1101  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Over use of opportunity on: December 12, 2023, 01:19:00 PM

Although no be only transportation,,so many other sectors too na the same over using of opportunity nai still dey go on...and we dey cry for change
The thing dey border🤦 me I say make I share am with una

Like you say no be only transportation. The thing cut across all the sectors of Nigerian economy. If we look into fuel now abi kerosene or diesel. We no go even talk of people wey dey sell goods self because them too follow dey take advantage that na why I talk say the thing spread for everywhere. For example now if filling stations hear now say government want increase price dem go stop to sell and wait for the new price and before you know am dem go begin sell old cheaper price for new costly price. But if government say price drop, dem go still continue to sell old fuel for that price wey e dey before government announce price reduction.

So na government matter be this. Government suppose put price regulation to dey active and checkmate some of these extortions.
no be lie...but the thing there be say even those government go put in charge to checkmate the extortioners sef go still like collect bribe from them cause they too will see it as an opportunity

Na all those circles of bribe collection still keep Nigeria for this level wey we dey. If to say the system dey cleansed up all these ones wey we dey talk no go be issue. No society dey perfect actually but a country wey dey corrupt is always found with the commonest kinds of ills. Price control system suppose be something wey go make the common person on the street enjoy live but who go bail the cat...If you rig election enter then you no go expect say things go begin work as expected. We no need to dey fool ourselves.
1102  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Always get alternative to your fund. on: December 12, 2023, 12:53:27 PM

I am careful with my phone. Only what will take the phone from me would be those that will threaten me with weapon.

More like it and that is the first step towards safety. If we no dey careless about the way we handle our phones in public then na we cause am in the first place. Like you talk, na weapon go suppose make someone lose their phone. Just imagine somebody go say phone fall off and dey don't know about it or dat dem get up from motor and forget their phone  Grin

Well for the ATM stuff, omo me I no dey go out with ATM oo. I dey try move during the day and dey careful. Night movement be d time wey all those attack dey happen.
1103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 11, 2023, 09:17:44 PM

Even though it looks as though it is a fact because gamblers have regretted staying longer than necessary as a reason for losing but if you have a good emotional balance, that should not pose a challenge. To manage your bankroll is the first task and not how long spent on the game.
The Truth is that there is no rule book to this, many has stayed long and loss while some has actually stayed longer and gain what the had lost from the beginning, so it's not easy to state which works and which doesn't.
It's best to have a target before entry, has a reasonable amount you hope to win, don't be greedy, and also have the amount you can actually afford to lose too and work with that, it may not be Rosey everyday but you won't be completely wrecked.

Yeah that is also the point. It is not all gambler that feel unlucky when they stay longer. Some are lucky to recover all that they have lost because they have been patient and given time to it and at the end they begin to get back to winning. While some never get to come back from losing so it all varies. Playing gamble should be something with relaxed mind and you can't have such mind if you are taking high risk that you can't afford to lose.
1104  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is Nigeria still practicing the rule of law? on: December 11, 2023, 06:23:53 PM

Where is the principle of equality as it is shown and demonstrated on the law symbol weighing equal and on the same level so also on lady justice which is blind and having a equal scale in her hands.

Money don make the principle of equality dey imbalance. Na so we see the country.

It is unfortunate that in Nigeria, law is not respected and people dey do anything wey dem like. The only set of people wey the law dey knack na those wey no fit buy the law but if you fit buy the law den na you go dey run things. We see how the election of president take go and dem say go to court because dem no say law no go matter.
1105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 11, 2023, 06:00:02 PM
Shorting your play time in gambling is the best strategy in gambling, apart from knowing how to manage your bankroll, don't spend too much time on a casino game, the longer the time you spent the more you lose, this is the truth that many gamblers won't accept at first until they realize it later.

I understand that the long time spent on gambling can become an issue when the gambler is not capable to control his emotions and then he can gamble out of his bankroll. But a gambler who has much emotional stability, he takes care of his budget and never goes against it even though it is still a difficult task especially when you are losing.

Even though it looks as though it is a fact because gamblers have regretted staying longer than necessary as a reason for losing but if you have a good emotional balance, that should not pose a challenge. To manage your bankroll is the first task and not how long spent on the game.
1106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Spending more or less money on Casino this Holiday season on: December 11, 2023, 04:13:57 PM

Why spend less? This is the time of the year that there's a lot of spending and you have to buy a lot of gifts for your loved ones so I don't want to spend more on gambling I don't want to face this holiday losing money.

This season is the time that gamblers are really shooting high stake to try their luck for a win so that they can have a grand end of the year ceremony. But unfortunately, this is a wrong way to think because it will put pressure on you to keep taking higher risk which is dangerous. I know of many gamblers who are consistent in gambling lately because they want to win big that they can celebrate and buy gift to friends and loved ones. That is not the best way to gamble because if you are on pressure you may not get appropriate result.
1107  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Why we must heal our inner self on: December 11, 2023, 02:19:10 PM
The social media rave is not bad for our system and life. It is an upliftment to the world and we have to follow it but not just that way, not the negative ways that it presents to us but the positive ways. We have to look at the positive that comes from social media like the opportunities that it presents, the jobs opportunities that it creates, the entertainment and information. However, we just have to guide the younger people against the social media negatives, the pornography and all the corrupt tendencies that comes from it, underaged need to be protected.
1108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone here started with a decent bankroll in sports? on: December 11, 2023, 04:52:12 AM

So if I have a $100 bankroll today it might not be in that amount next time could be high or lower. And I tend to stake higher in sport betting when I am well convinced of my data analysis gathered about the team am betting in favour of. Simply put, I don't misappropriate my bankroll so when I lose I don't lose badly like I do with winning.

However if you are staking higher than necessary when you think you have had a good analysis and timing, that could also disappoint you because gambling isn't so sure to favour the gambler but the house most times. Despite my bankroll or the best of analysis that I have done to win, I would still do a reasonable gambling not to over stake and get restive. If you over stake you increase worries which is not good for the health. There is no amount of convince that can guarantee 100% winning chance.
1109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe you can win on sports betting by analyzing a betting lines only? on: December 11, 2023, 04:11:43 AM

Yes, analysis is important, but sometimes the match results still don't match our analysis. especially if you only look at the more popular teams and also the chances of winning without considering the squad which might be left behind by several main players due to injury or card accumulation.
Of course, you have seen teams whose quality of play and standings are far below and when they face a better team they can hold a draw or even win. things like that are beyond the predictions and analysis that we do. but that often happens in football betting.

Sometimes too apart from the injury on the bench, the injury that may come during play can also spoil the already good plan we have on the game. For example if a very good player like top striker that team depends on that we also hope on in our analysis for him to score some goals is substituted for the reason of injury, that can be devastated to any team. A top player many times is not compared to a bench warmer or some one not regular. The point therefore is the quality of play can be reduced due to injury that can be sustained at the time of the match.
1110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: With gambling, it's probably easier to quit cold turkey on: December 10, 2023, 09:19:46 PM
Addiction is a strong phenomenon that doesn't take a gradual step to stop, like it has to just stopped sometimes unplanned because an occurrence that will cause that person to stop such act. For example people who eventually get physically incapacitated have stopped so many addictions both hidden addictions and open addiction.

To stop an addiction gradually will amount to procrastinating and with that nothing is done at the point in such addiction.
1111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to be cautious: Everyone is not market expert on: December 10, 2023, 08:12:39 PM

I haven't seen a prediction of the cryptocurrency market having a 50% success rate. No one has been able to even be close to that percentage but I know one thing, which is whenever the market has a green rally such prediction pops up. Whenever the market has a red rally you will hardly see such kind of prediction. This is the age of AI if you ask an AI it will decline to predict the crypto market. I will give you a probability figure after looking back at previous data, which will come up with a disclaimer. This is the time for scam projects to come up and this is the time when influencers will shill a project for their benefit. It is better to do research before investing in any new crypto project or existing crypto.

Usually during the time of bull the market is always filled with new projects and most of them are only hyped for the moment, not majority will survive and they will disappear in the market as soon as the bull rally is over. DYOR very well not to be scammed by fake developers that come up in different forms and to be in the market just for the purpose to scam people and not for the real utility purpose.

I won't encourage investment on new projects at this time because that will mean taking a risk that is not necessary because you want to jump into profit but it can turn out to be a trap.

Well everybody sabi say country hard no be small. Make we dey pray to God make him open our eyes to opportunities wey we fit put our hand inside to try to make out something for ourselves because to dey stay for house without nothing no be help wey we dey help ourselves. The challenge be say some people kuku lazy wey be say dem no still fit do something if you show dem way to go about certain things. Make we show working and God go blessing the work of our hand.
1113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone here started with a decent bankroll in sports? on: December 10, 2023, 04:42:08 PM
I think with $2,000 bankroll and you are consistent with 60% winning rate, you have already won in profit of above half of bankroll. This is an outstanding performance that I think not majority of gamblers reach to. It is not possible with even lesser of such winning rate of 50% that a gambler will be consistent with as gamblers complain of loses often. Well if I have such bankroll, I will definitely not risk all in gambling. I will invest more than half of it in other area.

1115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: December 10, 2023, 06:39:28 AM
I’m not sure if I would say that loneliness is a cause of gambling addiction itself, but more that being bored or having free time can cause someone to begin looking for ways to keep themselves entertained. I imagine lonely people probably have a lot of free time, which is why they are lonely. I could see this causing them to use entertainment more frequently than others, possibly opening them up more to addiction.

You are having a point here that loneliness may not be the whole reason for going into gambling, rather what could push someone into gambling could be trying to double the money you have by gambling on it and gradually you become addicted.

Someone who is lonely has many means to get out of it and the surest way is to get busy and meet with friends and family members. If by extension depending on the level of loneliness, the internet is there to keep someone entertained. There are so many entertaining skit on the internet and different platforms like YouTube, Facebook etc only if you can provide internet data.
1116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Owners of betting companies bet? on: December 10, 2023, 05:27:02 AM
Do owners of betting companies place bet on their own platform or is there a policy specific policy that restricts them from betting. Do you think that there would be conflict of interest or that it will be unethical if owners bet on their own platforms. These are the questions that I am seeking an answer to.

There is nothing wrong with casino owners to bet in their own casino, I don't suppose there are rules that restrict them from doing so. But it is not advisable for a casino owner to use his own casino. In as much as you have the Liberty to do so I believe it is better to use another casino. Except maybe the person in question has a good percent of self-control and definitely not an addict then he can bet on his casino if you choose to. Maybe to try and multiply his money or maybe he just want to boost the morale of other players.

If a casino owner use his casino to bet or whether he bet outside his casino is the same thing. What matters is self control because the fear of not betting with his casino is not to over stake but he can also over stake in another casino so what matters is self control and not where an owner plays.

We should also remember that a casino owner is also human with feelings and emotions and so he is liable to make mistakes that gamblers do not necessarily in his casino. So he is at liberty of choice if he so chooses to bet, he is not barred from gambling in his casino excepted he may be tempted not to be professional and responsible to his betting.
1117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Today's prediction on: December 10, 2023, 04:36:13 AM
A quick question to you. Can you sustain this thread with the prediction that you have started. The sustainability is what matters if you are looking at a long time update.

Or what is your intention for it, you want to introduce something else to it on a later time?

You could rather merge it up with some of the existing threads. We have both leagues prediction threads already.
1118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull Run within Q4 of 2024? on: December 09, 2023, 09:00:57 PM

All that I know is that I am expecting a significant bull run in 2024 and 2025, the time that it would happen I do not know. If you are able to hold during the time, you will see the bulk run and be happy.

Bull run is usually after bitcoin halving which could be between few months or 6months and the rally will begin in full. This time around some people are already forecasting that the bull run is already on and that the price won't go dack again until the bull is over. So if this is really happening that means the bull started earlier this time around even before the halving itself. In other words, the bull run may not have a particular time to start, it could be congestion and some other things that can lead to it. Like now we know that the congestion in transaction is high and that is enough to keep the price higher.
1119  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fight against corruption on: December 09, 2023, 06:57:41 PM
Everyone is trying to show their displeasure against corruption, but are we not corrupt ourselves, in the little way we are living our own lives with others in the society that no ones knows about some certain things, are we just being the same image of an incorruptible person even amidst of the corrupt environment we are living, we often figure out the leaders as the only corrupt people which is totally wrong, every injustice we do in live with those around us is an act of being corrupted.
When the government compromise with the laws what do you expect from the common citizens, if the government can stop corruption and make the law not to be fragile that anybody can toy with people respect themselves and have no choice than practice the law. You can expect common citizens to be free from corruption when the whole system of the government is corrupt.  When the government is corruption becomes a system that every citizen will practice to gain their own benefits.

Government is the first culprit of corruption. When we say government, it means those persons at the corridors of power, those that have been elected or selected in the higher leadership echelon of the country. They are given the responsibility to run the affairs of the country and if they fail to do this it means they have corrupted the system.

One way to ensure that the country is not corrupt is to follow the law but those in government don't apply the law on themselves, family or cronies and that makes impunity to take over the country. But if government will be serious to cleanse themselves of impunity and corruption then they can sanitize the country by following and applying the laws on every offender. Most countries have good laws but it is the implementation of the laws that is the challenge.
1120  Other / Off-topic / Re: Making a New Year resolution plan is Important. on: December 09, 2023, 04:35:48 PM
I admit I had planned it but I was undisciplined and impatient. I have lost a lot in 2023 because of my greed and impatience in trading. I think what I experienced is also experienced by many people, often we make our own plans but we end up breaking them.
and I think that's the punishment I got.

This is always the case with the new year resolution. Ironically sometimes if you don't hold on to the resolutions too tight you get to achieve and I think when we make such resolutions and we achieve 50% of it we should still give ourselves kudos to try doubling effort next year. The next year is fast approaching and if we know the areas we didn't have good performance then we can strengthen ourselves by not doing the same thing we did. If you keep doing same thing same way then we are likely to get same result other than the change we want.

A new year resolution is a call for action, it is suppose to quicken our efforts to greater achievement at least 50% above should be better achievement.
