

Upside target made before Overstock news still not reached. Buy more please.
Whats your target? $880/$907 Stamp Feeling iffy now. May need to re-assess.... You don't think it'll make it? Its already at $860 it'll make it, if the resistance is not strong we'll be going for a new ATH everyone HODL! What about CHINA??? : D China is cracked. Bitcoin doesn't care.

overstock is only in the USA right now.
it will be international soon.
This is where the real power of Bitcoin becomes apparent. Overstock should see international sales increase at a faster rate than domestic sales.

Perhaps they mean that French bankers have a limited future?
Almost. But to be absolutely precise it is: "French banksters have a limited future". Especially when Hollande crucifies them with his 75% tax rate!

1) a lot of market participants are bearish simple because they are holding 1000% or more profits. so any bad news is a good reason to grab profits. ( this profit taking period feels like its almost over... )
One cannot claim a profit until the bitcoins have been exchanged for old money, merchandise, or services. Ever heard of "paper profits" and "mark to market". Normal stuff in mainstream finance. Bitcoin is no different.

Because nobody knows what the price is without China. China is responsible for the entire rise from $110. The silk road crash ended when China started buying. There are people who think even that the silk road crash would have continued lower without China, below $110, maybe all the way back to $60. Then China brought the price all the way up to $1250. For the past 3 months every exchange has simply followed the Chinese price like a slave. Now every time there is bad news the price just drops like a rock without any resistance. Then the price recovers because China started buying again - every time. People think "oh now China news has been factored in" but it hasn't. I STILL observe all exchanges following every movement of China like a salve - it is wired into all the bots and the strategies of all the traders - like an automated process. Anyone who thinks China isn't still leading is fooling themselves. So what happens if China is removed from the equation completely? Nobody knows where the drop would end, where real support on other exchanges would kick in, and what the true value is without China. It is some variable anywhere from $90 to $900. It is a mystery. Sure the news adds value but from what basis? Let's say overstock adds $50. $900 + $50 = $950. But also $90 + $50 = $140. Nobody knows so they are cautious.
A lot of your analysis is very good, but this is seriously off-track. China was not the primary mover from $110 to $1242, it was SecondMarket and other investor/financial/Wall Street types tailgating on their initiative, plus the Vancouver ATM news. China added fuel to the fire. Say that China was 40% of the rally. Well, China is not going to zero, even after all the controls are in, it may contract 50%. So that leaves 80% of the mega-move intact. Then add Overstock, enthusiasm in LATAM countries, etc. The $800 level looks solid unless there is some seriously bad news like a major Western government trying a dumb "banning" stunt.

Recent post on reddit describes frustration with p2pool "I tried to switch to p2pool, but it's simply not working for me. The computer I use to control my ASIC's is an old one that can not run bitcoind and p2pool at the same time. I tried, but it's just too slow. p2pool always warns about not being able to access bitcoind and CPU is constantly at 100% whenever bitcoind receives new transactions. Next I tried to mine using other p2pool nodes that I chose from here: http://p2pool-nodes.info/ I tried to select nodes that are close, low latency, and have no fee. Unfortunately about 10% of my work seems to get rejected, not sure why. So that did not work either. Any ideas what I could do? I love the concept of p2pool, but currently the centralized mining pools are just much more usable." http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1usb72/p2pool_i_really_tried_but_its_not_working_for_me/

https://blockchain.info/pools?timespan=24hrsThey have the power to double spend services or people who require <= 3 confirms with ease, check out their block history and count how many 3-block combos they have. Who is contributing to this impending massive mess? When it happens are people going to be like "Oh wow we got ghaxed" just like with Mtgox in 2013? 30.8% over last 2016 blocks. http://blockorigin.pfoe.be/top.php
