10901  Other / Meta / Re: Reputation on: November 14, 2015, 04:08:43 AM
How can people buy and sell reputation on this sight?
Reputation=trust? If yes then it is not allowed (if someone do so then he/she will tagged with negative trusts).
If you're talking about trading of accounts, then yes it is allowed here, but it is discouraged.
For the 7 months hero account, are you talking an account which have potential activity, or the account have some activity points that it can reach hero in 7 months (i.e. the account have around 280 activity now)? If yes then that account would only worth BTC0.1.
10902  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining difficult, what it depends on? on: November 11, 2015, 11:11:44 PM
Hi, what does depend the mining difficult? By the number of people that are mining?

In a future, when mining will end, or will be less earning... Does the actual big mining farm close giving to citizien back the power of mining?
First, the difficulty depends on the average hashrate for the last 2016 blocks, and it will adjust it so that a block will generate in 10 minutes.

Second, it is stiill unknown. If the transaction fees is significant and mining farms can make a profit, they stay. If not, then most of then will gone. There's someone willing to loss, though.
10903  Other / Meta / Re: Thread keep being deleted on: November 09, 2015, 09:16:57 AM
If you see an investor-based game and want to promote it, the only board suitable is investor-based game, or more likely, Trashcan. It is because an investor-based game won't become only gambling and it don't suit in that board. Also, re-posting of a service is not allowed here, and that's exactly what you're doing.
10904  Other / Meta / So many spam accounts created in October on: November 03, 2015, 11:08:47 PM
Today I have extra time to see the modlog, and see the latest member ID is at 631k! I've remembered that the number was about 560k a month ago. Then I've searched the forum stats. I found that 68832 accounts was created last month, which is the all time high as of now, while the pageviews/new topics are about the same as before. Then I've searched for some 'good' numbers, like:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=600000
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=590000
And I've searched for adjacent numbers:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=590001
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=590002
And found that they are created within seconds and with almost the same name! Mods please handle them!
10905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you do with 1,000,000 Bitcoin on: November 03, 2015, 12:36:22 PM
1M BTC... That's the estimated number of bitcoins that satoshi have, and he is keeping the bitcoins, neither selling it nor spending it. I would do the same as what satoshi does: that's keeping it and do nothing.
10906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people REALLY use bitcoin on: November 01, 2015, 04:35:41 AM
I used bitcoin just for purchasing digital goods (like cloud mining/gift cards) and altcoins. I have never used bitcoin to buy any physical good (as many local merchants don't accept bitcoin Sad )
Also, I would use my bitcoins to do some little trades (like playing with the BTC/USD market and get some advantage when bitcoin goes down, or buying some altcoins and take advantage whem it rise).
10907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin 'real money' to you? on: October 29, 2015, 10:14:44 AM
Yes, it is my online money. I will NOT use any currency other than bitcoin when I surfing the web (including USD/EUR/credit card (as I don't have one as of now).
However in my daily life, I still use fiat, as local shops don't accept bitcoin and I don't see one accepting it either Sad
10908  Other / Meta / Re: My Post Count is Locked? on: October 27, 2015, 01:09:07 PM
If you want to see your post count, you can simply go to your profile. If you want to see your post count in every post, you can go here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;sa=forumProfile and then roll to the bottom, check the box 'Show post count by posts:' and you'll see two numbers next to all your (and other's) posts. One is 'activity' and another is the post count.
10909  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Faucets on: October 25, 2015, 10:54:43 PM
Faucets is a waste of time. You'll get only $1 for solving few hundreds of captchas on faucets, which would take some hours to do it.
However if you wait and join signature campaigns, you'll get a lot more (but you'll need to wait months for your account to level up). I'm earning 100000 satoshis for making a post now.
Edit: Just found that you have negative trust... You may join the yobit campaign when you reached Jr. Member, however they pay much less.
10910  Other / Off-topic / Re: Sweden to Become World’s First Cashless Country on: October 23, 2015, 09:00:55 AM
Huh, if it is true, then the BTC price must increase a lot! I see in the news that there are 80B SEK (about 9B USD) in circulation now, that means the 'market cap' of the Swedish currency is 9B, while that of bitcoin is only 4B as of now. If Sweden makes bitcoin as their national currency (at least their population use it in daily price), it could push the bitcoin market cap to at least 9B, i.e. price would up at least 100%.
10911  Other / Meta / Re: Setting a profile picture on: October 22, 2015, 01:49:46 PM
This is ridiculous. I'm out. Bye bye
Why are you 'out'? You can add the 'profile picture' aka avatar when you have 126 activity and become a Full Member.
According to my calculation, if you post in all 2-week periods, you'll get the status on 16th February, 2016. That 2-week period will start at 1:40 PM UTC. After an hour waiting the activity update, you'll be able to add the avatar.
10912  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cloud mining, can it still pay out? on: October 20, 2015, 02:21:58 PM
Cloud mining yield so less bitcoins after electric fee, and with increasing difficulty and decreasing rewards (block halves to 12.5BTC within a year), ROI won't be made (the current earnings could calculate a ROI of about a year, however if you know the maths, it will be forever).
Currently people only by hashing power for trading, or just for fun. Don't expect earning from it.
10913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Bitcoin's logo color be gold, and not orange? on: October 18, 2015, 08:34:23 AM
Like many others, I would vote for orange.

Gold is the colour of the precious metal, which makes people think about money (fiat), however bitcoin is based on computer, network, calculations etc. but nothing about fiat.

And for the orange colour, it was chosen by satoshi when bitcoin starts, and hence it is legendary and should be kept. Also if a paper wallet is printed in orange instead of gold would look better (and printing a 'gold bitcoin' paper wallet with reflecting surface would cost more).

For the scarf, I think gold would be a better choice, but of the logo of bitcoin it is definitely orange!
10914  Other / Meta / Re: Fake Quotes on: October 18, 2015, 08:20:50 AM
A fake quote? Is it like:
Quote
Bitcoin is generating 10000 BTC per block.
Or:
Is it ok for members on this forum to post a true quote ?
(Note the bolded 'true' in the quote - I have modified it)

If it is the first type, it is hard to tell if it is fake without basic research (however everyone here should know a BTC block is 25 BTC not 10000).
If it is the second type, as the quote have a link to the post quoted, we can see if the quote is correct. We could report them to mods, however they are not likely to be moderated (as mods won't remove scam). If you think someone will be editing the post after you quote, use archive services like https://archive.org to save the page.
10915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the commercial banks must hate bitcoin? on: October 16, 2015, 01:05:49 PM
I think that banks refuse bitcoin because they can't collect fees on it  Grin One of bitcoin's advantage is it have zero/low fees, while most credit cards are charging few percent of fees (by bank). They would lost the huge income on fees, so that's why they hate it. They are greedy Grin
10916  Other / Meta / Re: Satoshi Discussions on: October 15, 2015, 02:22:49 PM
I have just checked the results, and the proposal 3 is leading for just 1 vote. I'll keep the voting open for a week from now.
Sometimes the Satoshi discussions are related with BTC.

For example, if it is discovered that Satoshi is and NSA agent or a criminal or Neil deGrasse Tyson of course BTC would be affected.

So I think it is not a good idea put all Satoshi threads in off topic as a rule
And that's why a board for 'satoshi discussion' is needed. Looking forward for it (but I definitely think signature campaigns won't pay for that board Grin).
10917  Other / Meta / Re: Satoshi Discussions on: October 13, 2015, 01:05:41 PM
I have added others in the voting option.
Thought question, is the person that made bitcoin possible off topic to bitcoin? Probably, because these threads are not about the work, but the person itself.

I dont think there are enough thread to create a special section though, but considering the number of Mt.Gox threads I wondered whether a bitcoin history board might be in order. Sastoshi Threads would fit in there as well as Mt.Gox threads, but I am not sure whether those topics are discussed enough for a new subboard.

I agree in this. I myself has my interest in the history of bitcoin. If there would be a sub section for it then it will be helpfull. Also the satoshi thread is where I also vote to move all the topics related to satoshi if there will be any such.
You signature spammer are agreeing something you disagree! Shorena disagreed on creating a new board about satoshi while you agree. Please read it more carefully before you spam.
4- move all of them to archival & an admin make a unique post about satoshi (bitcoin discussion ?) telling what they know about him until now.
After that all new topics related to satoshi should get removed.
Why they needed to move to archival? That board are for old stuffs, however questions on satoshi arises everyday. That's why I think there is a need for consolidating all threads about satoshi to avoid duplicate threads asking the same thing.
10918  Other / Meta / Satoshi Discussions on: October 12, 2015, 10:50:40 AM
Lately I've seen plenty of threads about Satoshi, some are in 'Bitcoin Discussion' board,  some are in 'Beginners and Help' board, and some are in 'Off-topic' board. Those threads bin Beginners board asking who satoshi is are fine, however some of the threads in 'Bitcoin discussion' board went off-topic.
Also as the threads are spread in different boards (I've even seen a thread about satoshi in altcoin boards), people may found it difficult when doing research on satoshi.
So I'll make 3 proposals here. Please vote or express what you think about this.
1. Add a 'Satoshi Discussion' board as a child board of Bitcoin Discussion/Off-topic/Beginners and Help
2. Move all of them to off-topic/Bitcoin Discussion
3. Keep them as what they are now
10919  Other / Meta / Re: Why is Theymos Admin and Not Satoshi? on: October 10, 2015, 01:18:48 PM
It is said that satoshi have started the forum, and before he gone he gave the admin status to theymos. Then theymos gave BadBear the admin status later. So that's why theymos is admin but satoshi not.
10920  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I get my coins back on their way? on: October 10, 2015, 01:08:00 PM
Can you post your txid here? I think it could be the 'double spend' attack makes your right tx don't got confirmed (like my signature payout, and they need to send me another tx).
If your coins showing up again, try to send them again.
